is Miami still sending out interview invites?? I have been complete since early sept. and still I have heard no news.... I am also a Florida Resident.

I just received an invite 11/12 and the dates they offered me ranged from late November to mid-January. However their website indicates they interview until April, so there must be some invites left to go out. Good Luck.

Just got my invite email today to interview at both campuses. I am a UM student who was complete around 8/15.

Accepted!! Got a call earlier today! Boy, these past few days have been awesome.

If accepted to the Boca campus, can you still get an acceptance to the Main campus? In other words, is it possible to hold acceptances at both campuses?

yes, the two campuses have separate admissions

does the scholarship website listed in the acceptance letter work for anybody?

Hey guys--

Just want to let you know the committee met tonight - I just got the call! 😀 I interviewed 11/14, if it's useful to anyone.

Me too!! Congrats!

Humorous sidenote: I was in the middle of watching Scrubs when I got the call.😎

Oh, and I interviewed 12/5.

And Arch - it looks like we meet again! Looks like perhaps we're destined to be classmates at one place or another!

I interviewed on 12/5 and I got accepted to UM as well! Congrats everyone!!

congrats!!! when were you complete?

Thanks Kaya!

I was complete with secondaries on 9/25, received interview invite on 11/12, interviewed 12/5, and accepted on 12/17.

Hope this helps!

I got an interview invite from UM today. I'm OOS and was complete 8/26. The interview dates they offered were from January 9 to February 9. If I had gotten the interview invite earlier in the season I definitely would have gone, but I am really tired of traveling and already have a few acceptances so I declined the interview...maybe one of you will get my slot! Good luck!

does anyone know when the admissions committee is meeting again?

i interviewed mid december and they said i would know their decision by january 14th so i would assume it's around then

too bad THE U isnt doing too well anymore. otherwise, this school would be PERFECT....in my little opinion at least.

Has anyone received an interview invite lately???? I'm a grad student down in Miami, but I'm done with my program and was planning on moving back home soon to save some money, but would really like to get an interview while I'm still down here 🙁

Yes, but they will probably want to know your preference of campus before the universal deadline. At least, I was asked to do this last year by sometime in January IIRC (accepted in Nov.).

so, what is the weather like in southern florida right now?? should i pack shorts and tank tops with some tennis shoes and flip flops?, or should i pack a sweater and all that winter stuff. also, what is the best place to shop and hang out at?? im coming from the northeast, so ill be getting on my plane with at least a sweater and jacket on, in addition to snow boots. lol.

its 70 degrees, sunny, with a nice cool breeze. U can wear whatever u want during the day, but u might want to bring a jacket for the nights, because there is a cold front coming through right now so it might dip into the 60s

well, i'm originally from the northwest and chicago, but i've lived down here for the past couple years, and i'm assuming you're going to be very happy with the weather down here even though there's a cold front coming in....a cold front down here is like flip flop weather in chicago, so besides some freakish cold days that are very rare (although i think the low is down in the 40s tonight...not common at all), you'll be fine in summer wear and maybe a light jacket or sweatshirt/sweater at night....personally, i wear flip flops pretty much everyday....enjoy the weather! and if you're staying down south, the grove will have plenty of stuff for you to do

just got the call! interviewed in mid december, good luck to everyone else!

congrats on the invite, it's a great school, and the jackson memorial hospital is HUGE. PM me if u have ne questions, good luck!

let's hope pitt works out for both of us =p haha

I don't like the cold, but I love Pitt.

VERY Open to loving Floriday and U of M.

I wish you (and me!) the best of luck with Pitt!!

Simply put, Miami was dope. Completely knocked my socks off.

Yeah, just interviewed there on the 23rd. The city is beautiful. The facilities are great and students there are very happy. Too bad I think I only did okay on my interview. 😛

im having trouble finding it... but does anyone know the exact statistics of how many interviewed, accepted, rejected for last year?

how many OOS scholarships are available and what is the amount?

Anybody know how often the adcom meets? Did they meet this past Wednesday? I interviewed in mid December and have heard nothing. I know they met on Jan 14, and I'm guessing they've met again since then. They said they'd notify us when the reached any decision, so maybe they haven't been able to review mine for some reason, but the delay is certainly worrisome. It seems like it's been long enough that they'd have made a decision even if an interview evaluation was late or something. I'm considering emailing...

They meet every 2 or 3 weeks (i think leaning towards the 2) on wednesdays. They don't meet during holiday season so that probably slowed it up quite a bit. It also depends on how fast the turnaround was for the interviewer to write your report. Mine was submitted later than everyone else I interviewed with so the decision came with the next batch interviews. Took 4-6 weeks for me. Call the office, agnes or francia will let you know.

I don't think there is an OOS scholarship. The only scholarship i know of is the diversity scholarship in $2000 increments (the figure for last year). Md/PhD get tuition paid for i think.

Is there any point of sending a letter of continued interest if you have not received an invite yet? I have high numbers and I'm sure they realize I have already received acceptances elsewhere, but I am out of state and I would really like to move to Miami. Are letters of interest only useful for WL applicants or would they beneficial for somebody in my position? Does anybody know if Miami is even still sending out invitations or are they all done?

I got one OOS last week... Good luck.

snail mail or email? Had you sent any communicates since your application?

Email. I had called the admissions office 2-3 times saying "Hey, what's my status you guys are pretty cool" (in slightly different words). No formal communication.

I called and was told that a decision had been made on my file and that she couldn't tell me over the phone, but I'd be receiving something in the mail soon. Needless to say, not really what I wanted to hear. I guess the question now is whether it's a waitlist or rejection.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't email me regarding their decision. Don't they usually do so, regardless of what the decision was?

I called the office of admissions today to see if there were any updates on my status, and they told me that the decision letter was in the mail. They told me they could email me the decision letter so I wouldn't have to wait. Needless to say, I'm on the "alternate list". It sucks.

So you had them email it to you? Did the waitlist email request any response?

I guess I should have asked them to email it to me so I wouldn't have to wait. Not like there's too much to look forward to. Just waiting to see if I was waitlisted or rejected...

I don't think they reject post interview and even then they have really good wl movement good luck guys

It basically said that I was placed on the alternate list, and if I wanted to remain on the alternate list I had to email them back within 2 weeks, which I did.
