anyone have know the location of a match list for this school? thanks!

You can search for the match list on MCW's site. Or on this site, however, since I posted it this year, here.

As a piece of advice to everyone here:
DO NOT USE THE MATCH LIST OF ANY SCHOOL TO DETERMINE WHICH SCHOOL YOU ATTEND. DO NOT USE IT TO SWAY YOU IN ANY WAY!

"Dude" I'd accept... "man," I do not... Does my avatar really look like a guy?

They don't provide it at the interview, but it's readily available on SDN.

And your assessment is exactly why you shouldn't base anything on a match list. You don't know how many people didn't match, got one of their last choices, or matched into a back up specialty.

sorry about that, at first glance your avatar looks like a cute kid, didnt really stop to see if it was supposed to be male or female so i just chose male by default.

That match list looks really ambitious. How do they grade at this school? can everyone in the class get honors? thnaks

where are we supposed to meet for the shuttle from the airport to the med school at 8pm?

Is it carousel 8?

I didn't get an e-mail for instructions.

help please, thanks.

If you have questions about the curriculum, go to the allo class threads.

How it was when I was there is not relevant, since things probably changed. M1s/M2s can explain how things work now.

wow, ok, well excuse me...

how late into the year are they filling spots for the md program still? i've read on here that they start interviewing for waitlist spots. if that is true, what is the estimated start date that they start doing that?? just using years past stats.

You can always check out last year's version of this thread and look that up.

February-ish

why?

not that i would pick based on this criteria, but since you seem to feel so strongly about it, i was just curious.

It's the same thing every year when the match lists come out. People don't know what people wanted to do. You don't know how many people applied for one field and had to scramble to another. You don't know how many people who are top of the class, AOA are in Family Med or Peds because that's what they want to do. You don't know how many people applied to multiple specialties and ended up in one that wasn't their top choice. Or how many people who ended up at a place low on their list. You also don't know why there are those who deferred residency... was it because they didn't match? Or did they not even apply? You also may not know which programs are small names but totally amazing in their specialty.

No, I will not go into the details for my class. I typed up the list because I was bored earlier this year.

As far as I'm concerned, and I've thought this since I was a premed, there is no use in seeing a match list unless you know people in a class, then you can see where your friends ended up.

Sorry, was post call, and didn't know the current answer. I tried to direct you to a place that could help.

I actually toned my post-call response down a lot. It still doesn't seem too bad to me. I pointed you in a direction to find info since the MCW class threads have the reputation of being extremely active.

Congrats! Nothing here yet, so...damn. Dates available for interview?

congrats. i was smalled pooled 8-18 as well. haven't heard anything yet. still waiting with fingers crossed.

Finally out of the small pool!!!
(8/18)

so excited!

to my knowledge, i was not given a choice. early December or nothing

buuuuuut I'll take it!

made my day.

hopefully i will hear something soon, since it seems a lot of 8-18 small pooled applicants are hearing today. good news if december interview dates are still open.

def... but remember. Call fast (when) you get it.

they actually say

"interview invitations do not guarantee an interview"

blows my mind thinking about it

correction:

An invitation does not guarantee an interviewing spot.

your kidding, so they invite you to interview and if you don't call soon enough you could lose your spot, seems a little crazy.

scroll up this thread, i think there actually have been situations like that already

I took it to mean that you lose your spot on the day(s) that they give you to choose from initially, ie you have to wait. But even if it does mean that they actually rescind your invitation, other schools (Georgetown comes to mind, and there are others) will also take away your invitation if you don't respond by a certain date.

yes. but with rolling, that may be deadly.

how long do they give you to respond? and how far in advance do they notice you of your first possible day to interview. Rosalind Frankline emailed me an interview and the first scheduled date was one week from the invite, so i schedule a little later one to allow time to plan and get hotel and transportation set up.

well i got the interview today for dec11. IRC, a previous poster called 4 hours after the invite and didnt get a spot

small pooled sometime in august.

just got the interview invite for 12/11

gawd.... another east coast trip for 1 school? this is really starting to weigh on my wallet.

I would hardly call Milwaukee the east coast. I know it's fly-over country, but come on man.

Small pooled on 8/19 and no word since. It's been 3 months!! I feel like this is way too long but a lot of people I know are in the same boat. Is MCW just naturally late in inviting their bulk applicants to interview or are they the kind of school that just doesn't let you know you are rejected until April? How long into the year does MCW interview? Later March/Early April? Thanks for any insight.

LOL. Is it one of those situations where radio stations play a game like: "Congratulations you've been approved for a chance at an interview, just be the 10th caller after you hear the Dean of Admissions say 'oh my god, they killed kenny!!' and that interview is yours!!"

I haven't even heard if I've been small pooled, large pooled, rejected, etc. How did you find out you had been small pooled? email? status page?

Email.

I've been small-pooled since early July and still haven't heard anything.... Doesn't look good.

Hey congrats all you 8/18 small poolers that got the invite today! I am beginning to get pretty lonely in this shrinking pool 😳

I feel like a little kid waiting to be picked up by his parents that completely forgot about him.

I feel like a little kid waiting to be picked up by his parents that completely forgot about him.

my parents did that to me at one of my sister's soccer tournaments. Only they didn't forget to pick me up, they LEFT me there. It took them the half hour to get home before realizing I was gone. It turned out ok though, because the concession stand people fed me to make me stop crying (I was maybe 5) and I get to hold it over my parents' heads still.

Good luck getting out of the small pool!

do they tell you right away if you are not going to be interviewed, therefore rejected, or wait till the end of the season?? hoping to get out of the small pool, they are not feeding me any food in the mean time either

They send you an email saying you've been small pooled. They don't update through your "status" tab on the secondary app. If you haven't heard anything yet I'd say it would not hurt to give them a call to see where you are at.

I'm from ALASKA and am going to be in the area Dec 9-Dec12....

I'm currently small pooled (30mcat/3.98gpa)...should I call them and see if they can perhaps interview me while I'm around.

My trip from Alaska is around 900 so...want to hit up more than just 1 school

i'd say that's a pretty legitimate reason. i wouldn't think it would hurt your chances at all.

1- congrats on the invite! i see our schools continue to overlap (I met He2 @ UIC) :hello:

2- while it's true spots fill up right away, they also open up too because i think people change their mind and withdraw. i called, like, the second i got the email and got the date i wanted. later that day it filled up. a month later, like a week before the date, it was an option again for the people who just got invited. so who knows.

3- good luck everyone 🙂

So I called MCW since I will be in the area. They were very nice and told me if a spot opens up Dec 11 I get to interview.

Bummer is that I need to get my plane tix soon so...🙁

that's pretty cool that they would fit you in. you have good stats and nothing against you personally, but i don't see how calling in should allow applicants to interview (assuming someone cancels) when others are waiting for their name to be called for an interview too.
