I was wondering the same thing...

Maybe once we return the card indicating that we've accepted their offer, they'll send us more detailed information? I'm not too sure... perhaps someone else can offer more insight?

This may be crazy, but I was thinking of sending a check when I return the card. I just like to get things done with all at one time.

For those of you who were accepted, do you think you are going to go here? I really love this school and think that even if I get accepted at a bunch of others I will decide to go here. Anyone else?

I loved the school as well!

I will probably end up attending unless I get accepted to Penn (my first choice for sure, and probably cheaper since they're good with the financial aid), or unless I get accepted to NYU and my boyfriend decides he'd rather be in NY for work. Those are the 3 schools I've loved the most.

EBLoneStar, I think we are the same person. I have similar bf issues too (despite the sn, I am a girl, benny is my dog!) and I too am interviewing at NYU - definitely a top choice. We also have the same MCAT score.

SDN doppleganger?
haha
*waves*

Best of luck to you with the NYU interview, and hopefully a hard decision deciding between these great schools in the spring!

(I wish I had a dog... 🙁)

Does JMC notify you if you do not get an interview and your application has been put on hold? I have gotten interviews at Temple, Drexel, and TCMC,
but I am kind of surprised to not hear anything back from JMC, my application was complete in mid August, seems like a long wait.
Is there anyone else in this situation? Should I give them yet another phone call lol?

No worries, I'm in the same boat (complete late August and no word). I'm trying to wait it out a bit more before I call. Hang in there!! I hope we both hear from JMC soon!

complete late august, nothing yet. Has anyone gotten an interview invite that was complete after me?

trying to get this straight

you interview wed's and they should call you the next wed if you've been accepted? otherwise, expect email wl/rejection?

No interview yet either

my understanding is that they call you the Wed. that your interviewer shows up to the adcom meeting, if you have been accepted.. that could take any number of weeks..

I don't think if you don't receive a call in one week you are done for

I actually called the admissions office to ask this exact question, because I think we're in the same boat here...Jeff is my top choice after Penn. They told me to just slip the check in the envelope with the acceptance card, so you can go ahead and do that for simplicity purposes. Good luck to all that haven't gotten interviews yet, I have some friends that are still waiting too, and want them to get in as well!

 right, thanks!

Just got the phone call, I AM IN! I really liked this school and was even more impressed on my interview day. I am stoked and thankful to God! Goodluck to everyone else still waiting🙂

Hey does anyone know how long it takes to have their secondary application verified? I turned mine in on sept 30th and they still haven't received my LORs...

woot! just got a message from dr. callahan while I was interviewing at UPenn. Good luck to all, who knows if I'll end up here, but it's definitely one of my favorite schools so far.

I submitted my secondary on Sept. 21st anyone who submitted around this time getting interview invites yet???

got an email today, I'm a "high priority" waitlister...

jefferson is cool though! I'm keeping my hopes up!!!

Congrats to those who have been accepted!!!! 😀

I submitted my application Sept 2, and they marked it complete essentially the next day. I still haven't heard back 🙁

Same here. The least they can do is send you an update to let you know what the hell they're doing with you application. Has it been reviewed yet? Are you on hold? If you are on hold, then when will the application be re-reviewed? I think these are things that every applicant deserves to know and I hate when schools just take your money and don't do anything to keep you updated on the status of your application.

I know they receive ~8500 applicants a year. Does anyone know how many secondaries are completed? I'm going to guess 4000-5000....

i called the office today and they said that they are sending out a bunch of rejections!
so if you haven't received one, i think u'll be in good shape!

Does anyone remember from the interview day what the grading system is like at Jeff?

You mean pre-interview rejections or post?

does our application status such as getting invited to an interview, etc appear on the page that has like all the yes's for complete secondary or is there another link to another page with this information??

I remember it being Pass/Fail/Honors. Where you can get honors if you get above 90% on an exam (not on a curved basis), so technically everyone in the class could get honors if they did well enough. So non-competitive. One of my tour guides at Penn told me Jeff students have tests like every week though (which made things more stressful). Not sure if this is true though...I've noticed there to be a lot of in-city rivalry between the schools in Philly and NYC.

I wonder how much being a DIMER student helps. Anyone know?

Did the web address for the status check page change? My old link takes me to a totally different part of their website now.

Can anyone comment on what my chances are for getting an interview at Jefferson? I have a 29M (10BS,10VR,9PS)

Science GPA: 3.75
Overall: 3.66

Almost 100 hours of shadowing and volunteering in medical settings

Over 100 hours of various other EC's

I guess I'm pretty average as an applicant, but I really like Jefferson...

I've called and expressed interest and also wrote a letter, I'm just really anxious to hear something from them...

My stats:

Overall GPA: 3.75
Science: 3.66
5000+ hours working, volunteering in medical.
While traditional.
MCAT 25

I am here. Don't lose hope.

They really despise gunners on interview day because Jefferson is known for its class being really helpful toward one another. So, I think you have a better chance than people who go to the interview and brag about their high GPA and MCAT scores. Just focus on personal characteristics and not numbers if you get an interview. Worked for me.

Thanks, that really helps a lot. I actually know someone in the first year class and she's told me a lot about how Jefferson has a very "family like" atmosphere. Coming from a university where the atmosphere was similar to this I think I'd really enjoy being a part of something like this.

I'm just praying an interview invite comes before April :xf:

Anyone complete around July or August and heard nothing so far?

I was complete early July and have heard nothing. I hope I'm not going to be one those silent rejections you hear about.

I have been complete since July as well. Not a word since (except that email about LORs)

hey guys,

does it seem possible for an interviewee to meet some of the members from admissions committee, especially Dr. Callahan, a week before the interview? This would highlight one's desire to be in JMC ...

Meeting a week before or on the day of your interview won't make too much of a difference. There's a cookie hour at the end of the day, and Dean Callahan shows up to talk to each applicant personally. I'm sure you can ask any questions/tell her anything that she needs to know in person on interview day.

thank you.

Didn't someone in an earlier post on this thread say Dr. Callahan would speak with you if you wanted to discuss your application with her? I'm too lazy to go back and look, but maybe someone else remembers that...

Yes, I believe she does. But typically only AFTER a decision has been made. I.e. you've been waitlisted or rejected and want pointers on what you could do better (assuming you're going to apply the next cycle).

3.5ish 40ish mcat ivy league undergrad... been complete since mid august and i havent heard anything from any of the philadelphia schools.. temple drexel jefferson penn... im sad because i think i'd really love living in philadelphia but im guessing they just havent gotten through all of the applications yet..

Just got an invite, so excited. 😀

Does Jefferson only conduct interviews on Wednesdays?
