They gave me a match list when I interviewed but I don't have it with me sorry.

i've the match list from interview day, anything in particular you want to know from it? it's quite impressive

and todi, we've almost the same schools/results post-interview, pretty amusing

wondering about general surgery and plastic surgery. How many and where? Really appreciate it, thanks.

Plastics:2
1 at Georgetown (DC)
1 at Northwestern (IL)

Anyone here interview during December?
Have you heard anything?
I am trying to figure out if our files were even looked at during the December meeting.
Thanks!

I interviewed the last day in December and I thought they said the interviewees that day would not have their files reviewed or whatever you call the decision-making process, until February 2nd.

To any of you who might be worried about interviews: I just received an interview invite yesterday, and I was complete 9/15

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum because I never expected to hear back from Emory (I submitted super late, was not complete until November), but I've received an interview invitation today. I have already received acceptances to a few places and had/have interviews at many schools. To say the least, I am getting really burnt out and financially strained from all the travel. I was really attracted to Emory on paper at the beginning of the process and I'm thinking my current hesitance to go to the interview just comes from fatigue in this process. I would love to hear more about the school from Emory enthusiasts (and anyone who doesn't have warm feelings about the school too!). Also, I have zero experience with the South outside of a business trip I took to Atlanta this summer (I grew up on the West Coast and have been on the East Coast for several years now). Feel free to message me or reply on the thread. I really appreciate your help.

I totally understand that you would be burnt out of the process; I know that I am and thus have turned down all of the remaining interviews that I have received, even to higher ranking schools. I like Emory because of the location, which for me is close to family. The curriculum is tailored for you to get into a great residency because they give you 3 months (I think... but it could be 5) after your 3rd year clerkships to do research or any type of scholarly project. If you wanted to get into one of the ROAD residencies this would give you time to do research in that field. I like Grady as a teaching hospital because from what I have heard, the med school students get a lot of autonomy there and can really improve their clinical skills and see a huge diversity of cases. The med school building is super nice and new which makes me feel comfortable and at home. If I were you and have already found a place that you like a lot, I would just stick with that because you will probably be really happy there.

+10000

I am an Emory undergrad and besides knowing that Emory Med is a top notch program, I have personal experience with this place. I think most people will agree that this school has a really different vibe. Everyone I have ever spoken to is excited to be here and everyone is sooooo nice.

I have a couple of friends who are students at the Med school and they really really like the curriculum. I shadow a doctor who lectures second years' here and if he is any indication of quality of teachers-the instruction here is amazing.

I know that you are probably feeling exhausted from all your traveling/money spending but I think an Emory interview is really worth it.

If you cannot tell-I love love love love love Emory.

the curriculum is awesome too in that they finish all the basic sciences in 1.5 years instead of the normal 2 years most schools do. this gives you the head start on clinical rotations (Grady!) and also allows time for your research project.

also, the faculty (or at least the ones i interacted with during interview day) are really nice. it seems they really do care for the students and their education. go to your interview!

also, did anyone else get info about the revisit day/know if it's worth going to? the airfare is expensive, plus i didn't know my people qualified as 'colored people'

I know how you feel. Last year, I received my interview invite from Emory well after I had already finished the rest of my interviews. By the time I actually had my interview, I, too was burnt out and ready to be done. However, I was interested in Emory (which is why I applied in the first place) and didn't want to spend the next 4 years of my life elsewhere and wondering what if--what if I had gone to that Emory interview and liked it better there? Yes, planning another trip was a pain and I'd rather save the money too, but in the end, I figured I would be taking out well over 100 grand for med school, what's another few hundred dollars? To me, it was worth the trouble and money and looking back, I'm really glad I did because I couldn't imagine being happier anywhere else (the curriculum, faculty/administration, opportunities, Atlanta, and most importantly, the people are all amazing).

In summary, my advice is if you at all interested in Emory, go to the interview. If you have more specific questions, feel free to PM me.

You mind sharing your stats to see who they are still inviting?

Emory only interviews up to February, correct? I was thinking of sending an update, but is it even worth it at this point? 🙄

My invitation on Wednesday gave me February 1st as an available date. I couldn't make that, so admissions gave me a choice from a series of dates up until February 25th. I would go for the update letter!

Thanks, this helps. 🙂 Good luck on your interview!

Just got an invite for Feb. 12, in case you're wondering where they are

I sent a grade update on 1/6 and just received a confirmation yesterday, so it takes a couple of weeks. I would try to call and see if you don't hear back soon.

Any accepted students planning on making an "unofficial" second look sometime in the coming months?

Congratulations!!!
Does this mean that regular MD applicants should be hearing back today rather than the listed February 2nd??

Yaaaaaaaaaah! I'm in! Interviewed 12/14 and received acceptance letter in the mail yesterday evening! Hooooooray! Such a good school!

I'm in too! Also interviewed on 12/14. Good luck to everyone else waiting to hear back!

I emailed the Admissions office asking about how many interviews were left and if those waiting had a chance, but no response after 3 days...

i called the admissions office. they told me they send out interview invites every day and they interview through the end of february. they did not know when they would be sending out their last invites to interview

Okay, thanks. I'm just wondering whether I should pack it in or not since Emory is basically the last school I'm really waiting on for an interview. It is getting dangerously close now, though.

Hey,

I'm an applicant on the West Coast (Bay Area, CA) still hoping for an acceptance and I'm wondering where you folks that just got acceptance letters live, since it's so soon after the supposed mailing date of 2/2. Are you close to Atlanta?

Thanks!

First of all, congratulations on the acceptances. I interviewed on the same day as well and felt better than I ever have after any interview but have not yet received word. I do live in rural Arkansas so maybe it will take a few days?? I am being neurotic but WOW Emory is my dream school!!

Has anyone who interviewed on 12/18 heard back yet? I assumed they would all be mailed out at the same time...

interviewed 1/8. does anybody know if we were reviewed this week, or later feb/early march?

EDIT: nevermind! got my acceptance package in the mail today. 🙂

Still no acceptance. Apparently a great interview is a cause for suspicion.

So do you think that they send out all acceptances on the same day or up until February 2nd? If so, then I'll give it until Tuesday before I give up on this round of acceptances. Good luck to everyone else still waiting and congrats to those who have received acceptances.

I just interviewed at Emory this past week and LOVED the school! Guess I'll have to wait until ~Feb 23rd (hopefully) to hear back.

I interviewed October 9th, should I give up hope?? Does anyone know how many offers they have given?
