lack of WL yes, but lack of rejections in light of recent explosive rejections may mean they do not reject anyone interviewed this early in the cycle...which is good and WL = good at pitt cause they accept so many off of it...but that's just random speculation of course
 
Okay, now I'm sad. 🙁 Please, Pitt, please! I'm waiting on Pitt to make a decision on something...I gotta know!!

Guys...it's ok, lets be a little more patient about this, we have been waiting for soo long this whole process, what is a couple of days, go do something else that'll keep your mind off of it and before you know it, it'll be friday

I'm not expecting to hear from Pitt quite this soon, but Jimmy Eat World sums up my feelings from this whole process:

why are you crying about pitt if you already have seven acceptances? kind of both selfish and annoying.

Getting into a school already definitely makes the waiting easier, but we all still want to get into the schools we've made it this far with. I personally like Pitt a lot and though I've been accepted elseware I care a lot about the admissions decision Pitt will give me. You seriously can't blame people for wanting to get into a school they like, even if they've gotten in somewhere else.

As I sit here with zero acceptances, I kind of feel the same way, but I know that this might be some people's top choice or close to it. Everyone is welcome to be anxious, but I think those of us with no acceptances are allowed to be more anxious...😀

I understand wanting to get into a certain school. However, coming on the internet and whining about a specific school after you're already guaranteed a spot elsewhere isnt going to help anyone. good luck though

People who posted rejections today, did you receive notification today? I'm trying to tease out the theory of pre-interview rejections yesterday, acceptances today, and possibly post-interview rejections or waitlists tomorrow. : /

Looked at last year's thread. It seems as if acceptances went out in waves, along with waitlists. But yeah, I'm kinda thinking waitlist right now because my interview wasn't about me.. it became about my interviewer's research.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. People like to talk about themselves, and they're happy when they get the opportunity to do so...
 
Yeah my interview was pretty awful, but I chalk it up to being my first one 🙁
My interviewer kept asking why I want to go into Psychiatry, and in no way had I ever mentioned wanting to go into that field and that wasn't even in my top three choice of fields to interview with, so it went down hill from there...but everyone's optimism for another wave of acceptances is encouraging, hooray for online forums!
 
I think it's important to note that this is the first year they've waited till November to give out the decisions. So I don't think any of us can feel sure about predicting anything.

So let's just be optimistic 🙂

At my Case interview, all we did was talk about interesting stuff from my interviewer's life. He basically told me stories. It was a lot of fun but I didn't know what to think...but I got in. So I wouldn't put much stock in how you "felt" necessarily...just approach it from a completely neutral stand-point, I say!

Yeah, that's true..It's probably going to be a mix of acceptances, WLs, and rejections all week
 
It's hard to read into any of this. Depending on when your interviewers got your reviews back, it may have delayed your file review at committee. Keep your hopes up!

I interviewed the second week of September, so I sort of doubt that they haven't reviewed me yet, especially considering people who interviewed in October have already been accepted.

I interviewed with you and have also not heard from them. I hope we hear some good news tomorrow. 🙂

Any thoughts on them just going through a massive list alphabetically? I mean, if they have to individually pull our app, personalize the letter, fill out the packet, then go to our on-line file and update the status, maybe someone only does that for a few hours a day, when they have time. So, anyone who's received any word, put just the first letter of your last name. We'll see if they're close to the front of the alphabet.
 
Rejections went out last Sunday, and acceptances went out yesterday. If the pattern continues, the wait listed ones should hear today. We'll see...

How come you know so much about the inner workings of Pitt?

Btw, it was pre-interview people and not post-interview people that got rejected

Rejected this morning via status page... Yikes. I thought my interviews went really well but apparently the interviewers saw it differently:laugh:. Congrats to everyone accepted and wait-listed. Pitt was my top choice.

yea i've learned to hedge my emotions by at least predicting waitlists for everything. so far i've been right or better and i think my instincts have definitely digitally impressed the women.

but anyway, if life gives you lemons you just have to cut it up into little pieces put one in a bottle of corona, put your thumb inside the bottle 👎, tilt, remove thumb 👍 and enjoy the beverage 😳. cuz why not. i think pitt takes a decent amount from the waitlist anyway :xf:

I'll agree with that Corona. Pitt does take a large number of people off the waitlist....but the whole limbo thing is annoying. You have some other acceptances right? Makes it a breeze to shrug off.

Accepted! Checked my status this morning. Very happy about this. Wow... interview oct 14th
