You mind posting your stats? just wondering if they only offer pre-matches to perfect numbers. and congrats!

OOS isn't the same as pre-match, since they're in that pool of 10%ers.

But they don't just give pre-matches to perfect numbers. I pre-matched and had far from perfect numbers.
 
but again, because we don't prematch much means there are a lot of seats open for the match. just rank your schools in the order in which you'd prefer to attend. it will all work out.

Thanks, Haha, my numbers definitely are not perfect, especially my MCAT....

Overall GPA: 3.96
Science GPA: 4.00
Verbal: 8
Phys/GenChem: 10
Bio/OChem: 12
Overall MCAT: 30P

White male
Bilingual - spanish/english
Shadowed 9 physicians - from OBGYN to Facial/Maxillary Surgeon
Lots of volunteer/leadership stuff
Research, nothing published or even close
Absolutely zero ties to Texas, just a desire to live there really (pro-gun/anti-big government type of attitude) 👍


I thought that I nailed my first interview, and my second one I thought ruined my chances since we only had 15 mins. KNOCK on the interviewer's door when your interview time rolls around! I thought she was in with another interviewee, but happened to be just on the phone.

Good luck! I absolutely loved seeing this school. TMC is unbelievable.

Hum hum... has anyone who was transmitted in mid September had any luck with interview invites from UTHSC Houston? I am severely regretting my late submission. Ugh!

I transmitted early August and JUST got an interview invite this morning for 11/5. I think UT-Houston had a lot of computer/technical problems in the beginning of the cycle, and they started interviewing late. (Correct me if I'm wrong!)

I havent heard back from them although I submitted in early Aug. I just want to interview before 11/15

I don't think UT Houston participates heavily in pre-match like some schools (i.e. Southwestern) seem to if that's what you're getting at. Good luck!:luck:
 
Hey I'm OOS and haven't heard anything back yet, to anyone who can answer this is it getting kind of late for OOSers or do you think there's still a chance? I'd appreciate any info 🙂
 
Just got my first interview here for 11/12! I'm really excited. I was transmitted 9/16.

I was transmitted 9/16 and I got my interview invite today.
 
INTERVIEW INVITE TODAY!!! YEE HAWWWWWWW!!!! I'm soooooooo excited and can't wait! Transmitted 9/28, interview 11/12 😛
 
Anyone know the actual chance of being accepted here? Interviewed here and found the school to be a great place. On the numbers: 230 seats, about 1000 applicants interviewed (correct ?) So of the 1000 interviewed, how many are accepted. I guess with the match, it makes it hard to figure out the numbers.
 
I was invited on 10/21 for interview on 11/12!! My first invite to my first choice! Transmitted on 9/17. Other than the admissions staff, who interviews us?

Congrats!
Physicians and professors associated with our school do interviews, for the most part. Hermann residents (usually UT-H grads) do interviews on some occasions. You'll have two ~30 min. interviews.

Interview invite after waking up from a nap. Was transmitted mid-august. This is the first correspondence I've received from UTH.

my tmdsas was transmitted to the school 8/07, but i never got an email that they had received my app after that! this really came out of nowhere!

Thanks for sharing invitation/transmission dates all. It seems some of you were transmitted earlier than others, yet have received invites at later date. That leaves me scratching my head... haha, is there a method to this madness :scared:?

LibbyJ, I know it's tempting to try and gauge your expectations by comparison of other people's stats, but I've come to the conclusion that the few replies you receive here can hardly be indicative of the masses that each school invite. The only thing that ever did for me was arouse stress. I apologize if I'm making incorrect assumptions...

I hope you hear back soon!

i am a reapplicant, retook my MCAT in june and got a 30Q, 3.75 overall GPA, 3.55 science GPA!

i wish you the best of luck!!

Lots of other interviews but all is silent on the Houston front..

Don't get down about not getting an invite yet guys. I was transmitted 8/02. I had interviewed at every other Texas school by Oct 8, but I didn't get an invite to UTH until last week for 11/05. 34Q/4.0.

Just got invited this morning. I was transmitted 9/1. For anyone who has been, when were the interviews? Morning, afternoon, or both? Im trying to plan travel.

About half interviewed in the morning after a welcoming, and the other half interviewed after the initial talk and a very extensive tour. During the afternoon interviews, the first group took the tour. There was lunch in between. You wont finish until around 3-3:30.

our stats are very similar (4.0/31) and i transmitted on 9/1. so hopefully ill hear back from them, and soon i hope! 🙂

Interviewed here a few weeks ago, but UT Houston is not showing up on the list of schools that I can rank.

Is anyone else having this problems?

I interviewed here 10/15 and it hasn't showed up on mine yet but every other school is on the rank list already :/

I messaged TMDSAS and they said to contact the school directly because it is the school's responsibility to update as to when they interviewed you.

I called UTH Admission office and they said they were having some issues with their system that updates the TMDSAS interview records and should have us on there in a week or two

Update: UTH just showed up on my rank list today (interviewed 10/15)
 
does anyone know if taking the all the science prerequisites at a community college for this school would be a factor in admissions? I know some schools dont recommend taking the prerequisites at a community college, so i was just wondering if UT HSC was one of those schools...?
 
Are you talking about doing all of your regular classes at your University and then choosing to do the sciences at a CC? If so, that will likely be frowned upon.

i would call the admissions office...each school has different policies
