But, RowerLauren, didn't you say that your roommate got a waitlist/hold letter without a picture?
It is very bizarre of Vandy to have your application just sit there without any review because you were missing a picture, and not email you over the past two months. I guess it doesn't much matter, you will be evaluated with the next group, as will the waitlist/hold applicants. (But at least you will not have been passed over once by the committee already.)

It's very bizarre, but I just gave them a call, and my file wasn't complete until 10/3 when I uploaded the picture, so they haven't made a decision on it. So...worrying all for naught I guess.

Yeah - we were definitely not reviewed without the picture (I am in the same situation as RowerLauren). It's EXTREMELY frustrating and pretty much ruined my day, but I guess I'll have to be patient and wait for another 6 weeks. They did say, however, that they send out 'invites' (I assume this means acceptances) 10 times per year and they have only sent out 'invites' once so far..so we're still in the early phase of the process..
 
I just finished my secondary today and the first available dates for interviews are in January. I didn't think I was that late....

My roommate was reviewed but definitely doesn't currently have a photo uploaded yet.

It's so annoying that they told me 8 weeks to the day after my interview. 4 weeks would have been much nicer! I still have an edge over people who haven't interviewed I guess... But I just wanted to hear something.

Do you guys know when the next round of decisions will be made?
 
I interviewed on 9/22 and haven't heard anything either.
 
anybody have this new thing on their application page? I guess it's something they do after you interview but any idea how it relates to if a decision has been made?

Yea, it was available before the interview. I thought it was pretty cool that they put our AMCAS activities in an easily view-able format!

The horizontal aspect of it was nice, but I couldn't get the roll-over to work. Did it work for you? (If so, I'm jealous.)

Looks like they are sending out another batch of acceptances....I interviewed 9/22, accepted today (well letter was dated 10/27)!!! No phone call for me in past days....

Congrats! That's awesome!! I interviewed 9/23...still waiting...but I just got a pre-interview rejection from U. of Chicago so I don't have good feelings right now 🙁
 
I interviewed on 9/25 so I guess I'm in the same boat. I looked through MDapps, and most people got their letters after 6 weeks, but some did get their answers before then so there is hope!
 
Did anyone that submitted their primary in early or mid-September hear anything yet (either rejection or secondary/interview)?

Aww...sorry to hear that, but keep your chin up! You may well hear love from Vandy!! UChicago put me on pre-interview hold, so you're in a similar boat as I am.

On another note, I'm sure Shemarty will be hearing soon, as I interviewed with her...so give it a couple of days to Cali shemarty, you won't even need to open the letter haha. Also, the acceptance does come in a small envelope everyone, so no fear!
 
Aaaah! Nervous...

Did the people in the last batch who weren't accepted get a waitlist letter? or were they kept in the dark?

Yep no mail. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but we'll see. And thanks so much for the encouragement aebvd97. This process is so long and stressful 🙁 it's nice to hear positive words for others in the same boat.
 
I got in by phone call a few minutes ago. SO FREAKING EXCITED! 🙂 I interviewed on 9/15.

Me too! Dr. Zic just called me like 5 minutes ago...so excited. Hopefully I'll be able to see you at second look Lady Madrid..congrats!!
 
Oh my god, it's so nervewracking to know that the phone calls are happening right now, haha.
 
Just got the call!!! I'm SOOOO thrilled!!! Congrats to everyone else as well!

I wasn't necessarily on the waitlist. They hadn't made a decision on my application is what the letter said.

But I guess there's still hope for all the original small-envelope people!

Haha nice!!! Congrats! I'm not going to get my hopes up like last time so that it doesn't hurt as much... 😉
 
The call came ~7 EST. First contact from Vanderbilt since my interview, which was around the second week of September. Best of luck to everyone!

On the Top left corner above where it says Pre-Allopathic [ MD ] Premedical student discussion forum
There is a button for My Account. Press it, and then on the left hand side, I believe it is the first button for Edit Profile. Go all the way down, and enter your Mdapps number into the place for Mdapps. I hope this helps!

No news for me either...

1. Click on "My Account" in the left hand corner.
2. Click on "Edit your details." It's on the left under "Your Control Panel"
3. Scroll to the very bottom of the page. It lets you input your MDApplicants ID number.
 
Who do you all think i should address an update letter/letter of interest to?? Dr. Zic?
