I think about 30 accepted people will turn down OU acceptance offer for sure. I'd be surprised if at least 30 didn't. I would assume that if you were in the top 30 wait list, you have a good chance

I'm hoping for the best, although my luck with any sort of admissions has never been the best.
They have raised the GPA. My princeton review book had an average of 3.69 but the MSAR books of recent years have a 3.8 GPA.
wow, so lets take the average! haha 😀
I wonder how many students decline the waitlist? I would think that #60 on the list could be accepted even if only 40 people are taken from the list because 20 people ahead of him declined the waitlist. I mean, there's got to be a reason that 60 - 90 people are placed on the waitlist most years. What do you guys think?
I think the worst part is not knowing where you are at on the waitlist. If they told me I was 60, I could move on and make other plans. Yet if you are in the top ten, you know you are in pretty good shape.
I'm the same way..if I don't hear back by June then I'm going to go ahead and decline the waitlist. I've got a masters program that I'd like to attend and I think it'd be hard for me to make plans and focus on the masters program if I'm clinging onto the hope of getting into OU. I'm just not sure if I would have to notify Dotty to be removed from the WL or if I would simply decline if I were accepted in July.
Has anyone called the admissions office to see when they are going to send out the letters?
I emailed and they responded with: Letters will be mailed on March 2nd.

Any estimates on how long it will take the mail to get to Tulsa? I know I'm being a little impatient, but I just can't help it.
but this is all assuming that on the 2nd, they send out the letters before the actual mail goes out. if they mail it out at the end of the business day then you would probably get it no earlier than the 4th, no?
they actually have a website to estimate it.
however I think instate is generally a day. So If I was to guess it would be the 3rd.
If your curious

obsession at it's finest
So, who knows which address they send it too? Do they send it to your permenant address or your current/mailing address?
Like am I going to have to wait for my parents to realize they have a very important peice of mail for me? Or will they send it to me in TX?
Somebody should call and ask if we could save them postage fees and just pick it up at the school tomorrow.
I bet it's because they don't want to see my happy dance if I get the red one, it's not pretty.
Were you by chance able to find out how many spots they ended up offering? Was it above the 40 spots originally assumed.
I heard 40 from one source and slightly under 40 from another. Neither source I'm willing to vouch for
40 of the potential 180 roughly deferred.
Man that's harsh I for sure thought they would offer like around 60 or 70 spots.
Like I said, sources are suspect
Um, they can't offer more spots then what's available in the class. They have to waitlist the rest they want and then take people off the waitlist when spots open in the class. Even though im sure plenty of people will turn down spots, its unethical to offer more than they have available.
well it sounds right because the economy might have pinched the med school funds. Since the state funds the medical school essentially covering a huge portion of instate tuitions I'm sure that the state might have asked for some cuts from the medical school because there's like a huge budget crisis for the state. Their cutting pretty basic things just from public schools like teaching children spanish in Middle School (At least their strongly considering it).
