Ahhh, I should have specified that I was interviewed in March so this was my first post-interview review by the committee. Maybe that explains why we heard different things?

Ooohhh okay I get what you mean....So you were probably reviewed the last time the committee met on the 17th...Well good luck 🙂 Hopefully you hear from them soon.

Anyone here anything yet? Today is supposed to be the day right?

Just got updated. Made it onto the waitlist!

So now I have to start checking my e-mail constantly since another update can happen at any time.

+1. I've been place on the Out-of-Area waitlist of qualified/alternate candidates, :luck: GL everyone!

+1 OOA WL

Sounds like this is the initial wave of everyone getting wait listed (as they told us happens at the interview), so perhaps some of us still may be accepted by day's end.

That would be amazing.

Good luck to everyone who made it onto the waitlist today :luck: Hopefully a few acceptances will be handed out shortly, both to the newly added and to those of us who have been steeping for a long while.

:xf:

Not that I know of. But the way that UVM works is that everyone goes onto the waitlist and is then accepted off of it. So a waitlist now could mean movement before the 15th.

That's what I'm hoping for! I'm still waiting on a couple other schools post-interview. Anyone waiting to hear back today holding an acceptance at another school?

It appears, from previous posts, that UVM accepts a few students on the same day they are added to the waitlist. Given that no one off sdn has been accepted today and the long wait to hear back after the ad comm meeting last week, I think it is fair to say that this is an unpleasant aberration.

Any news from people who have been waiting on the WL for a while? Looks like only the recent interviewees heard back today. I've been WLed since Nov...this wait has been brutal!!

I'm holding at Tufts, still trying to decide if I would go there or UVM given the option.

I'm guessing that the committtee has been focused on sorting out the last people onto the waitlist. I assume that now they will go back over the entire list, including everyone who interviewed earlier in the cycle and hand out the last spots they have open. On the brightside, I was told on interview day that they usually keep at least 50 spaces open until around this point, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a wave of acceptances soon (hopefully).

So do some people get flat out rejected post-interview?

I've been on the waitlist since late February and I have the same message since then. This wait totally sucks....

I've declined all but one acceptance from another school so it's really between this school and UVM. Even if I get into UVM I'm not 100% sure that I'll go even though I really love the school....I guess it depends on the cost and whether or not I get any scholarships.

I've been on the WL since early March (interviewed in Feb), and my status hasn't changed, for better or worse:xf::xf:

I have been waitlisted since February and interviewed in January. Really hoping some decisions are made in the next month!

Tired of everyone asking me if I got in yet, and I have to say, "No, I'm still on the waitlist." And then they think they have to cheer you up, cause they don't understand med school waitlists, so they're like, "Its okay, there's always next year!" And then I reply, "There's still this year!!! Are you giving up on me so quickly!?" ... 🙁

I know you all would feel my pain. Wishing everyone the best of luck!

I totally feel your pain there. I get the same question all the time from my friends and coworkers... its getting old!! C'mon UVM! Looking at last year's thread we are due for some acceptances soon! :xf:

Absolutely agree. It's getting to the point that I don't want to go to work anymore just so I don't have to answer the question, "Have you heard anything?". Best of luck to you as well.

I can completely relate! I wasn't accepted to UVM until July 29th last year. I started to wish that I hadn't even told my friends and coworkers that I applied! There is still a lot of hope for this year 🙂

Thank you for sharing that bit of encouragement. Still praying for an acceptance from UVM.

+1 I am glad that I am not the only one feeling this way. I wish I had never told anyone that I was applying to med schools. But "what are your further plans, graduate schools?" was the most common question asked by my coworkers and I couldn't NOT mention that I was applying to med schools. Anyway, best of luck to everyone!!🙂

I have seen so many posts from you on this thread. I really want to thank you for taking time to share your experiences here because they have been really helpful! 🙂

I'm so with you on this🙂 ... had to explain the whole WL process to my boss a couple of hours ago as well as last week and the week before.... I can only hope that people are sincere in their asking you all these questions and not trying to bring you down time and time again🙄

Any Vermont kids here on the in-state waitlist? I've been on it since November. I swear this winter has been the longest of my life! Starting to lose hope a little bit 🙁

I was on the Vermont in-state waitlist last year (December interview). I did not get in my first application cycle. This year was very different. I had my interview in September then I was placed on the waitlist in October for ~1 hour then accepted. There was no phone call or e-mail. I only knew of my acceptance by the website.

They do pull people off the in-state waitlist, but I am not sure how many. I believe the in-state stats are something around 2/3s get an interview, 1/2 of those get accepted, 1/3 of those actually go.

Do not lose hope, but if you plan to apply again you better be doing things to improve your application. Good luck, and I hope to see you there next year.

So a pre-med, a non-trad, and a history major walk in productive yet uncomfortable circles while hanging out on the waitlist, and then the Dean of admissions sends an email that says: "You guys & gals are each fantastic, I don't know why we didn't do this sooner; you're all accepted! Don't worry, no punchline here."

And that's the story of how everyone stopped walking in productive yet uncomfortable circles, and started walking in excited, happily sleepless circles.

I'm optimistic that we will see some WL movement before May 15th...anyone else?

I have a lot of nervous energy so I did little data mining on SDN:

UVM W/L Movement starting in May as posted on SDN

2008-2009: 9 accepted; 7/9 accepted in May
2009-2010: 11 accepted; 9/11 accepted in May
2010-2011: 10 accepted; 9/10 accepted in May

G'luck everyone!

Those trends coupled with the fact that no one on SDN was accepted during the last couple weeks of April leads me to believe we should see some WL movement soon!:xf:

That's exactly what I was thinking. Guess we just have to wait and see....

I did nearly the same sort of past-thread-stalking last night. Good to know we're all on the same page.

My advisor just told me that UVM contacted my current school to ask about me. Did this happen to anyone else?

Did your advisor happen to say when the school made contact (i.e. today, yesterday, or further in the past) or what the context may have been? I'm a non-traditional applicant so I'm not expecting this to happen with me, but it's still very interesting. Good luck by the way, sounds like it could be a promising development!

That is definitely a first! I would feel kinda special though, knowing that they made an effort to call your advisory 🙂 If you get any other information, let us know. I'm curious how it went 🙂

Did and your friends get accepted or something?

I think it happened very recently (not today but within the last week)?

Good luck to everyone else, too! ::group hug::
