Another 3 AM passes without an email from Mayo...
Have any 9/10 people gotten interviews? Or any other 8/29ers who haven't heard anything?

Complete 8/29...nothing but crickets over my way. It looks like they're moving down the line and I haven't been rejected yet, so I suppose that means I'm still in the running for an interview. :xf: I would be honored to be given the opportunity to visit Mayo!

Same here.

Got the call! In state, interviewed in October!

PIZZA ROLLLLLLINNNNNNNNNN

Congrats! I got an email with a "hold" status. It said "dear ___". They didn't even use my name 🙁

ACCEPTED!!!!!!! Interviewed October, also in-state!!
LOVE YOU MAYO!!!!!

Doesn't Mayo only interview until December? (Or am I remembering this incorrectly?)

Also got the on-hold email, interviewed mid-October 🙁

Congrats to everyone accepted today!!!

Congrats ! Very happy for both of you! Strong work! You are making me so jelly though! I can't imagine the feeling you two had when you answered the phone. 😱 😍

It's exciting to see some people off SDN get spots and post about it. I wonder how many they have accepted now.

Got the rank email today. Interviewed last Monday.

Should acceptances go out in the next two weeks?

Are any people rejected post-interview? Or is it hold status or acceptance?

From what i have seen (there are outliers, btw), you get a ranked email ~ 1-2 weeks after you interview. Then, two weeks from your ranked email, you will get an email or call regarding acceptance/hold. It's usually been Wednesdays for calls!

Does anybody know about how many people were eventually accepted from the hold list in years past?

You will get placed on hold first. No one will be rejected until January if they have interviewed. In January some on hold will be rejected others will be wait listed. Half the Mayo class in the previous year has come from that wait list. Lots of movement of course on that non ranked waitlist around Apr-May. 41-50 acceptances given by Jan.

- This is what I got from interview day, if I am wrong lmk.

Based on that accepted student facebook group about 50 have already been accepted...they must be very close to the ~70 they initially accept

Only a couple people in the group have been accepted this year. Almost all of the group is current students.

Can some of you that have already interviewed post your experiences on the SDN interview feedback page? It seems that there is only one response for Mayo from this cycle. My interview is in two weeks and I'm getting nervous! :scared:

Congrats everybody who just got in! I just walked through the Gonda lobby for the first time. What. in. the. world.

Hey rachelkj did they give any numbers updates at your interview day?

They actually did not give us numbers updates that I remember. But a little bird on SDN told me that as of Monday (just before the last burst of acceptances on here) there were 26 slots in the class.

As far as the actual interviews go for people who were asking about that: It's pretty standard. I got a lot of clarifying questions about my application, a little "Why Mayo?", and a question about whether I can really see myself living in Rochester for 4 years. Be ready for that last one, because I am still a little unsure and that may have come across. Also f you haven't figured this out already, Mayo is all about the patients, so if you don't mention patients at all in your interview then you are probably losing the game.

Anyway, Mayo is a gorgeous place with a phenomenal number of opportunities. Now to wait for about a month...

For my two cents...I interviewed in October and both my interviews were very relaxed. They were both very conversational and we spoke about my volunteering activities for the most part. I don't remember any "why medicine" or other standard questions. My second interview with an MS4 was a little more structured and i got the "why Mayo" question and discussion of why I was a fit at Mayo.

In addition to emphasizing patient care, Mayo stressed the desire to create a diverse class that reflects the diversity of their patients.

Soooo, just be yourself at your interview! Mayo knows what they want in their students -- the interview is to confirm (or deny) that you *are* in fact what they want.

I have a question for Mayo students that I learned a little about but didn't manage to ask while I was there: Does anyone do selectives or rotations at the Federal Medical Center in Rochester? It's a federal prisoner medical facility.

I'm not a med student, but from my host and interview day I understood that you can pretty much do anything for the selective as long as it's medically relevant. The selectives are way cool like that 🙂

has anybody else in the 9/10 or 8/29 groups heard anything? I mean, with fewer than 26 spots in the class left, i don't have very high hopes (and I'm mad at myself for applying so late! but was just wondering...

9/10 havent heard anything

So apparently, at this time, there are over 700 applications in the final review stage..... I'm expecting a rejection here.

Sent using SDN app, please excuse typos and brevity.

When can we expect the next round of II? I'm getting more worried about the December deadline than anything.

I called like 20 mins ago and spoke with Gina....

Wait, so when you say "final review" stage... do you mean people between LOR-Received and II limbo or people who are in Interview-Final Decision limbo?

LOR-Received and II Limbo...

I would love an acceptance before the whole wait list thing that would pretty much be the best day ever.

Do you have any idea how many of those 700 LOR-requested applicants will get interviews? It sounds like the odds are very slim...I just want to hear back soon :xf:
