I'm not at the post-interview stage. Still haven't interviewed...

lol ok. for those who have interviewed, what does your status say?
Mine says the same thing (been reviewed, contacting shortly, blah blah blah). CRAP. Hope it's a waitlist and not a rejection.
Chad - not to worry at all, I was really happy with the Lang House, just wanted to make sure people understood that even if the Hilton doesn't offer that rate anymore there are other good options. 🙂

after catching up on this thread, i checked my status (post-interview) and it says my file has been reviewed and i'll be contacted shortly. ahh! now, i'mnervous.

Alrighty, I called this morning. Patrick was helpful. They won't tell you anything over the phone for confidentiality reasons, regardless of the decision, but the status message is definitely the same whether you are accepted, rejected, or waitlisted. If you are accepted or rejected, keep an eye out for a snail mail letter. If you are waitlisted you won't get anything other than a status change online. He said the online status would be updated around thanksgiving, but we may get the snail mail earlier.

Thanks breeak! So did he say when the snail mail letters are being sent? Also, if you're waitlisted, does that mean the status page won't change until Thanksgiving?
I don't understand what the point of that is. If they have made their decisions, why wouldn't they tell us? 😕
Not true... I got a post-interview rejection from vermont and it says so, right on the status page... I posted it above.
I think that what breeak posted only applies to those of us who were reviewed in the second adcom meeting.

I just got put on the "out-of-area" waitlist/alternate candidates list. I heard that they have considerable movement form their waitlist. I loved UVM and would cancel my other interviews if I got in.
I guess its back to the waiting game.
So yea, check yo status page cause I htink they just got done with a committee meeting.

Yeah, I just got OOS waitlisted too even though they said they wouldn't be changing the statuses till Thanksgiving.
Is this what they do to all OOS? I am not sure how to feel about this news. Oh well...nothing to do but wait.
From what I've heard they either reject or waitlist most OOS candidates up front. Some people never get off, others get accepted like a week later. So... I guess we'll see :/

At my interview day one of the tour guides told us she was waitlisted for like 2 days and then offered an acceptance. Don't lose hope yet - I hear a huge portion of the class comes from the WL! 😀

Uhhh, just got in to vermont after they waitlisted me 30 mins ago!!!
Yes, they do reject post-interview.

By e-mail. But it still says on my status page that I'm waitlisted!! I'm so confused!!!!

Yeah, that's the impression I got on my interview day. The post-interview waitlist is almost like an indefinite hold.

whats this "small-pooled" business?
It means that this message will show up on your status page:
"Your file is complete and has been preliminarily reviewed. You are within a pool of applicants from which an interview may be extended. Please note that this does not guarantee you will be offered an interview and you may not see an update to your status for several months.
Our interview season runs from September through April and you will be contacted via email if you have been selected to interview."
Add me to the OOS waitlist-list. I'm just going to pretend I didn't see it, maybe I'll be off by thanksgiving. 😉

(Obviously the statuses have been updated, but I'll answer this anyway.) He said confidentiality reasons. There's no way to verify that the person on the phone is the applicant they are claiming to be, so they don't give out news over the phone. That strikes me as a little odd when it comes to acceptances, because I don't see the need for confidentiality there, but whatever.
Haha, wow, we are kind of following each other around! Yeah, I did get into Tufts, but I haven't gotten the e-mail yet so I'm still secretly hoping it wasn't a mean prank!! Good luck with Vermont, I've heard of people getting off the waitlist a few days after being waitlisted.

So if we were placed on the OOS waitlist and didn't get off the same day like someone above did.........does this mean we won't hear good news on Thanksgiving like they said? Are mass acceptances sent around Thanksgiving or what?
I dunno anymore....I'm confused by their system wrapped in a shroud of secrecy and online messages that don't convey much information.

For those of you who have been accepted, have you gotten a package yet? I haven't received anything in the mail, and I'm wondering if I'm just supposed to send them a check?
