I got an "application complete" email a couple of days after I submitted. If you have all green lights then you are probably fine. You could always send an email or call.

Is there any way to find out the status of your application (being reviewed, reviewed, interview pending, etc) like other schools? If not, would it be wise to call them about it?
I am, flying into Manchester around 1pm and then driving to Hanover.

I'm flying into Manchester at about 3:45 pm. You'll be my fellow Floridian at the interview.
I am just glad we get to interview there in September before the weather drops below freezing because I do not have adequate clothes for that coming from Florida.
I will if you can tell them to invite me for an interview on that date. Still quiet here =(

I thought this was amusing enough to post here. So I work at DMS (in the hospital) and applied there for med school this year. I just got an e-mail entitled "Dartmouth Medical School Invite."
It had nothing to do with admissions, it was an invitation to a tailgating party before an upcoming football game.

Metallica, I would just call them and ask. I think the two semesters is the requirement and doesn't include pre-calc, but I would get an answer from admissions rather than rely on our opinion on SDN. It's not worth spending the $130 if they will throw it out, but the folks are very nice at the admissions office and its worth just asking them.
After going through that, I think they owe you an invite now!
Also, not sure where the confusion regarding calculus is coming from. Their admissions webpage says one half year, and MSAR says 3 credits. I haven't seen any sources that suggested anything other than calc I is required.
I am a non-trad. I graduated in 2006 with a degree in anthropology and and underwhelming gpa of 3.5. I managed to not take any science classes in undergrad. After getting out in the workforce and learning about what I actually was interested in doing, I decided to apply to med school.
I started classes last summer and managed to take all the prereqs except ochem II and calculus by the spring. I managed a 3.89 sgpa through all that. I also took the MCAT in may. So I submitted my app in July while still taking ochem II and calc I.
I only managed a B+ in ochem (but an A in calculus), which is lower than my current science gpa... so I'm debating whether to send an updated transcript showing I have now taken all prereqs, but with a B+ vs. not updating and keeping my post grad all A/A-.
What do you guys think?

I sent Dartmouth an "in the area" email about 10 days ago and got an invite today! I am from the Boston area (live in Virginia now) and had an interview at BU so shot them an email. They honored the dates I sent them, though now have back to back interviews..
Just thought other people might have similar situations; it's worth a shot.

Does NYC count as in-the-area? (Considering I'm from MN)
When you write an in the area email, do you let them know you're in the area because you are interviewing at a school in the nearby, or do you leave the reason why you are in the area out of the email?

Hard to say if NYC "counts"? I'm not the admissions office, but I mean if you say that you are traveling/would like to save on airfare? It can't hurt to try. Worst they do is not offer you an interview.
I left out the name of the school because I thought it was too hard to craft an email that doesn't look like bragging, but that is up to you. I just said I was coming up to "Boston-area schools" for other other medical school interviews.

Dartmouth was beautiful, DHMC was beautiful, and the location was beautiful. One of my interviews seemed to go really well, the other was weird and a bit confusing. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

I agree with everything Cinclus said about Dartmouth. The campus is great, the people were great, and the hospital was great. Both of my interviews seemed to go well, but you never really know what they want, now it is a waiting game just like the rest of this process.

Ha, I just looked on Dartmouth's actual website and yes you're completely correct! I was going off of the MSAR that DOES say they require 3 semesters of calc. Thanks!

Alright guys so I got an interview today and I am going to schedule it for the same week where I will be attending a school in New York.
I have a couple of questions:
1- Is the Datmouth coach the best option to go to hanover and back to new york?
2- I just checked the Dartmouth coach website and it says that to use the Yale club station in new york, you have to be a member of the club. What exactly do the main by this? I thought that buying the tickets was good enough to get in the bus.

The Dartmouth Coach is a good way to do it. Not sure, but you can also check out Vermont Transit to see if they have schedules to NY. I think the note about the Yale Club just means that you can't use the club if you're not a member (i.e., you cant just walk in and hang out while waiting for the bus). I'm guessing that the bus just leaves from the curb, so no big deal... you can call if you're concerned about it.

Just as a heads up, I don't think DMS is really MCAT crazy like some other schools. Obviously a good MCAT helps, but a lowish won't kill your chances either. It seems like they emphasize your application as a whole. I know all schools say that, but really. I think the avg for matriculants stays right around 33-35 each year. And I mean avg, meaning there were probably a few 40+s here and there, just like there were some 30-s. So don't freak out if you don't have a 35+, there's not much you can do at this point anyway.

You must be a superstar in some other way, since your GPA and MCAT are average~ish.
Do share your secret of success. 😀 Did you have an amazing story of how you organized a basketball championship in the inner city and made peace between the bloods and crips? Did you burn midnight oil in the UN to make peace between the Arabs and Jews?

I am not crazy, I am just a little bit tired after a day of looking through patients' charts and trying to find whether or not they had high cholesterol. It's interesting the first time, bearable the fifth time, but just plain annoying after four hours.
