Yeah i was verified within 3 days of that give or take and I havent heard news either way yet? Does anyone know if that means pre-sec reject?

Anybody thing we should add something such as when the primary was sent? That way non-neurotic people who sent primaries later in the season know about how long they should wait before expecting an Interview Invite.

I don't know if this helps, but I went and looked at the email they sent me after they recieved my primary. It says that it takes 4-6 weeks for them to send interview invites. So I am assuming they do it rolling, and it takes around a month.
 
What's ridiculous is as soon as you pick your interview time you get told who is your assigned interviewer. Definitely organized!

Gecko, was your Interview Invite dated the 4th?

If they're sending a few out everyday, there's hope.... but if they just mass sent them and won't send them again for a while... yikes

Like someone else said - they give a decision re: interview in 4-6 weeks. At least there's a definitive time limit on this one instead of limbo until march. 😛

How could Gecko's II be on the 9th, a Saturday?

Methinks you guys are using different definitions for different things.
 
Some people are probably posting the date they received the letter. I just modified the legend so that the Interview Invite date is the date that the letter was sent. Hopefully everybody will edit accordingly.
 
Updating my entry... I received the letter on the 9th, but the postmark on the envelope says "06 AUG 2008". The letter itself is dated August 5.

Yeah, they send rejections via snail mail too (according to the admin office). So just because you see that envelope, don't get all excited. 😛

ps. If anyone's received one, they haven't fessed up.
 
to those who are writing/written the essays: are you really using all of the 1200/500 word limit? 1200 words is like 3 pages, right?
 
Wow, the people at Vandy are friendly! I signed up for an overnight host last week, and just heard back from my host. She couldn't sound nicer or more accomodating. I'm really excited about seeing the school. It sounds like everyone is so happy to be there.

I was a tiny bit over the 1200 word limit but I had just a bit more then 400 for the second two.

And now I also have a host for my interview! yay!
 
is there any way to call vanderbilt to ask about status? i moved, so my mail is taking 2+ weeks to get to me 🙁 so i'm worried this is going to take a long time to get any response from vandy

I just got an envelope from Vandy, got all excited, and found out I was rejected. Talk about getting your hopes up 🙁

Good luck to everyone who got an interview though!
 
Mine is just pediatrics. She looks nice. Maybe they have peds people doing interviews because they are likely to be very nice.

Mine interviewer is a very old man - looks more like a hardcore researcher than the average primary care pediatrician.

I got my rejection letter today as well, 8/11 date. So they're sending them out. Guess they don't look at post-grad work. Thats coo, they'll be missing out 🙂
 
Did all you lucky people with interview invites submit on day 1? I sent my Vandi app on Jul 6th. I wonder if I am on a another batch...no rejection or invite so far. Got their "we got it" email on July 9. 🙁

I got their "we got it" email july 3. MCAT scores came back july 15...but i was verified on june 15. So, I don't know if this is any help for you. But, most likely, you're later in the pile than I was, so wait.
