Ahhh re-review as well... 👎
do you write a LOI to the admissions office or someone else?
+1seriously people it is july. A letter of interest right now is going to sound desperate, self-entitled, and probably annoy they them. They just reviewed our apps and we didn't make the first cut, so relax. You think writing a letter right after they put you on hold is going to be appreciated on their end?

whats going on 😕
Mine says it's complete too. Here's the entire message:
Your application to The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences is complete and has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee. To date, no final decision has been made and the Admissions Committee has placed your application on hold for re-review at a later date. Files are re-reviewed by the committee periodically and there is no set schedule for decisions. We do interview from September through March. You are welcome to update your file via [email protected]. If we require any further documentation or if your status changes, we will contact you immediately. We do sincerely appreciate your interest in our program. Thank you for your patience.
its my understanding that apps are not reviewed at all until all scores/etc are in.This is a random question but I just submitted my secondary tonight. I'm taking the August 16 mcat for the second time and I put that on my Amcas application so would they wait to email me or could they invite me for an interview before my second mcat scores?
They wont review my application until I am AMCAS verified, right?
Sounds about right. Yahhhhhhhhhhh MidwesternersHurricaneKat, I went with an award I received after years of hard work and dedication. The award gave me a lot of confidence in my abilities and inspired me to be more outgoing, volunteer, and try out leadership positions. It sounds kind of forced, but it's true. I didn't realize it until I started thinking back on how I had changed over the last 5 years and why I chose to do some of the things I did. The same might be true for you.
In the meantime, I haven't been verified yet... ugh. I was complete on the 9th of July, so I'm guessing it'll take another two weeks? 🙁
And, I'm from Iowa. Woohoo!

nothing on this website is "official." i think the point of that question is to see aspects of your personality outside of anything academic/school related. you can talk about lab work, but youll look like a big nerd. if you have anything else you can possibly muster up to talk about for that I would do it.Is there any official word on whether "outside the classroom" in "2. What is your most significant achievement outside the classroom? (750 characters)" excludes lab work?
Hey! I finished my interview day at 115 last year, 3pm is the absolute LATEST you'd have to be there. I'm flying out at 6 after my interview, I think you'll be fine!Question / poll for those of you who are flying in/out of DC (Reagan) for the interview. What time frames are you looking to fly out in the evening? The interview day should go from 9:15AM - 3PM. Does a 6:15PM flight out of Reagan give me enough time to get to the airport if we are done by 3pm? I'm assuming so... but curious if anyone has any experience / insight. Thanks!! (PS: I'll be there Sept 20th, look forward to meeting everyone else who is there that day!)

Based on last year, very few people got an interview invite after being placed on "Hold". If GWU is truly your first choice school, I highly recommend sending update/interest letters frequently.
Even this early in the cycle?
FWIW...my sister graduated from GW and her friend sat on ADCOM for two years. I've been getting some advice from him and I asked him, "Is it too early to send a LOI to GW?" he said no. use it as u wish.....
Hi guys!
So I'm having trouble with the 'whats your most significant experience outside of the classroom' question. So I learned how to swim from a class in college, but it required a lot of outside practice. Do you guys think I can write about it or is it still considered 'inside' classroom.
Thank you!!! and congrats to II and good luck to those who submitted!
Your life's greatest achievement is learning how to swim?

I learned to ride a bicycle as a 23 year old because it was my only form of transportation to get to work/school. It's not my most significant, but it's a much bigger deal to me than anyone can imagine. It's not just learning to do it, but it's what it allowed me to do and how it changed my life.
