I interviewed on October 3rd and they still have not seem to have gotten to my file...has anyone else who interviewed around then not gotten a decision/response? It seems like a lot of people who interviewed after me have heard...

Interview invite today!!! I am considered oos, but I am living in Louisville currently. The first date available was January 27, so hopefully I will get a spot then.

I'm so excited!

Same here... I sent an email requesting only the 13th of Jan as soon as I got the email and didn't provide a 2nd option... hopefully I got that date because the only other choices available now are in February.

Hi I am just curious.... Does UofL require a specific type of laptop please...thanks🙂

News tomorrow? Possibly? Maybe?

Who else will be bummed if news doesn't hit their inbox by 5 (Eastern)?

Got an email.. sounds like they didn't get to my file -> no decision, not on hold, not wl'ed.

Good luck to the rest of you today, though!

Accepted!!! So excited! This is my first MD acceptance and top choice.

I was told last month that they didn't get to my file so I'm really excited to hear! Also, I had the infamous interviewer, so don't despair everyone!

Pourquoipas, it is looking very much like I will be. I attend UofL right now and I absolutely love the city and the university. The only way I wouldn't be is if I get in at one of the schools I'm still waiting to hear back from.

Congrats to the four of you!

littlestar, my heart breaks a little b/c I see they broke into our 12/1 group, but my app wasn't grand enough to reach the top 🙁

Looks like I'll be compulsively reading old UofL threads for the next month. lol

no worries! they will get there. i think u of l moved freakishly quick on my app from start to finish, not just for this portion of it. it's been a flat 2 months since i submitted my AMCAS to acceptance; an unexpected whirlwind. i must have a really really quick reviewer or something!

at least your residency status is not being contested. they haven't decided whether to offer me the spot as in state or out yet... 😳

I am beyond happy right now! I interviewed back in early October, and after getting the "no decision yet" e-mail every other week, I was in shock seeing my acceptance yesterday. My heart almost stopped! This gives hope to the others that are still waiting on a decision :xf:Hang in there!

For those of you with your Bb account set up, does it show the roster size this year? If so, what's it at? Thanks!

If anyone is considering the Trover program and has questions, feel free to PM me.

It's almost Christmas! Did anyone get an email that explains the scholarship award letters are delayed until Jan.?

I got that email too. I had forgotten that they told us we'd be getting those notices in December, but now I've got something to look forward to in January. 😀

I got an email about that also. Is it too speculative to think this, or do you think those were only sent out to people who will be receiving a scholarship?

probably a little too speculative, although i was kinda curious... do you guys know how many scholarships they give out/the average profile?

we can only hope. I seem to remember Ms. Osborne saying that if you met the average entrance scores (29 MCAT/~3.6 GPA) or better then you were probably in the pool.

Yea. I got that e-mail too. Maybe they sent it out to all the people that have been accepted thus far. ? Not sure tho.

Question:

For those lucky few that have received acceptances to both UK and UofL and decided/leaning toward UofL would you share some of your thoughts? ..even the smallest reasons

congrats to all those with acceptances!!!

I was wondering this, too! I went to UK for my undergrad and always thought I'd go to UKCOM, but I really liked Louisville, too. I got accepted to Louisville in November and UK a few weeks ago. I am trying to figure out which one I want to go to and I keep going back and forth!

I work in healthcare here in Louisville and talked to several different doctors, including some that went to UK and they said years 3 and 4 are a lot better at U of L. They said that helps a lot. Having U of L, Jewish, Norton, Kosair, and the VA all really close together was a huge benefit. One of the UK doctors I spoke with convinced his daughter to go to U of L over UK. I am leaning more toward a surgical type specialty at the moment and U of L has better residency programs in some of those areas as well. Both are good schools and you can't go wrong with either one. Those are some of the reasons I'm leaning toward U of L. Good luck choosing the one that's right for you.

Another committee meeting today, keep me update if anyone has news! I'm keeping my fingers crossed 🙂

Has anyone else been put on "hold"? Like, what does that even mean? Is it just a group of people that are considered before the wait list? I interviewed back in October and this is my first email saying that my application had been considered.

Your application has been considered and the Admissions Committee has decided to place you in Hold status at this time. You will receive a final admissions decision no later than March 31, 2011. Be advised that Hold status is not the wait list. While Hold status may extend until the wait list is finalized, an applicant in Hold status can also potentially be notified of a final admission decision prior to selections being made for the wait list.

From my understanding, when we had this stuff explained at the interview, yes, it's just a spot before the wait list. People under "hold" will be reviewed again if they get through all the other applications and there's time before "official decisions".

I think.

I also got "hold" status today.

Really tired of waiting. Anyone have any experience with this?

All that hold means is that the admissions committee has not gotten to your file yet. You are still waiting in line. They are a little behind schedule and there is not much you can about it. I know that this is a difficult thing to accept, but keep in mind that you have done everything you can up to this point and now it is out of your hands. They will most likely they will get to you by the next meeting on the 25th.

They send out a different email for that.

I have a friend that is a 3rd year at Toledo and has loved the experience thus far. He told me that the school really prepares him for getting the residency he wants.

No Idea who on here is attending UofL for sure...

But we can access our Louisville email accounts, and they announced dates for preorientation(Saturday Feb 19th) and white coat ceremony(august 7th i believe)...

So hopefully some of you will be there and are getting excited for our class! Join the facebook group if you havent yet.

A little disappointed that they cancelled the meeting yesterday. No updates today...

Did everybody get a apply for the dual program email that expressed interest? I don't understand how they can email to us if we haven't been accepted.

Which dual program? The last email that I got was about pre-orientation day. I did show an interest in the Trover program, but at the interview it was explained that it is mainly for people that are from rural Kentucky areas, and that I can have a rural elective in the future.

Is UofL still sending out interviews?
