No idea. Theyre doing things much differently this year than last. Hopefully sometime around January 1 because I dont think I can wait much longer lol
 
I sent an in the area email for 1/19 and they responded that if invited for an interview, they'll try and accomodate me haha, oh well!

complete 9/20ish 3.74/34 OOS no II yet :/
 
Can anyone who's interviewed recently comment on the state of the facilities post-Sandy? (I read in the news that some lecture halls were turned into "swimming pools".)

I wouldn't worry, FEMA is probably showering them in dump trucks filled with money.

Huh this is weird because it seems like most people who've gotten IIs recently were complete in August, but I was complete 10/21 and got an II 11/19...

At this point it probably shouldn't be too big of a surprise to us that many schools have little rhyme or reason to when they give out invites in terms of when applicants were complete. Different schools have different review systems, and it appears the most are not "review them in the exact order and make a decision right away". Files get reviewed, some get reviewed earlier, etc.
 
Does the desingation AM after you interview date indicate you'll be in the morning session?
 
Which interview days are still available? Roughly how many days are still available?
 
Sounds like basically everythings being pushed back one month
 
To those who have interviewed recently/post-Sandy, what does your interview packet say about when you will hear a decision?

I interviewed before Sandy happened and our packets said we would hear by February 1st. Just wondering if it's officially a different date now.

2 student interviews at 8 minutes each (plus 2 minutes to read a prompt before each interview) are MMI. Then you have a 30 minute faculty interview that is normal format
 
So does everyone go through two student hosted MMI? Sorry, I can't be bothered reading through this entire thread spot by post but from reading the interview feedback I didn't get the impression that there were MMI yet I see it being mentioned occasionally.

Sorry if I am using the term incorrectly, this is the first time I've heard about it.

Yeah two MMI stations, each with a different student, 8min each.

im wondering how late is too late to send an update letter to NYU pre interview My fall grades prob wont be in till a couple of days into January which would be my most significant and a very positive update but it seems like all the interview slots might be filled by then being that the interview season ends Jan 25th I could send a small update now with a few updated activities but nothing monumental Any thoughts?
 
Before Sandy, they said they would start releasing decisions in January. I know after Sandy the final hear-back date has been pushed back to March, but I don't know if it will delay when they begin sending out decisions.

Anybody else know?

Nobody on this forum...at least no one has posted it yet. And @colorfulfishies, I really hope we still hear in January! And maybe the people who interview later will hear later? They do say that theyre rolling after all...

Hmm...maybe I should make use of the IM feature to find this out so that we can all stop wondering. It isn't up yet for today though...

I really hope we don't have to wait until Feb/March
 
Well, that stinks. As much as I love NYU, I will probably already be decided on which school I want to attend by then.

Maybe they just don't want to give someone an earlier date now in case most people don't receive an offer before March, but that's the official word as of now it seems.

I'm interviewing in very early January so I figured it would take as much for me, but I guess NYU is kind of non-rolling this year for everyone. Oh well 🙁

yeah, seems kinda silly that NYU is holding off till March 1, esp since the TOP schools (non-rolling) hold off till march.

NYU's given out acceptances as early as november in the prior years, so not sure how hurricane sandy changed that.

Blerg, I guess I can handle tacking on two more months of waiting post-interview. It's not like four months and six months are thaaat different... right?

But maybe, just maybe (with some super optimistic thinking), they might send out some decisions earlier? Perhaps they don't want to bind themselves to a specific date and get a ton of us calling them and freaking out? Or just giving themselves enough time to make sure everything is right post-Sandy? Just let me have my bit of optimism for a little less waiting 🙂

Lol I interviewed the first day, September 18th and I thought it was a joke til he said the name of my interviewer and everything and knew everything about me
 
Did your status on the application portal ever change to anything other than interview scheduled?
