Looks like spacemanxxx got a scholarship with his offer, so maybe, yeah.
I haven't heard from them yet and I want to SO badly! It sounds like they're sending out emails all through the day; is there any hope?

My understanding is that they have like... x amount of scholarships, and just keep handing them out down the list as people decline acceptances. So in February, when (presumably) a lot of the people at the top of FSoM's list matriculate elsewhere, their scholarships go to next person in their ranking list (like me!).
$15K/year is pretty sweet. Especially when that covers basically all of tuition. Congrats!

The Texas Techs decide the evening of your interview whether they'll accept you or not, right? So, will they tell us today what their decision was? Or will the people they decided to waitlist have to wait?
I don't believe that they decide whether to accept you or not, but rather put you in a rank list. Of course the people at the top of their list will naturally get acceptances pre-match, but then the rest is left to the "chance" of the match. As I understand it, if people match to schools they rank higher than Tech, then spots will be opened up and the acceptance will be given to the next person on the list until everything is filled up.
This is all assuming that you're in-state, of course, and participate in the match. For OOS students, I have no idea.

I interviewed November 11th.
is anyone interviewing on dec 2nd? ill be there. i hope they will still send out a batch of pre-matches at the end of december!
alrighty. so i called the admissions office to ask about prematch offers. for those who interviewed here before november 11 and did not get a prematch offer on the 15th, sorry to say that we're not getting one so we'll just have to wait until the match. ahhh this sucks! come on february 1!!!
Ick! This is going to be tough... Thanks for telling us... Even though I am now going to be super sad the rest of the day. 🙁 *sniff*

Does anyone know when the first PLFSOM class's USMLE step 1 stats come out? The only thing bothering me is if the school's curriculum can crack the board material as they said it would.
I was wondering the same thing. I interviewed with a guy there whose job was focusing on scores and curriculum alignment-- I'm going to track down his business card and send him an e-mail this afternoon, I'll let you know what I figure out.
Does anyone know what I need to include in my letter of acceptance?

This is all they said and I'm not sure what they mean by with enclosed acceptance form. Should I just print their email? I assume the letter of acceptance should be in hard copy that's mailed to them.

RedRobin, I think we have to wait till hard copy arrives & fill it & send it back. Same happened w/ UTMB. If you are nervous, send an e-mail too. I also recieved TTUHSC merlin account in e-mail that I registered for yesterday & accepted their offer through the merlin account. Did you do that?

As of today, I still haven't gotten anything in the mail.
Yeah, I got a letter last Friday in the mail.. it was pretty much a repeat of the email, and then there was a separate paper where you check whether you accept or decline the offer which you are supposed to mail/fax. But if you decide to decline it, can you just do it through Merlin? Or should I also send them the paper?

Honestly, i was quite impressed with their staff and campus so i am definitely looking into attending, a trickle down scholarship offer wouldnt hurt either. I like how the curriculum is taught and i really like how small the class size will be, i think it will only aid us in our education.
Right now i have one more interview in Houston later next month so we will see but as of now PLFSOM is my top choice.
I interviewed Oct 21st, I think, and it took about 2 weeks or so to show up for me. Just give it time, rankings aren't even due till January 10th.
I know, but i interviewed in late september, or maybe the first week in october... can't quite remember, but it was a while ago

Can anyone remind me of the testing format that El Paso uses? Is it class based like a test on Biochem, then anatomy? or is it test based on the head and neck or the kidney? Or some variation of those put together.

All I specifically remember is weekly quizzes that are supposed to be more for your benefit than for anything else. Might be mistaken though. I think the quizzes are "integrated," so they cover the whole system.
Ya, I remember the quizzes, I just cant remember talking about testing format. I know they do blocks, so I assume its a block test, or something of that nature.

Accepted! I interviewed just last Thursday. I got the email about a half hour before my first scheduled interview at UTHSCSA today. It was a great school with so many friendly people! Personally, I just don't know if I'm willing to spend four years in El Paso, but we'll see. I'd like to see what they have to offer in terms of scholarships, though. Best of luck to all you guys 👍

Just got my first ever interview invite for january 13. I didnot take a minute to confirm. Any help with school info and interview will be great. Do you guys think that school will offer acceptance to late interviwees. I am a texan and will love to go to el paso. Heard some great things about the school.

Congrats. The interview is pretty laid back. It's a nice, but small, campus. If you have any shortcomings in your application be prepared to address them, as both my interviewers asked me about my shortcomings. Other than that, just be yourself.
I'm sure they'll accept people that interviewed late, otherwise they wouldn't have the interview. But you'll have to wait till at least February for the match.

Pre-matched!! Yay!! I got my acceptance email. I checked my email at 2am and I woke up my entire family to celebrate with me!!! 😀This is really surprising cause I just interviewed there last Thursday, so I didn't expect to hear from them for awhile.
SO much stress is off my chest now. I actually love the school, it has really nice simulation labs, the integrated curriculum seems effective. We will see as their first USMLE scores come in this spring semester =D. I know a lot of eyes are on them right now.
