I submitted my secondary app last week and I keep getting emails(3 so far) about my status being changed in the last 24 hours, but when I log in, all it says is 'complete' under file status.

Is this normal? Does that just mean that someone is accessing/looking at my file but not changing the status? Or is there another place to check status?

I've been getting these emails too with no change in my status. Someone on the previous page suggested that it may mean that we were given a priority score (which we aren't told).

Same thing happened to me (3x complete status). I e-mailed the office and was told it's normal. A few days later I received the MAY status. Hope this helps.
 
is the "reservation" priority score a death sentence?

I'm interviewing here on November the 1st and EVMS on the third. I'll be flying in to Richmond, and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to from Richmond to Norfolk? And also which city would be best to spend my extra day (Nov 2)? Thanks a bunch!
 
does anyone know if interviews from the last 2 weeks will be considered for the oct 15 acceptances?

I interviewed here about a month ago and really enjoyed it. Admittedly, I go here for undergrad but... the students seemed really happy and the facilities are awesome. Lots of construction around the medical center and a new critical care tower (it's amazing inside) just opened in the past year or so. Definitely have high hopes. App status site says that I've been discussed by the committee and have to wait til this Saturday to hear back. Very excited!

They told us that we (ppl interviewing this week) wouldnt be considered for this cycle.
Not sure how far back that rule applies
 
hey does anyone know if vcu will send the acceptance updates on October 16 this cycle eventhough it falls on a saturday (admissions office is closed on weekends), or will they send them out on monday?

I thought about that as well, but it seems like they've been offering interview invites and other status updates on Sat/Sun this cycle, so it seems they would still offer the acceptances on Oct 16.

I interviewed last week but I haven't had a status change about them having reviewed my file, so I'm guess that I won't hear back this round. BOO!

i interviewed a couple weeks ago and only got the status change to do a survey. guess i won't hear back either 🙁
 
Guys, I think for all those who have interviewed before early October, your status will change Tomorrow and again on Saturday for the acceptances. This is according to last year's thread.

Called VCU, they said acceptances probably won't be until Monday this year. Hopefully they will on Saturday.. just don't get your hopes up :/

Blast! More waiting. :scared:. Did you happen to ask what the latest interview date considered for this batch was? I interviewed on the 4th, so I may or may not have been reviewed in time. My status only updated to fill out the survey, so I'm not optimistic...
 
I feel like I remember them saying during my interview day that committee meets on Fridays and everyone interviewed before the 16th would hear back shortly after that date. I think an interview on the 4th should definitely put you in the clear to hear back this round.
 
Alas, no midnight status change. Now I will stress out for the next couple of days til I hear back.

I think it's always 6pm status changes, not midnight. But yes, expect to wait until Monday.

keep in mind that they dont send out rejections/waitlists until the last notification date. So you might just not hear anything

I thought you were rejected immediately if your score was above some threshold cutoff. Did anyone get a status update to hold yesterday?
 
I've had the "you've been discussed by the committee, hold out til our notification dates" status for several weeks. And I think that they've done some post-interview rejections already - they just have to wait to do acceptances. Not sure when exactly they start making the waitlist.
 
after they meet and vote on your application it is given a numerical score. On the earlier notification dates they notify a certain number of people by ranking them and taking the top people.
This means that you can still be rejected at the end of the cycle if your numbers were above the cutoff but enough people had numbers higher than yours.
If you are not in the top however many people who they are accepting you wont hear anything until the next date.

Eek! I'm dying to know!!

I'm guessing that it will show up after 6 PM since that is when the system updates or something? But who knows, maybe we'll find out earlier!

So I have heard nothing...wtf VCU why do you torture us like this?? And SDN sucks for not updating more rapidly, so I would know if anyone else has heard....
 
I have not heard as of 6:40 est... Hang in there, you're not alone. Try to savor the last moments of ignorance as they slip by - alea jecta est.
 
This sucks. I hate waiting. Maybe there's a problem and we won't hear until tomorrow. I wish they updated when their office was open so we could call and ask.
 
I'm not convinced that we'll hear tonight. I'm holding out hope until 7:10 (EST) then I'm going to try to move on with my evening.
 
Should one of us call and see if they are in? I dunno, I'm just freaking.
 
Maybe they decided not to accept anyone this year. You know, just to see how that would work out.
 
Just got an email.. heart skipped a beat.. not from VCU.
