has anyone sent in an update/interest letter in yet? Have you got any response from the adcom?

I interviewed in September and everyone had on a suit on Friday as well as on Saturday.


As to Cole's question, I was offered $10,000 per year.

I sent an update letter in (I was told that "interest" letters are found annoying by a couple People Who Know) and get a generic "thanks, it's been printed and added to your file" response.

So instead, I'd recommend blackmail and bribery myself.
 
Another 15K/year scholarship here, with the same possibilities for financial aid, etc. I was extremely impressed by it and was certainly not expecting it. Cheers to all the other applicants that also recieved scholarships, and even if you did not, UTSW seems like one hell of a school.

lol, who did you send it to? Just the admissions office, or Dr. Wagner?
 
Hey guys just got interviewed 12/04, one of my best interviews yet. Can anyone guess or know when earliest possible batch of offers come in for this group interviewing so late? Hopefully before the end of Dec.

Interviewed this past weekend and LOVED the school. The interview day does basically summarize everything presented on Friday during the afternoon program. However, some meaningful/insightful was given which I believe SDN will appreciate. From what I can remember:

- one more set of pre-match offers will be sent out before match day (last interview date considered for pre-match is 12/04/10).
- no pre-match offers will be made in January (since this is the time that people with several pre-match offers can decide which one school they will be holding their acceptance to).
- UTSW is shifting away from match day and typically gives out 2/3 of their offers before the match process. Remaining 1/3 is on Match day (also, keep in mind that they give out acceptances after match day as well since people do reject their acceptance offers, ie. typically OOSers).***

Did anyone get an Acceptance letter from the group that has interviewed on 12/04 yet? I remember them saying that 12/04 interview group would be the last to receive any more letters before the match-date, if any. I could be wrong, but that is what I heard.

Yeah I heard the same thing and I was in 12/04 interview group. Hopefully this isn't the last set of offers, they said we could get pre-match up to 12/31.
 
I got a 15k/year offer as well. Looks like a lot of us will be classmates pretty soon! Best of luck to you guys still waiting :xf: Don't give up!!
 
Got accepted today!! Interviewed 11/13 as well! This is definitely the best start to Christmas Break!

From what I was told, yes, but offers will be given until 12/31. They had a meeting on 12/9 to discuss candidates and said they would begin making offers again 12/13. They said they wont give any offers at all in January because they are restricted, but would send out a huge batch in February and would continue until July 15. So there is plenty of time. People who were interviewed on 12/10 and in January still have a chance to match in February so don't worry.

Well that depends on if you applied as a resident or out-of-state. For out-of-state the earliest you can find out is on or after match date. Same goes for MD/pHD? For residents it can be up anywhere from now until match date. I am not sure how UTSW does it, but I think they compile their own Z-score and then create a ranking for each applicant into a huge list. They then go over each applicant as a committee to see if that individual should receive an acceptance invitation. Not really sure why they spread out acceptances. From past year records, I know they usually send out a lot on November 15 and then spread out the number of acceptance for a few days and then sent another large batch on December 15.

Don't want to freak anyone out but I just talked to Anne McLane over the phone and she told me today would be the last day that offers are given until February 1st and that they haven't been given out yet (couldn't tell me time). Good luck guys!

Checked and Confirmed. Today is the last day for pre-match and they have not been sent out yet. My guess is somewhere between 3pm-5pm. Good luck everyone and keep your fingers crossed!

DO you guys think that they decided to not extend offers today or just no one on sdn got any?

I really can't see how no one on SDN got one, but that being said nothing in this process makes sense.

I have been constantly checking my email ever since I read that they are sending some today..almost as much as I checked on nov 15. I am still hoping that they might send them later tonight..considering I got my interview invite from utsw at 8:30pm..
 
I'm waiting as well.

Has anyone from the 12/04 gotten an acceptance? I haven't seen any on this thread.

I'm in!!! Email was sent 7:22 pm and I interviewed 12/04. Keep in mind that a third of offers are still on the table for February. Good luck guys and stay positive! 🙂
 
congrats!!!! aaa i hope there is someway they will send out more tomorrow so we all can get an offer before christmas.

Would any of you who got the $15k/year scholarship mind sharing your stats? I just wanted to get an idea of what they look for in awarding those scholarships.

I thought I was all finished and had already decided which school I was going to and this process pulled me right back in. 🙂 Honestly kinda surprised because I've been complete forever.

Think there are actually any spots left or just waitlist interviews?
