i received the same message. I really believe this is a glitch, seems strange so many people would get this message in the middle of the holiday season. At least i'll remain positive for now.

At a recent meeting of the Committee on Admissions your complete application was carefully reviewed. We are pleased to inform you that your name has been placed on the Out-of-Area waitlist of qualified/alternate candidates. We will complete our interview and review process by the end of April 2011. Because we utilize a rolling admissions process, you may be accepted from the waitlist at any time during the admissions season. In the event that you are offered an acceptance you will be notified via email.
Our waitlist season is open until the first day of orientation in August 2011.
I can understand people's confusion about the portal update.
It will be difficult to get answers before Tuesday as the university is closed until then for the holiday.
Did anyone with a "small pooled" message get a rejection status, or are they all from folks who had the "application complete, 6-8 weeks" message before it changed?
Yes, I think that's what it was. I was small pooled and still am. Fingers crossed for y'all.I think most had the "application complete, 6-8 weeks" message, while the small pooled people are safe.
same here!Okay, so I checked the portal this morning and I am back to "under preliminary review". Guess it was a glitch? Hope everyone else was un-rejected as well! ;-)
un-rejected as well.
also: how long has everyone been under preliminary review? it has been about 11 weeks for me.
About the same. I sent in everything by mid-October and was complete during early November.
un-rejected as well.

I think if I'm not mistaken, after their next Admissions Committee Meeting on January 10.Does anyone know when the next round of acceptances for the OOS candidate list will be?

Does anybody know the interview format of this school? I tried searching but couldn't find anything.

EM physicians are not over-represented among interviewers, as I understand it.
Hey guys! I received an interview invite today! How exciting 😀 does anyone know or can estimate the chances of an OOS getting accepted interviwing this time in the season? Thanks! Good luck to all!
So the people discussed at today's meeting can hear back as early as tomorrow/Thursday/Friday, right?
I was told Friday is probably the earliest, or else early next week.
FYI...
If you can believe the UVM SDN interview feedback, UVM tends to place OOS applicants who interview immediately (seemingly automatically) on their WL, which strikes some as odd since they matriculate 75% OOS (very small IS population to populate the SOM). Amazingly, their published enrolled MCAT's have remained spot on 30 : 10-10-10 for 3 straight years.
If you sent in letters of update or a CV they most likely will not have seen them.
Yes, they told me this today.Aw man, they told you this recently? I was hoping I wouldn't have to put a deposit down elsewhere if I had something in hand from here. UVM is tough to pass up!
Congrats! Now go rock that interview! 🙂
If I may ask, when were you complete by?
