Sigh, not matched 🙁... Oh well, I'm still really hopeful for this school through the rolling admissions

Just got an email from TT el paso saying that I was placed on the alternate list. ".Your inclusion on our alternate list is reflective of our confidence in your potential as a student and future physician." lol obviously I wasn't exactly a first round draft pick though...

yeah, i'd like to know how quickly the alternate list moves usually. i'm very grateful for what i have so far but i wouldn't mind coming here at all if i get in off the alternate list.👍
I got the alternate list email too! I am wondering how many are on it, not like they'll tell us... but I wouldn't think it is many considering they only take 80 students.

Oh, and is the white coat ceremony 7/7? Why does Tech El Paso start so much sooner than other schools?
My parents live abroad and can't come before mid-July. I'll be so sad if they have to miss my white coat ceremony 🙁

Just a few hints for you guys,
You should be getting an email from the admission office in about 2 days or so saying congratulations and stuff. And if i remember correctly, you should be getting a big packet in the mail in about 2 weeks. It has all the information on how to send in your deposits, orientation information, and of course information for white coat ceremony.
For our class, we started at early July too...... orientation, spanish class, some community enrichment courses. This is a period to help you adjust to the environment before overwhelming you with "OMG so epic SPM courses"
A second year student might be sending out some information about housing, but feel free to PM me if you have any questions/concerns.
In the admission packet you will see a "required" book list. In my opinion, don't worry about the books yet. Graduating 4th year or current 2nd year who are moving into their clinical rotation might be selling their books, so just hang on..
The only thing you should worry about right now is your immunization record..... get your shots (ouch........) and if i remember correctly, you need TITER as well.

I got an email from Dr. Schydlower saying congrats. They want you to send an email confirming you accept the match! I sent it to the email Dr. Schydlower used (admissions main email) and received one back saying "thanks, that's all we need for now"
btw I fixed the facebook link up above but here it is again
He sent you an email like yesterday? Or this morning? I know I sent them a confirmation email confirming my pre-match. But as of the match yesterday, I haven't gotten anything from them.
I never got back a response to my email either.

Same here, still nothing via email since my prematch offer. We'll probably be getting a packet in the mail soon. We prob don't get an email since we already confirmed our intentions. I would like some instructions though, not sure what to do next.
Same here. I sent a letter after my pre-match to confirming acceptance but I haven't received anything since then. Should I send an email to Dr. Schydlower anyways?
Hmm, if you guys got pre-matches and said you would take them then that might be why. Did he ever ask you to do a criminal background check? The email they sent had that. Also, I later got an email to set up my eRaider account. If you guys have done all that maybe that's why they didn't send anything? Not too sure, couldn't hurt to send an email just reiterating that you are pleased to accept the position or something like that?
I got the first email (with the background check info, etc) and the IT emails, just no response to my initial reply to the first email. Maybe because I had already accepted the offer on the merlin site.
I didn't match but I'm on the alternate list...still in limbo. 
I just hope it all works out and I can get off of the waitlist!

For those of you on the alternate list, don't give up, we had a good handful in my class get added into June, and I'm sure there are similar stories in the Class of 2014. Seriously though, can't wait till May so I can come out and start looking for a place. One question though, did you have to update your immunizations before coming there or do we have the option of getting them at school. Just curious as I do not have health insurance and it would be mighty expensive I'm guessing.

How did you all find out you were on the alternate list? I thought the list wouldn't be available for a few weeks, at least...
I received an e-mail yesterday around 4:45pm. I think someone called the Lubbock campus and they said it'll be another few weeks before they release a list.
Thanks for that. I tried to go back and read all the posts from the beginning so I'm not asking the same questions twice. For the person who said scholarship offers would be sent out this week, do you know if they'll be sent via snail mail only, or will they also send an e-mail with the offer? I just don't want to be checking my mailbox or e-mail every hour or day for the next month. I've been dancing that tango for far too long, now.
Also, seeing as how El Paso starts in July, what if you are waitlisted at another school that doesn't start until August, and they end up offering you a seat after classes have already started in El Paso? Since I've read posts about people being taken off of a waitlist just days before classes start, I'm still holding out a small glimmer of hope for another school. Anyone have any ideas?

I think that getting a position in a school that late in the game is for people who have no previous acceptances. If I remember correctly, the last day that a Texas school can offer a position to a student who already has an acceptance from another Texas school is June 15th.
Beets, that makes sense! I guess it's just another 4-month wait for me. Either way, I'll be happy with the outcome. I'm looking forward to (maybe) meeting you all in July 🙂

Hey, Can you tell me where can you check the status? I will be grateful to you.
If you mean where you matched to, you need to log into your TMDSAS account and look under School Rank (where you entered in your school ranking list). As for the alternative list, I don't think they send it out/share it. From my understanding, they'll call you (and email?) to offer a position in this year's class.

TTU-LBK told me they won't be releasing an alternate list until March...
Yes, I got an email from John Snelling this afternoon. I believe they started releasing it yesterday (that's what he told me on Tuesday, but not sure because of the weather situation in EP) and will be sending out more throughout the next few weeks or so.

No kidding.. I hope that gets resolved for the best. That was messed up on A&M's part and they're not even truly apologizing for it.
