It's not hard to be a non-Steelers fan in Pittsburgh. You just have to be tolerant of them and accept the occasional petty jab at your team. And avoid walking by the Steelers store in The Strip where they play the Pittsburgh Superbowl Song on repeat all day long.

There were 2 "waves" in mid-February. There's really no way to predict it because they ended interviews earlier and started accepting people off waitlist earlier than last year. I think you've done all you can, it's just a waiting game now.

I sent a letter of intent because I know I definitely want to attend. I also contacted my interviewer to let her know about my interest and how much I loved the school.

Haha, Man I'm right there with ya. But my craziness implies I wanna do emergency medicine. However, it's looking more and more likely my life next year will consist of being a productive member of society.

Shaking right now...there was just a shooting a couple hours ago at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, directly across the street from the medical school (school is on lockdown right now).

For anyone with safety concerns, Oakland is an extremely safe neighborhood and this is the first time in my 4 years that anything like this has happened.

Heart goes out to the victims 🙁

Haha, u have like the opposite response than me, i just got another rejection post interview at one of my other top choices...so many post interview rejections. luckily i have one offer from a school. I feel bad to say this. but because of this process, i'm pretty sure i'm no longer going to do anything big that benefits humanity, i think i'm just going to go for private practice...Simply put, this process hurts a lot...and changes you

So this past 6 months my building had a bomb threat, an explosion on my floor resulted in a critically injured lab member, and now there's some guy shooting people down the street... Am I a student in Somalia or something?

But seriously, may the victim from today RIP.

First off huge congrats to those getting in from the WL!

I also was wondering how the med school and UPMC are doing since yesterday's disturbing and tragic events. I'm from PA but surprisingly haven't been hearing much about it on the news. Was this a clinic where UPSOM students are rotating, and what kind of concerns has this raised for the med school?

This is a little confusing. Are you guys referring specifically to the PSTP? I was told interviews for those will start after the spring break. Did the previous post interview already? and get accepted? or is that in reference to pitt med? Congrats by the way. and what's PSPT II?
