haha this is messing with my brain...i meant to say EST but every single time wrote central....perhaps if i dont get in, this could be a reason 😛
 
has anyone tried calling the ad office - can we rule out a late night for them?
 
No late night emails guys just go out read study sleep just leave this place
 
This reminds me of the mcat all over again....:scared::scared:
 
So I checked my email before sdn and definitely thought I was rejected...glad I get to do this all over again until who knows when! This is so nerve-racking :scared:

I'm sure they have all the emails saved ready to send and the acceptance packets lined up and are checking the thread enjoying all of this...:meanie:
 
So now we have NO idea when they are sending out acceptances, or whether they are even emailing us, right? If so GREAT! +pissed+

No i called today they said they are "mailing" letters tomorrow. The only thing thats confusing us is if any emails will be sent prior to the arrival of an snail mail. Either way, some form of communication will be mailed tomorrow.
 
I disagree with their timing, sending them out right as many schools go on spring break--I won't be at my school address to find out what their decision is, unless they do email acceptances and I do get one, til a week and a half later. Rawr.
 
This may not apply here, but when I got accepted into UVA it was via snail mail, THEN i got an email 2 weeks or so later. So maybe we're looking in the wrong place?
 
At this point, I'd drive to Iowa city to get my letter rather than wait the 5 days it will take the post office to send the letter 90 miles to my place.
 
Damn man. I feel so weird right now- can't be happy, can't be upset, more than apathetic. It's like emotional purgatory

All I have to say is that if I end up getting in I am promising myself never to be one of those med students who are always complaining about medical school. Because how we all feel right now REALLY SUCKS!

Letter came today -- great surprise after a 12 hour work day!

I only wish I wasn't too tired to celebrate.

Congratulations Dr. Hawk did you receive a letter in the mail or an email?
 
holy crap. Is this a wrench or what? Did they mail the decisions early? i doubt he would say letter if it was an email. I think i feel sick.

It was snail mail..
The post date was 3/8/10.

I'm confused as to why more acceptances haven't been posted..
 
oh wow. I think i'm gonna just stop being neurotic over this. If it's snail mail, it may not get to me for another 4 or 5 days maybe. I'm on the east coast.I think there are a number of IS'ers in here, maybe it just hasn't gotten to them yet.We were all banking on emails all day today.I think i should just abandon any faith in whatever happened the preceding year. Thanks Doc. Congrats again.
 
No worries, don't get too stressed.

I purposefully haven't gotten too involved in SDN because I was afraid it would take over my life. But I figured some people could use some encouragement and that, YES, carver is accepting students for medical school!

Did the snail mail come in a large envelope or just a regular small envelope?:scared:
 
well I'm just confused as anything now.

I guess I'll leave my gmail alone and start harassing my dad and the mailman.
 
It's safe to say I'm ready for this part of the process to be over. I guess I'm hoping to get something in the mail today or tomorrow. Drhawk, do you live close to IC? I'm 1.5 hours away and have not received anything yet. I'm surprised no other in-staters have reported anything.

I just called the admissions office this morning and she said the letters went in the mailbox this morning. Emails for accepted students go out tomorrow.
 
Admissions also told me they were mailed this morning. I didn't ask about emails. drhawk may have been pulling our leg, or he/she is just very special.

I was in Iowa City this morning when I saw DrHawk's post and drove very quickly the 60 miles back to my apartment and ran like a goof ball whenever I wasn't in the car... only to find no letter.

Seriously, Iowa, just email everyone.

On a lighter note, whats up with them using USPS instead of email for the final pool? Seems like everything else (application, fee, letters, interview request, prior acceptances) were emails (followed up with letters). During the rolling phase, they didn't make people wait for letters, what happened to the love!

I live 60 miles from IC (between IC and DM) and didn't get anything in the mail. I think the post office has been by my apartment already today, so maybe he just got luck? Or is at UI? (intra-campus mail would go faster).
 
Do you think a letter would make it to Kansas by tomorrow?? lol. I'm not patient enough for an email... especially if it's going to be sent late in the day again when I'm WORKING... last night was awful having to work when I was constantly thinking about what kind of activity was happening in my inbox... I had no access to a computer/my email until like 9:30pm!! Let's just hope they decide to press that little "send" button before 4 tomorrow. :xf:

haha good point... i was trying to say don't worry about the future too much and/or regret the past. Learn from your mistakes and focus all your energy on achieving your goals not wasting your energy on being anxious and nervous.

Good movie. But not a very nice thing to say. 🙁 I hope you were kidding, and aren't really using movie quotes to insult someone. At least he actually composed what he wrote himself.
