I got an email saying they received my secondary on 7/9, but still haven't gotten a complete email. Anyone else been waiting a similar time for one?
Did you get the "complete and under review" status before this?
Does anyone have this status:
"Your current status is Please contact the Office of Admissions regarding questions about your status." ? 😕
No, at least not when I checked yesterday afternoon. I think it said that they had all my materials and that the process takes time. Nothing about being under review unless I missed that in the past 24 hours.

Ya, I'm in the same boat as you
You mean this:

NO. Haha...
amcas sent in at 11pm. Gw secondary in inbox at 9am....not complaining, but what gives?
In case it wasnt blatently obvious, me and blue were joking! lol![]()
I've been under review for the longest time. It's been a week so, at this point, "advancing" to hold would be pretty good even.
I called today and the lady on the phone stated that each application is reviewed twice(by two different reviewers??)before an invite is made. Not sure if it was like this last year.
Maybe they reviewed our apps once right now. That's why it's on hold. Now they are going to go over it again and send invites, maybe?
Yea. A second review will be done. By a different reviewer perhaps. I'm not sure what metric is used to grant an interview though. A yay or nay vote? Numeric points? Oh well.....there you have it.
awesome!! so its a good thing to be on hold at this point then lolYea. A second review will be done. By a different reviewer perhaps. I'm not sure what metric is used to grant an interview though. A yay or nay vote? Numeric points? Oh well.....there you have it.
I think this is a pretty common policy, actually. Although the mechanism differs, usually both people must agree on their decision or the app is given to a third person (read: dean) to decide.Yea. no its good. Before anyone gets an invite, 2 people review it 1st. So one person has reviewed it, and then a 2nd person will. Then if you are still on hold after that it means they dont want to give you an interview in the 1st batch. remember that this school probably has huge waitlist movement and often people turn this down later i nthe cycle. And people get accepted late also.O...so then a hold is bad right? It means the first guy didn't think you were good enough, so you only have one more chance before your app goes in the trash? Great....

I still haven't been put on hold! Which is actually not as reassuring as it seems at first glance.this makes sense. while i was freaking out about my own hold here i poured through last year's. it seems the status page was confusing everyone then too, people would go from on hold to under review, etc. and the general consensus became gwu's status page has glitches, but according to this theory last years' status pages make more sense.
and i'm WELL aware i'm reading far too deep into this, but give me a break, just trying to be helpful 😳
sorry i don't know if this has been asked before (it's really really hard going through the whole forum) but would listing research as a non-academic accomplishment be okay? i feel like completing my honors thesis was my most significant accomplishment, but i don't know if that counts as academic? the important part of it to me was realizing the importance of seeing the big picture in research and also learning how to write scientifically. but i don't know if this is non-academic...
really dumb question: if i'm going to be staying at my mailing address for a looooong long time, can i just leave the "current until:____" blank?

I just wrote "permanent" on mine.
You can put August 2010 which is covers the entire application cycle or Permanent.
Just got hold
What did they say when you called?
were u born in the US? I was told we didnt need that unless not born here. They wanted me to send them a copy of either US passport or Citizenship certificate to prove that I'm US citizen.
so for the "most significant accomplishment" essay, i was thinking about writing about climbing half dome in yosemite. i did it recently and it was pretty grueling, 16 miles round trip and it took me 13 hours. i'm also slightly afraid of heights and the last three hundred meters is climbing up these bungee chords. do you guys think thats a good idea or does it seem kind of corny?
they have your transcripts do w/e u want doesnt matter. Chm 142 sounds good ot me.this has probably already been addressed but i can't seem to find it.
what do you do if the course number doesn't fit in the prerequisite grid? i know it says that they have access to your AMCAS application... so does that mean i can abbreviate it even more?
my course numbers are:
Chem 142
Chem 152
...etc etc.
But it won't fit. Do I just write: 142, 152 ...
Or do I abbreviate Chm 142, 152 ... ?
THANKS!!

i know its too early and they likely would've posted, but did anyone change from hold status?
