I will be interviewing here on Friday! Good luck to everyone that will be interviewing the same day. I plan to relax the night before, so if anyone would like to meet up for dinner and drinks on Thursday just inbox me!

When did you get the acceptance email? If you don't mind me asking. Also if you can share your stats and when you interviewed with them, that would be great. Thanks!

Also interviewing here Friday, just got the call on Monday, underdog here but super excited because FIU is where I did my undergrad 😍 Goodluck!!
 
Does anybody know if we are interviewing for a spot on the waitlist at this point?

I was accepted on 12/12 after interviewing on 11/19. I was just recently accepted into an in state school which makes much more financial sense for me. Best of luck! FIU has a great program 🙂:luck:

Has anyone heard anything recently? There were a few acceptances a few weeks ago but nothing since. Maybe (hopefully) more news is coming our way soon!

I just wanted to say that it was a pleasure meeting everyone that interviewed here yesterday! I wish you all the very best of luck and hopefully some of us will get the opportunity to be classmates! 🙂
 
Great school, really like their NeighborhoodHelp program and crossing my fingers for an acceptance. They said my interview group wouldn't hear anything until the beginning of March.

When I interviewed here, I loved the NeighborhoodHelp too! I would love love to go to FIU. The intergrated curriculum just makes sense and all the faculty and staff seemed like they really enjoy being there. I was so nervous in the first interview though. Hope I didn't blow my chance:scared:....even with the 60k OOS tuition =P

😱 Wow, FIU called me on Monday to inform me that I was selected to receive the Wertheim Scholarship. Completely blown away to have gone from hoping to get accepted to getting offered a full tuition scholarship for all 4 years. I didn't see that coming.

Same here! Congratulations!!

Went from receiving 0 interviews last cycle to now having a full scholarship! This process is just crazy

Since waitlisters are still ranked and considered each meeting for acceptances, has anyone actually been accepted after being wait listed?
 
Oops, my bad. No one is really "waitlisted" yet but once my status changed to "Admissions Committee Review Completed" and I did not receive an acceptance call I knew I was somewhere on the ranked list and considered myself "waitlisted." I was just wondering if anyone was accepted much later after being in a similar situation.
 
Prelim. Review Complete since 1/16, anyone know when they are done sending out ii? I assume very soon... bummer!
 
Admissions Committee Review Completed since 2/26 after my 2/8 interview.... should I expect waitlist? Thanks.
 
Any medical students or premeds willing to host me for 2-3 days while I'm in Miami? I'm willing to pay for any troubles. Thanks in advance!

I don't know! I know FIU said we could hear back at any point after our interviews but I wish that they would at least send out a "we haven't forgotten about you!" kind of update so that I don't feel like they've forgotten about me.

It's been...two months now? I just went ahead and assumed that I'm not on the top of their ranked list since I haven't heard anything.
 
Rejected today pre-interview via status update (no email). Not too surprised as interviews are wrapping up. Best of luck to all of you at FIU the next 4 years! 🙂

Dang that stinks! Thanks for the post though I got rejected as well pre-interview but didn't realize it till I saw your post and went to check my status page.
 
Does anyone know specifically when the adcom meets? Had my committee complete since 2/19 but haven't heard back...going to assume that I'm on the alternate list :/

Also, does oos or is status affect the alternate list ranking?

Check your emails--just got the official alternate email from FIU.
 
just got alternate listed too. was it something like 50% of last years class came off the waitlist? (alternate list is same as wait list right?)
 
everyone who is not offered an initial acceptance, but has interviewed, is placed on the alternate list, correct? Rejections come later?

After the interview applicants are reviewed by the committee and given a score. If you get above a certain score you are considered acceptable if not you are rejected. If you are acceptable and score high enough you are accepted right after your application is reviewed otherwise you are put on the alternate list which is ranked according to the score.
 
Did anyone that interviewed get rejected? It seems that everyone got placed on the alternate making it a long list and decreasing the chances that some of us have. Perhaps everyone on SDN that was accepted could post here saying whether they are considering attending fiu or not.? That way we have a better idea of how many of us have a chance.

I got placed on the alternate list too, interviewed 1/15. Im also wondering just how long this list is... yesterday I was happy I didn't get rejected but now I'm thinking nobody gets rejected post-interview :/
 
Alternate list as well. I'm taking my UF acceptance and runnin', they can't handle this lol.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Until someone says that they got rejected post-interview its hard to gauge where we are on this list and if we really have a chance.

Been the opposite for me; Florida is treating me super well, but my home state (Indiana of all places!) gave me the shaft! Craziness.
