Dude, if you think Madison is such a "homogeneous little vacuum of a town" then why didn't you go to "an actual city" instead and save the rest of us your whining? The people on this thread actually WANT to go to UW because it's a great school and the city of Madison actually has a very unique culture with a lot to offer. By the way, it is an actual city having over 200,000 people.
ericL is a medical student at UW, and because of his personal experiences there, he knows what he's talking about. You haven't. Wait until you get in, go there, and then come back and share your thoughts with us. At the same time, please don't criticize others' personal experiences and opinions. After all, everyone has different opinions. ericL may come from a very diverse city; therefore, he thinks that the town of UW isn't as diverse as his hometown. Someone who comes from a rural country may probably find the town diverse. We all are different. But, please be respectful to the others.
