I know people that have been offered waitlist spots and aren't taking them, so I think things are starting to move a bit.

Fantastic! Are they moving on IS or OOS? both?

That's wonderful news. Do you mind saying how many people you know that have been offered spots from the waitlist, if they are IS or OS, and what rank they were?

Cuz I'm #5 on IS and I haven't heard a thing.
Crossing my fingers that we will all hear soon!

True true.... But considering the consequences of more people avcepting their offers vs. The number of available spots open, they probably make sure they don't accept too many people and would rather take more people from the waitlist. I hope to see more movement in both lists...

Agreed, they probably know about what percentage of OOS offers will actually accept. Let's hope both lists see some good movement.

Hey drizz...thanks for all your info. If you know anything more (like whether it was IS or OOS waitlist movement) those of us on the waitlist would really appreciate it!

I am #1 on the OOS waitlist, so I can tell you that the OOS list hasn't moved yet,

I talked to Lucy about a month ago, and she told me they try to keep the OOS/IS ratio consistent (~15% OOS if I remember). I saw that last year they only accepted 2 OOSers from the waitlist. She didn't give me any idea of what they usually accept other than being in the top 15 is probably the limit for the OOS list. I'm trying to be optimistic that there will be some good movement this year. Who knows.

I'm asking because Beth Menzer called me today...unfortunately I got her message after it was already too late to call her back to see what she wanted!
I REALLY REALLY HOPE THIS MEANS AN ACCEPTANCE.
Any info you have would really help put my mind at ease because I don't know if I can possibly wait until tomorrow morning!

Madison does have a lot to offer- I think as time moves on, your fiance will find it is a great place to live. Just move a little early (there are always lots of sublets available during summer) and explore the area together before you start.

Congrats!!! See you in August, or before if you will be around!

I have some terrible news for OOS waitlisters.

I called admissions and was told the OOS list probably will not move and letters about it will be sent next week.

I feel all of your pain. I just finished taking a statistics course just for UW, after just graduating last June. Atleast now I know what confidence intervals are 😛

Just wanted to post for all you IS waitlisters out there....got the call with an offer this morning, #11 on the in state list. This is my number one choice, so happy! I'll see you all in August!

thanks for the encouragement, but I've already received the rejection letter last week, so it's pretty certain that no one will come off of the OOS waitlist. For those who got in from IS waitlist, congrats! 😀

weird so i guess at this point if oos ppl withdraw they wont be replacing them?

In a word, no. Us cellular is prob the best.
