anybody get an interview invite recently? When did you schedule for? Im just trying to get an idea of how far they are booked. Can anybody comment?

Got an II just a few minutes ago! Booked it for 2/27 (spots were available on 2/22, but that day didn't work for me). It's rather late, but I'm just happy to get an interview, considering only ~4% of out-of-staters are interviewed.

From yesterday to today, I was put on hold 🙁

How do I write a LOI? Do I email it/mail it? I've never done one... Advice much appreciated.

I'm a Chicagolander and definitely want to stay nearby so I'm very bummed about the hold.

Got a call from the dean today - accepted. They said no deposit is required? That we just have a place in the class? didn't get an acceptance email, I'm wondering what the deal there is. Does anyone else know??

Best of luck to everyone on hold! Let's hope a place opens up for you 🙂

When I scheduled, the earliest was March 1st.

You will get a letter in the mail with a card that you need to return. The card has two boxes, one if you wish to accept a position and one if you wish to decline a position. No deposit is due. Congrats

Emailed a letter of interest in yesterday. Hopefully it gets me off hold 🙂

how did you email it to the dean? I sent it to the office of admissions, should I not have?

Really enjoyed my interview day (totally blown away by the study space and cohesive atmosphere of the medical campus, plus the students were very nice and seemed happy), Dean Koller told us the committee was meeting today Jan 23rd, so here I am on tenterhooks.

I would love to go to this school.

Just received the best phone call of my life!! Thank you thank you. Thank you SDN. Thank you Loyola.

It only takes one. To everyone waiting, good luck.

Class of 2016!!!!!! 😀

Congrats! See you at orientation if you decide on Loyola!

Has any1 or knows any1 who was placed on hold and then given an II once re-reviewed? Is there a chance for us who are placed on hold to be re-reviewed or is that just a nice way of saying you will be receiving a rejection letter later on?

🙁

I sent mine to the office of admissions, but addressed it to the dean.

Sorry, I've been looking for the Office of Admissions email address on the website, do they have one? you said you emailed your LOI in, to whom? Thanks

The one person I know who did it got an interview like a week after submission and was accepted then on 10/15 so maybe??

It can't hurt, right? haha

I just checked my status page and saw this message, "Your file has been reviewed by the Committee on Admissions." But there is nothing else. It just basically says that I will get a phone call/email if they decide to give me an interview. Does anybody know what this means? Is this a good or bad thing? Thanks

I just received this status as well and am wondering the same thing. Is this equivalent to being put on hold/re-review?

Quick question, what does the hold status look like? I have had this as my status for at least 4 months now.

"Your file is complete and pending further review by our Committee on Admissions. If you are granted an interview you will be contacted by phone and/or email. Our interview season is September thru April and your file can be reviewed several times during this time."

Mine says that my file "has been reviewed" and I'm pretty sure that's their hold status. I can't remember what it said before then, but basically it means "wait and see if you get an interview" lol.

I had that status from October till late December. Then it changed to "under review" and hasn't changed since. Maybe in Feb. the adcoms will begin reviewing your app again. keep the hope!!👍

Hey all - just got an interview invite today via email (around 3 pm) after not hearing anything since September from Loyola.

I'm going to be turning it down, so I hope one of ya'll hear some good news soon!

How generous is Loyola with scholarships and financial aid?

http://www.stritch.luc.edu/finaid/node/113

The college cites the typical government scholarship/repayment programs.
There is a Dean's scholarship for Minority students who exemplify the Jesuit tradition. There is no value amount associated with this so I'm guessing if you've got good stats and you're an URM you will get a good deal....

Also, there is an Ignatian scholarship for students : "Prospective candidates will have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale) and leadership in service to others."
This scholarship is valued UP TO $10,000.

I heard that the Loyola financial aid application is really arduous though. Looks like there is a good chance of getting some institutional scholarships if you're an URM or have good leadership. (this is the impression I got from the interview day and the website).

Hey all, I'm interviewing on 2/27. Does anybody know if this will be for an acceptance, or a position on the wait list?

I am interviewing this Friday and am flying back immediately afterward. Does anyone know what time Friday interviews usually end and what's the fastest way to get to Chicago Midway airport from the school?

Hey, you should use RTA trip planner, which is online. It will give you the fastest way.

OOOrrrrr you can stay Friday night and go downtown with us 😀.

I just withdrew from my interview in March, so there should be another spot for someone else. 🙂

Has anyone who was put on hold a while back seen a status update? I still have the same hold status.

I interviewed last Friday and I loved this school. They said we would hear back around the 28th and I can't wait!

I'm still holding out hope for an interview here even though I'm on hold. It's my hometown school (or hometown-adjacent school, anyways)! 😀
