there was a batch of rejection letters sent out to students who had not received an interview that was received yesterday. An interviewee I know who went yesterday said Dr. Eubanks informed them letters for those recently interviewed were sent out yesterday so cross your fingers you should get them Friday/Saturday

I interviewed March 27th and I live in Texas. I wonder how long it will take for the mail to get here. I assume it was not sent first class...😴 not so patiently waiting, I guess. I don't know which is worse, waiting on MCAT scores or waiting for acceptance decisions..

Interviewed March 30. Received NFA letter today. I live in New Orleans, so the mail came pretty quick.

Waiting for the acceptance is far worse. At least you know the exact day on which your score is available.

That said, my letter was sent first class, and I don't think it was because I was super special

I have an interview this Tuesday on April 10! Anyone else scheduled an interview this day? :xf:

Of those in the NFA club, how many does you guys think will end up being accepted. If 200 slots have been awarded already I can't see it being a large amount. I just don't see why there are so many NFAs out there if they know that individual will be rejected in a month.

There are huge chain reactions of wait lists once people start having to going down to their one acceptance. Tons of people across the land are holding 10-20+ acceptances in their grubby little paws. Once those are released, the schools will know what's up, and the NFAs will come pouring through the wide gates of Perdido St.

oh how I'd love to move my permanent residence from the neuroscience building on gravier to the MEB on perdido. haha

I'll bet that LSUNO is still holding spots that have already been given up, waiting til a certain adcom meeting to give them out. So the 200 acceptances have probably not all been retained.

If any of you accepted people are in New Orleans and don't have anything to do Friday night, I'd recommend going to the Camp Tiger auction. You get reduced price tickets and get to see of the many events. I went when I was an incoming and it was pretty fun even though I didn't know anybody.

Can tickets to the Camp Tiger Auction be bought at the door?

When is the date that students must decide between the schools that awarded them admission? Also when is the next committee meeting? Eubanks told us in our intial interview that the 3/10 meeting would produce a large amount of their decisions. I'm guessing that wasn't the case

Soooooo I was NFA'd in March. Just got off the phone with admissions and was told I won't hear anything till probably the 2nd or 3rd wk in May...😱

Guess I'll stop harassing the postman for a month. LOL

May 15th is the day which you need to decide between schools and let the ones you aren't picking know that you will not be attending.

Received a pretty heft scholarship today. Really glad to receive some IS lovin!😍

unless the school has its first day of class on or before july 30th, in which case the deadline is april 15th, april 16th this year since april 15th is a sunday.

edit: anybody remember when the first day of class is? the website just says August. so i guess you're good until next month.

I feel you! My postman wasn't nice before, and he certainly doesn't like me after I meet him in the courtyard everyday to get the mail before he gets to my apt.

How terrifying! What are the odds that they'd NFA someone for all this time just to reject them?

So does anyone know how wait listing works? I'm assuming they're going to make a wait list after the May 15th deadline but do they let you know where you are on the wait list if that happens?

Eubanks said we would never know the order of the waitlist in our interview.

So, the deadline is Tuesday, May 15th.

Do you all think the big meeting would be that Friday, May 18th?

August 8th is the first day of orientation. August 15th is the first day of classes.

Also, has anyone heard anything about whether or not they have determined who has been selected to participate in the Prematriculation Program?

Can someone explain exactly what this "double hold" deadline is. Is it you can't have more than 1 acceptance? What if you have an acceptance at school X whose deadline is May 15th, and are waitlisted at school Y? What if you receive an acceptance from school Y after May 15th? Aren't you double holding acceptances at that point?

Yes, but you can still choose. At that point in the cycle school Y has to notify school X that they're making an offer, you only have a few weeks to make your decision, and if/when you accept Y's offer you can't go back to X.

If the deadline for declaring which school the acceptees will take is May 15th, what will be discussed at a meeting on May 4th? Wouldn't the committee need to wait until spots have opened up to begin accepting more applicants?

My guess is that's when they actually make the waitlist, so that they can send out invites asap on the 15th.

Yea I agree. They usually have the waitlist determined before the 15th so that they can roll out acceptances as people relinquish their spots. They will most likely be sending out a big batch of rejections to those who don't make the waitlist as well. Last year I got my rejection right before the May 15th deadline, as obviously I didn't make the cut of the waitlist. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of you guys out there still waiting!!!:luck:

Your previous experience is my biggest fear at this point!!! Doesn't leave much time to scramble up a plan B. *fingers crossed*

How many spots are usually filled during this time? Just doesn't seem like there has been that large batch of acceptances yet. Then again that may just be my wishful thinking.

They were supposed to have offered all spots by March 30. As people give up their spots, they will accept more students. They told us on my interview day that they expect about 50 spaces to become available due to students choosing other schools.

Can we do a roll call to see how many SDNers have been NFA'ed by New Orleans?

I have been , and I know of 3 others irl.
