Anytime! I figured I've been on this forum long enough that I was due for a phone call. Best of luck OOSers. Hopefully that thing starts moving like a freight train as May 15th gets closer.
To clarify: I am a dude. I do not remotely resemble Brad Pitt; that would be unreasonable. I'm more Jake Gyllenhaal. Hahahahaha! No but seriously, I'm pretty meh.

Actually looking forward to a Monday...let's see how this goes! I feel like this process is being drawn out until the last possible moment. Wondering what I'm supposed to learn from this?:luck:

That puts me at #3! Worst countdown ever. It's like watching the ball drop on New Year's Eve and having Jet Li tornado kick it two feet from the bottom.

Of course! Not going to leave without hearing you all get accepted! And I have a place to live, but my roommate unexpectedly decided to go to school in Illinois so I'm currently roommate-less. A friend of mine is hoping to get a job in IC though so we'll see. There's still time to get it all situated.

Happy (almost) May 15th! Keep that list moving!

Yes, all the lectures will go on ICON.

Sounds like the movement was pretty good today on the IS side. I wonder if they will send out another update this week? I think I'm pretty close to breaking into the top 10 waitlist spots.

Was number 5 on the OOS waitlist from the last email update, and was accepted this afternoon! Definitely will be attending!

As far as i know there is nothing to do to be considered. It was a merit dean scholarship so i think they just give it
 
Thank you all so much for your support! This forum has seriously been a lifesaver for me when the waiting got rough, so I'll be sticking around too until every last one of you is in. Best of luck to those of you yet to be accepted! I'm curious to see how deep they'll reach into these lists.
 
I withdrew my OOS acceptance on friday, hopefully that opens up a spot for someone at Carver 🙂 good luck!
 
I was 46 on the OOS last update and wasn't holding out much hope, but now I am kind of excited. The list is definitely moving! Still a long shot, but it could happen. Congrats to all those who got in already!

I'm having fun with ICON and ISIS. Had to make calls to get my passwords to work! grrrrrr grrrrrrrrrrr
 
I'm digging around Isis but I don't see any juicy financial aid info... Anyone know how/when we get our estimates? I was only accepted yesterday but I'll need numbers to make some important decisions 🙂

#2 OOS. I found the instructions I was looking for... Anyone have a general idea as to the timeframe to get my award estimate?
 
I've had my financial aid forms for a few weeks, but they were holding them as pending until I was accepted. I got an email today that said it would take a couple of days for the financial aid office before giving me an estimate.

On the website, go here for all the financial aid stuff http://www.medicine.uiowa.edu/osac/financial/

On ISIS you click on the "Student Records" link at the top of the page, and under the "Financial Aid" heading on the lower left you'll find "Application Status" to see if your FASFA has been received by the university and "Verification Form" you will need to print out and turn in at Calvin Hall. Make sure your verification form has a tax return statement from both you and your parents, or else the office won't take it.
 
So I got an update saying I was #24 OOS. Is it horrible that I'm hanging around just to see if I got in? hahahah
 
Sitting here thinking about how much this financial aid package is going to hurt...$40k in unsubsidized loans may be a bigger nightmare for me than waking up on the set of a Richard Simmons workout video.

Any word on further WL movement so far?
 
I've been following this forum for awhile but just made a login today. I was #21 IS originally, #3 after the update last Thursday, and was accepted this afternoon. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Thanks for the post. I guess this puts me at around 9, and I'm starting to get pretty excited. The only thing is this puts me in a tough spot for a job that I will be starting pretty soon. Are people allowed to defer acceptance off the waitlist?
 
Dear future classmates (I've chosen Iowa, woooooo!),
I am planning on going on a month long vacation to the far east in July before matriculation. As I'm single and have no guy friends with money and time to burn, I'd love to invite one or two of you to join me in this venture (I figure the admissions office has already done a great job of making sure you're awesome). If you might be interested please PM me and we'll see how things go!

As for deferral, I think I saw something about it in the packet I got after acceptance, but I'm not sure. I'll take a look at it tomorrow morning and get back to you.

UPDATE: So I just took a look at my papers and you do still have the ability to defer. However, your chances of actually being granted a deferral are limited, since it's a first-come first-serve game.

Hi! Anyone recently admitted off the waitlist not able to access ICON, but able to access ISIS? It tells me I have an invalid ID and IT is stumped. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

This happened to me as well. Apparently it takes some extra time for admissions to get you enrolled in ICON. It took about 4 days longer than ISIS for me. But if you're worried, email admissions. I'm bet they can tell you for sure.

Also, congrats to all of you recently accepted! If anyone is still looking for housing, it looks like I'm going to be in need of a roommate so if you might be interested, message me for info!

I just applied to live in the Phi Rho Sigma medical fraternity, so if anyone feels like giving up on finding a place and socks' open room is taken it would always be nice to live in a building with more M1s!

UPDATE: Also, if you've been admitted, 1) CONGRATULATIONS! 2) Don't forget to join the "University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine Class of 2015" Facebook group so I can begin the long transitory process of envisioning you as actual human beings.
