Yeah, i spoke with Sandy as well and she told me the same exact thing she told Merissa. She didn't say how many seats were left, but I don't think they are "allowed" to specify how many.

Im sure we will not hear anything until the end of next week, or possibly Monday of the following week. I hope. Lets just keep our fingers crossed that the spots have not been given away and we are just in the dark. As soon as I hear I will post.

June 1st is rapidly approaching, the time by which the admissions staff says that all initial decisions will be made. Just a few more days left, good luck to everyone still waiting. And please post new info from the admissions office if anything comes to light.
As a graduating medical student from Drew, I want to warn all you potential Drew students that the university is in a serious crisis because of the former president. Staff and faculty are being laid off. We are not sure if Drew is going to survive. A recent WASC accreditation visit is not looking as if it will bring an optimal result.
The faculty and staff are also disgruntled and they are all blogging about it. The staff in the medical program are ok...not as great as everyone raves about during their interview experience. If you have any issues while you are in medical school, the Associate Dean of Student Affairs will advocate for you at first, then get quickly frustrated with you and not return your phone calls or when you do speak with her, she will act curt and frustrated. The learning specialist has no medical school experience herself and all she can help you do is put information into a table. I guess it is helpful to some, but not everyone learns that way.
UCLA Prime is a good alternative if it is an option for you...they have more resources. I loved my experience at Drew for the most part, but there have been three deans and three presidents and I only did four years of medical school. The new Dean rocks...but you still need to consider all of your options.

Once again I talked with Teresa yesterday (friday) and once again she said our hearing date would be delayed. They are busy with commencement stuff, but they will be meeting this tuesday to talk about the final spots that are still open. So, I will call back wednesday and post what I hear. As always, I wish everyone a continued good luck.

Maybe I am just bad luck, but when I called the office yesterday Teresa notified me of another delay. She said that because of commencement this week, there is no way we will hear anything this week. She said to call back next wednesday. Merissa, sandy told you for sure the end of this week??? I just dont understand how they can keep telling us completely different dates...

Sandy also told me the committee was meeting on Tuesday...but she didn't promise any deadline, but then again I didn't ask for a specific date. She said, "as soon as they tell me something I will let you guys know." She said she was getting a lot of calls from applicants...so looks like EVERYONE is calling her! She must want to turn off the phone ringer

I got the same email saying we would know by friday but i didnt hear anything today. Cant say that I am that surprised though, i had a feeling this was going to continue to drag on. I am going to try and stop by the office on monday, ill post what I hear
Ok so I spoke with dr. calmes (assoc dean), and she informed me that all of the positions are currently full, however, she also said that they still expect movement as people receive scholarship offers from various schools, so the roster is by no means finalized. She didnt specifically say that I was on the waitlist, but she did say that my file was still open, so i guess that means jsut as much. I am assuming that we are all in that same boat... still waiting :/
Did you call Dr. Calmes' direct line? Didn't they waitlist people by this point last year?

Did anyone else get an email from Sandy today? She said that all decisions will be out BY june 30th. Huh, deja vu a little bit??? I remain skeptical. The info I am getting does not make sense, since someone posted that all the spots have been filled. If that is true, some of us on here are just waiting on a reject/do not reject decision. I am trying to not put too much hope on June 30th as I have been let down about 4 times now since my interview. I apologize for the rant, but this has been a tough wait since my interview, as Im sure many of you can also attest to. As always, I am hoping for the best and good luck.

I had the strangest dream last night...I dreamt that Drew called 4 ppl who were on the waitlist back for a second interview to see who would get in and I was one of the four on the waitlist and I ended up getting accepted, two other ppl ended up getting accepted also. Hopefully this is a good sign!

Called sandy today...she said those of us who have not heard anything are in the "hold" category which is essentially like a waitlist but they do not use that term anymore at Drew. She said they were going to send out more rejections on the 30th and the rest of us who have not heard anything will remain in the "hold" or waitlist category until the end of the application season. by definition "snail mail" means an actual mailed envelope. i.e. snail = slow...
