Got an email a few hours ago about the OOS waitlist. I started out 78 and am at 60 now. No idea if it's moving or if people just dropped off of it though.

I got one too... started at 42 and now I'm 33... I don't believe the waitlist is actually "moving" though... this is just from people dropping off the list. A few posts ago someone said they were still over accepted for OOS by 49 people. So all those people have to bail before the list starts really moving.
 
this thread is dead lately, has anybody heard any good news?

I am excited to meet a lot of you this weekend at 2nd look. Also, someone just created a facebook group recently. Its titled "University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine Class of 2014" so you can search that and it should come up!
 
Hey All - I was just wondering if anyone has received any confirmation or any e-mail after you registered for 2nd look. I have not received anything and I think that's fine, but I was just making sure I wasn't missing anything! Thanks
 
Has anyone recieved any financial aid award information or know where to go to see what our costs are going to be?

With the coupon on their website you can get it for only 10,000 easy payments of 19.99
 
Anyone back from the revisit day? How was it?
 
log in to you isis then you'll find it under financial aid status
 
Mine shows COA as well as financial aid award though.... Although I only have loans, no grants...
 
I'm withdrawing from Iowa... great school though, enjoy IC for me! Hopefully one of you gets my scholly. :luck:

Yeah, I'll be attending the University of Michigan next year. I really liked Iowa though, and I know you guys will have a great time in Iowa City if you decide to attend Carver. It really is a great school. 👍

Not to be intrusive, but you had a seat in the class as an IS or OOS? I'm curious if I'm moving up in the wait list!!😱

Wow, U of M! Congrats, man. I got rejected pre-interview even though that's where I work right now. Cool beans.
 
Anyone asked about their wait list status lately? I asked last week and had moved 6 spots.

I'm going to contact them this week. From what I know, I've moved 3 spots (IS), which puts me in the very low teens. It sounds as if the OOS waiting list is moving pretty rapidly!

I emailed them today, I've moved 8 spots, started low 20s now mid teens.

I emailed last week and received the same information. I went from mid teens to high single digits- but only moved seven spots. She was very encouraging in saying that they expect more movement closer to the 15th of May. I'm digging the movement! 😀

I am extremely happy to announce Iowa has taken at least 13 off of the IS WL, because I was accepted this morning! Skadoosh!

Sweet!! Congrats! You make me happy, but for a selfish reason: I'm a few spots behind you!!!

I'm emailing them now to get an update. Will let ya'll know later today.😀

Update: I'm in the top 4! Went from mid teens so there has been at least 13 spots as of this morning.

Just gave up my OOS spot, hope some of you guys will receive the happy email today 😀

My major reason to give up is the COA, it's 65k for OOS and I didn't get any scholarships, sigh...

I was really hoping to make this program, but I've had a very turbulent last few months and pushed the application (essay) literally to the deadline and beyond..😡

I would have benefited from improving study skills and time management.. I'm a "proscrastinator extraordinaire" and I really want to kick this habit b4 med school.. I guess I'll read some self-help books and see if workshops in my Univ or nearby ones...

Hey everyone,

So with one week left they are still over accepted by 28 for the OS waitlist.
 
I just called the office and the OOS list is over accepted by 19 now!! progress!! Now I'm just hoping that all 19 of those people change their minds and then 30 more do the same from the wait list!! lol.

Hows it coming for in-staters on the alternate list? I think I've moved about 15 spots total.

I am OOS and just withdrew to go to Case Western. Good luck to all. I really liked Iowa and it was a hard decision. Its a great school. 🙂
 
Just withdrew from Iowa this morning, just can't see myself living in Iowa after being on the East Coast for so long.

WOOHOO!!! I must have gotten your slot. I received an email this morning and they took me from the wait list!!

For those of you still on the IS waiting list- good luck!! It's moved at least 16 spots now.
