I got my vandy "we got it" email on Jul 3, and AMCAS verified on July 19th, so by your dates I guess I am any day now. Yikes!

so the email said 4 to 6 weeks from the day amcas verified the application... according to the posters above, they are currently processing applications from around the end of june and very beginning of july... so it looks like we (mine was verified on the 17th) have about a week to two weeks.. im hoping its next week..i dont like waiting :(

For those who are still waiting, I got my "application received by VUMS" email on 7/16 and received an interview invitation dated 8/11.

My bad I meant AMCAS verified on JUNE 19th. Worried that other people that turned thier's in after me already recieved news good and bad... where is my snail mail lol:confused:
 
I got my "we got it" email on 7-16 and still nothing here...Did they send it to your "preferred address" or your permanent one? My parents have had a stop mail on their mail for about a week.

I got my "we got it" email on 7/3 and haven't heard anything yet.
 
I am officially a pre-sec reject now, oh well:cool:

Same here. I check the mailbox every day expecting to get the rejection letter.

Today was the first day I checked the mailbox before my parents...turns out to be bad luck. Just got the rejection letter. Sucks. And I was told legacies always get interviews...
 
Are letters going to "preferred" or "permanent" AMCAS addresses?

I saw the small white envelope and I became sad because I thought I got rejected... I guess not...:D
It took three days for the letter to get to CA... interesting...
 
got the rejection letter today :(. It stung more than I had imagined it would, guess cause it was the first.

they rejected you?!? with ure numbers? i dont think there is hope for the rest of us... anyways good luck with the process!!
 
Ouch, rejection here as well. I thought I'd get an invite .. I guess they really scrutinize your app and don't just look at numbers :/
2 interviews invites today somewhat balance that out lol

WOW I did not see that one coming. This whole process really is a crapshoot... :(.
 
Vanderbilt reject :laugh: I hope this trend doesn't continue. 33/3.75 = got the no further consideration due to competitiveness rejection letter.

Don't worry about it...your app is awesome and you're going to get a lot of interviews! ;)

:laugh: I'm 3 rejections into the app cycle with no good news yet... its still early though.
 
First rejection down, 17 to go!! :p

I actually feel a little relieved to have the inevitable over with. I do love how they reassure you that the rejection is not a commentary on your potential as a future physician though..."We don't want you, but someone might. Buck up lil camper!"

Heh, I just went and read many of my college application essays to help me write this autobiography. It was a nice refresher on what was important to me back then and gave me some good ideas for things to write about. I'd highly recommend it...though the cringe factor is just wow.

For the "Pre-Med Advisor Information" section, what are people who don't have premed committees putting down? Should I put down the name of an advisor, even if I only went to see him twice during my four undergraduate years?

Really? Did they actually say don't send more than 3 somewhere? I thought I read over every part of their website / secondary that concerned LOR's. Plus, I was going off of shemarty's early post saying "3, unless the extra 2 cover unique experiences," and my other 2 are research experiences rather than teachers.

I got the "complete" email July 3 and still no news. Hopefully my letter didn't get lost. Unless it's a rejection...I wouldn't mind that getting lost in the mail.
 
Do they expect us to waive the Family Educational Rights and Privacy act?
 
I'm browsing the interview feedback page for Vandy, and it seems like they like to ask

"What other schools did you apply to?"

I thought they weren't supposed to ask this? Better to be direct and list the schools, or generalize? It might be followed up with "why did you apply to X school." Its hard to tell whether they're just curious or whether they're trying to gauge whether or not you'll come to Vandy. What'd you guys think?

It would be pretty awkward to spout out the whole list, so I would probably name three or four (including my state schools since no one can really argue with that) and then say "and a few others." If they press me for more information, I'd give them the whole list, but I can't imagine why they would care that much.
