How stringent are they on their undergrad non-science letter of recommendation?
so how is everyone getting from greensbro airport to WFU? Is there a shuttle that would be cheaper than taking a taxi that would cost $30 each way...
The website isn't super clear, but it seems like it is possible to get around using public transportation. I haven't really figured out the exact process yet though.Wake Forest University said:Welcome to the Interview Information page for the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Below you will find links that provide pertinent information for your first visit. If you have questions about the information pertaining to these links please contact us by phone or e-mail.
Transportation to the airport using the PART systemwww.PARTnc.org
We can provide free van service in the afternoons if we are given the applicants name and call the van service by 1:00p.m. They will be picked up at Eden Terrace at 3:30pm and taken downtown to the transportation pub.
There is also public transportation (WSTA) available at $1.00 a ride. We have the schedule for that. It is route 20.

The PART bus leaves the transportation hub at the designated times and takes the passengers to their hub on highway 68 and I 40 in Greensboro. They have a PART bus that goes to the airport from their hub. One of their buses goes to the airport every 30 minutes in the morning, every hour during the midday, and every 30 minutes from 3-6:30pm. There is no fee for transferring. This whole process takes about 45 minutes.
Transportation to the medical school using the PART system
For those applicants incoming, the PART system can be accessed at the baggage claim. Give them a call, tell them you have arrived and allow an hour for pick up. They will send a bus to pick up and take you to the hub where the express bus to Winston-Salem can be accessed. The charge for the pick up and ride to Winston-Salem's transportation hub is $2.00
In the morning, we do not have van service available. The WSTA bus service can be accessed there at the transportation hub at a $1.00 a ride. The route number is 20.
If you choose to use a taxi service or PTI shuttle service, you can expect to pay $50.00 to $100.00 one way. Renting a car is also an option if you are eligible.

Do you guys know how about long it takes them to count you as complete after your letters have been sent by AMCAS? Assuming your letters were sent after your secondary/fee payment?
Cool thanks. Does the complete status show up on your status page? Or does it still say something along the lines of "all materials needed to complete your secondary have been received, once letters are received and added in processing of your application will begin"?
I sent in my stuff a few days ago. Anyone know how quick the turnaround is? I'd love to get an interview there in September if possible. But maybe that's asking too much.

september dates are all full. today when i called all they had was the 30th.
I have no idea when to schedule my interview. Too. Many. Interviews. At. Once.
haha at least it's better than the opposite problem of having no interviews to schedule😛

I know they have my letters, or I would imagine since every other AMCAS letter school does. Why won't they just update me?! I want an interview here really bad.
It's only been about a week since my status changed, but I'm impatient. Hahah
Ah! A week and nothing yet?? I just got the status that they received my signature and fee today. I can't take this waiting anymore.
Summary of my experience with Wake:

I'm in the same boat as you. I figured that I got it in as fast as I could, so it wouldn't take them this long. ArghhAbout the same time for me. I'm still waiting for my "complete" email so I can't even hold my breath for an interview. Just wish they would mark me complete since they definitely have had my letters for a while.
this is a really really stupid question, but does "hometown" mean city you were born in or city you live in currently?
I put city I currently live in. Other applications used "birth city" so I took this to mean current city....
October 1st. 😀
Got Oct 1st! That'll be fun. Any other SDNers want to party it up then?

I submitted my online secondary on August 6th and mailed out the attachment the same day. I still have no complete email. Is it too soon to call?
Around 1pm today I got the complete email and my status said the "the review of your application will begin, please allow 1-2 weeks for this review" or something. Just checked my status again and it has now changed to
"Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March. If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview."
Does this mean they've completed reviewing my app in a few hours?![]()
Wake completing anything in less than 2 weeks? Come on, surely you've learned better than that by now. 😉
Hmm.. maybe the whole "processing letters" thing is just smoke and mirrors for while they're actually reviewing your application. Anyhow, it seems like at least a few SDNers got that same status message and got an interview soon after. So I'm not sure if it really means much one way or the other, other than, don't be surprised if you hear something soon. Good luck.
Does anyone know if the "If you are invited for an interview..." status is good, bad, or indifferent? I've had this status for like a month it seems. I think that if they liked what I had to offer they would have sent me an interview invite by now.
