Just got an interview invite today! After seeing all the posts in this thread about getting an interview by calling the admissions office to check on their app status, I tried it myself. I was bummed because all they told me was that my app is complete, which I took to mean that I am not in the "top interview pool".

2 days later, though, my status online said to call to set up an interview (did not receive an email)!! I AM SO EXCITED!😀

So don't give up hope if they are not very responsive when you call.

Anyone else interviewing here Nov. 6?

I just tried calling, and all I got was "You are complete and will get an email if we invite you to interview." Hopefully I have the same luck as you!
 
I can't access the application status page...do you think that means they're updating it??? 😛 wishful thinking I suppose
 
How do you get to the application status page? I was never sent that link or anything (that's not good lol). The last thing I got was just an email saying that we will review your application and let you know if you get an interview. Thanks

That's the link to the applicant portal. You are supposed to be able to click on the image and log into the application status page, but I haven't been able to do that today.

ummm yea, i guess i need to start sending them some love letters. i'll practice it on you first, when you trade me lebron i'll know i've got it right :laugh:
 
So, I'm having a little bit of a problem with the my application, if anyone can offer advice I would appreciate it...

I sent an update letter to Wake last week by snail mail and then called this Monday to see if they had received it yet. The person who picked up my call put me on hold for like 5 minutes, and then came back on and told me they had received it and it was with my file. Everything sounds fine, right? Well it was, until Tuesday's mail arrived at my house, and lo and behold there was my letter returned to me due to inadequate postage. 😱

So, obviously they did not receive it as they said. I decided to e-mailed the letter to them as an attachment, which I did on Wednesday, and in the e-mail I just said I wanted to add an update letter to my file and could they please reply and confirm they received it. Now it is Friday, and I have not received a reply of any kind. Should I call again and check if it is in my file? I don't want to be a crazy stalker pre-med person, but I want to be sure this letter actually makes it into my file. Also, if I do call, I'm not sure if I should specify to the person I talk with that I was already told once incorrectly that they received my letter and could they be sure to really check...

Help!

how much longer after your application was marked complete did you receive invites for interviews???

Not at all. But I had my primary in pretty early...took them a little while longer to send me a secondary, so I assumed I might be one of those people that would be reassessed much much later in the year since I was in pretty early. I also wasn't sure if they even sent complete emails. I'm not assuming at all about this process, but since I didn't know their time frame for responding I just didn't expect anything. Not sure if it makes sense, but I just took the easy way out and expected the worst so I wouldn't obsess about it.
 
There definitely is student hosting. Call the admissions office and they'll set you up with someone.
 
I'm in, found out last thursday - a week before they said we would.

What week days does Wake Interview? and were there any days left in early December?

I think they had days for Monday/Wednesday/Friday- I can't remember what they said about Tuesday/Thursday/weekends. As of last week, I'm pretty sure they had early December dates open...
 
Just withdrew my application and canceled my interview. I hope that someone else gets it. Good luck everybody!
 
For any of you who are accepted--did you guys receive your financial aid forms already?
 
Dang... I called to day and they said I'm not in the interview pool that is being looked at right now for interviews. When I called they didn't tell me about which pool I was in. I had to ask about the pool.

Since they say they have more people in the interview pool than they can ever actually interview, pretty safe to assume you should not expect to hear back from WF with an interview invitation...trust me, it is their loss, not yours.

I emailed them a letter of interest and they got back to me with an email the next business day saying they got it and would pass it on. So I would definitely check if I were you, seems like their normal procedure would be to confirm. Good luck!! Lets hope these letters help us out :xf:
 
Has anyone received pre-interview rejections? I'm just trying to figure out if I should put this on my growing list of possible "silent rejections" 🙁

I called a few weeks back and was told I was at the "top of the interview pool" but haven't gotten the invite I was sure was coming my way yet.... sux b/c I really wanted to check out this school!

I was wondering how long it has taken people to get the email with interview information after they have scheduled their interview? Is it like a couple days?
 
I've called twice asking for my status - 2nd time I even asked specifically about which pool I was in and got nothing more than the what is on my status page.

I would at least like to know if I'm in the wrong pool.
 
The committee met yesterday to decide the fate of those who interviewed. They might also go through some pre-interview applications?
I interviewed end of October and I am eagerly awaiting their decision

Same here. It is really frustrating. I don't know if it's a difference of who answers the phone, or what... 👎
 
I've been complete since 10/16...anybody else around that time hear anything? How long does it typically take to hear from WFUSM?

I'm not sure if there is a "typical" length of time ... it took me over 3 months from being complete to be invited to an interview, but it seems to take other people a matter of days. It might depend on when their committee meets and/or how badly they want you compared to the group of applications they are reviewing at the time. Apparently sometimes calling them or emailing them about it has some effect, according to some people here, but that was not my experience.
 
I'm interviewing this Thursday, the 19th and am super excited! Anyone else?
 
how soon after the committee meets so you hear, and does anyone know how many interviewees are in each block? I know they said they accept between 15-20 from each block so I am curious what the odds are, my guess would be 50/50 since the statistics from last year showed half of all interviewees received offers for admission.

that 50% includes waitlisted people that eventually get accepted though. so i'd say it might be more like a 25% chance of getting accepted outright. i think they let you know fairly soon after the committee meets what the result is-maybe like 1-3 days after.

I was complete August 14th and received the invite email October 5th, so I don't think I was necessarily at the top of their list, but who knows! I'm also a non-trad (MBA with a current career in business) and am not sure how that's affected my applications. Good luck!
