Sent 8/1, rejected 8/28, without a LOR request. 🙁 Goodbye mayo, I will always think 'what could have been'.
 
Has anyone gotten a LOR request recently? If so, when did you send in your payment? I got a Fee Received email 8/19, and am trying to figure out when I should start to worry. I know I just need to relax and wait for it, but it's tough.

My fee was received on 7/19 and I still haven't heard anything - good or bad.

ya my honeymoon period is about to be over aamc getting my letters this week so im crossing my fingers for an interview. LOR was on 7/30 thanks to my premed committee im a month behind from the decision....plz good news Mayo you are my first choice ...:xf:

I had a 7/22 LOR received email and only received the invitation invite last week. The waiting game really has negative pressure.

you dont need to do that cuz if your letters are on AMCAS already no action is needed from you. how would you send them anyway cuz they download it. So I would just wait
 
The process is a long game and you're just getting started! Stay calm, enjoy the ride. Everything happens for a reason.

Letter request this morning! Does anyone know how long it took to get any news after this point I'm just wondering how long I should wait patiently vs. checking my email a hundred times a day.

Congrats! Based on other people's reports, it'll likely be several weeks, maybe a month. When was your fee payment received, by the way?

If I get an interview, what are the chances that it will be before December?
 
All interviews at Mayo are completed between Sept 10 and the middle of December, so it is more likely that it would be before Dec.

Do all applicants who receive LOR requests receive an interview invitation as long as there are no major red flags in those LORs?

These figures have been quoted elsewhere in the thread:

4000 apply
800 get LOR requests
250-300 get interviews
~72 are offered acceptances (including from alternate list)

personal statement is not read until after LORs are received.

42 MD-only spots available.

Less than half of the people with LOR requests get an interview. It's doubtful they're just looking for red flags. It seems like some careful consideration goes into deciding who to interview.

I thought they increased the class size to 50 spots?

any idea on how many people they reject LOR request vs. leave in limbo? My fee was received 7/27 and no word from them yet, getting a touch antsy

It seems unlikely that they intend to just leave people in limbo forever. Other people in this thread report having gotten an email saying they were no longer being considered. You (and I, for that matter) haven't gotten such an email yet, nor have we gotten a LOR email. It's not bad news, but it's not good news. They just wanna make us quiver with antici..... pation, I guess.
 
Rejected earlier this week, pre-LOR. Paid fee Aug 5th.

Congrats to y'all with interviews.

Is your primary app verified? Did you send it to Mayo? You should get a fee request (allegedly if your MCAT + 10*GPA >= 60) or a rejection letter very shortly after Mayo receives your verified primary. If you're good to go and haven't heard from them for a while, you might want to call or email and see what's up.

Thanks for your prompt reply. My primary application was verified about a month ago. I just wrote the MCAT in Aug. Could that be why? I thought they will request the application fee before they look at my primary and MCAT. No rejection letter too. Simply no response. Thanks again.
 
LOR request 9/1/10 as well! Primary submitted 6/1, but took the MCAT a second time on 7/16, so scores were released 8/17, so there was roughly a 2 week turn around... woohoo!

Yeah, they'll probably contact you once they have your MCAT score.
 
My letters are finally in now the wait begins can I get a complete already

submitted fee on July 28
LOR request on August 6
LOR received email on August 17
interview invite on September 4
 
INTERVIEW INVITE THIS MORNING..... wow, first interview and it feels so good. I was beginning to think I would never hear back from anyone.

Stats: 32P, c3.95 s3.81, OOS

Fee received: 7/26
LOR Request: 8/5
LOR Received: 8/17
Interview Invite: 9/3 11:28pm PST

The dates they gave me to choose from are Oct 11th or 15th. SO EXCITED.

Does anyone know how many interview invites Mayo has sent out at this point? Just wondering, since it was stated that around 250-300 people get interviewed at Mayo a year.
 
complete 8/5 and still no word...

it seemed like they were going in order but the recent batch of interviews were complete 8/17

There is no secondary for this school. If they like your AMCAS they will request your LORs, and then if they like those and your PS they will invite you for an interview.
