Awesome, good to know they'll schedule for October too. Do you know if they have Monday interviews, or only Wednesday/Friday? Thanks!
does the app window ever change until you get an II? I got an email saying I was complete but the website still says to await email confirmation
Hey guys, I am OOS with 27 MCAT, 3.8 non-science, 3.5 science.
I completed the secondary on Monday. Today I was rejected (2days after secondary), and I asked why. Here's EVMS response:
For all applicants we look for at least a 3.4 science GPA
In-state we look for at least a 28 MCAT, out of state a 30 or better
Thought that'd be helpful. Hope you don't waste $100 like I did!
Seriously, these sorts of things are the pinnacle of corruption. We should demand a law where med schools are forced to disclose their absolute cutoff point marked and updated CLEARLY on their official website before AMCAS opens every year and to post a "warning" label on their secondary emails. So corrupt. Many of us are already neck deep in loans from undergrad. It's an insult. Well, I just saved myself $100 and a buttload of brain energy better spent elsewhere. Thank you, JED1990 🙂
After I applied, I received an email that said "thank you for submitting your supplemental application. You will be notified when your file is complete." that was July 27th. Am I suppose to get an email after this one?
Thanks!
Thanks NCMED mine has been submitted for more than a month and no completion email. Is that normal? Anyone else have a long wait till they were complete? I submitted mine on Jul 27th.
I called them this afternoon and admissions told me there was no completion email...weird
Yea weird. This is what I got:
Dear Applicant:
We have all the materials necessary to complete your application for admission.
You will be notified as soon as our Admissions Committee has reviewed your application and a decision concerning your candidacy has been made.
I've got some food for thought for you. No one forced you to apply. No one forced you to take out loans to go to college. If you don't like it, don't do it.
Pinnacle of corruption? Give me a break. Perhaps you should read the rest of the thread were other people respond about success here with points below that.

The only issue I have with med applications is that med schools are fully cognizant of their absolute cut-off points, yet they often, intentionally or not, choose not to share such valuable information, especially with oos applicants even if we personally call them. Same thing with the change in the MSAR about not sharing school data in their book anymore, but rather separately online for another extra fee. I have an issue with the principle behind these things, not necessarily the $.
Why would they do that? (And remember I'm talking about absolute cut off points where nothing else you do matters in their decision.)
Welcome to running a business.
For example, who does this? As for not sharing cut-offs, you don't want to miss a stray gem that might not apply if you have hard-lined cut-offs like say Oregon (for non-mission). Otherwise, stated cut-offs are so low as to not matter (ie Michigan 8s/min 24 MCAT).
I already mentioned that I don't know why they told this specific individual what they did when it clearly isn't true even based off people that were not rejected last year or so far this year.
Somebody just called me from admissions and invited me for an interview for next weds. Wasn't expecting this at all.

Did they assign a date or allow you to pick one for interviews?
II yesterday. OOS, sGPA < 3.4, the cutoff must be a myth.
You call the office to schedule a date from those available. Interviews are Wed/Fri.

Mind sharing your complete date e-mail from EVMS?

This just happened to me. I called to check in my application and they called back far we talked saying an interview spot had opened up this Friday. That is 2 days away!!! Anyone who has interviewed here and has ANY tips on it? Also what is the deal with student housing? I need to be there this Thursday night... Any help and input would be greatly appreciated!
