It's not typical for them to call on Monday unless they didn't get to calling everyone on Friday to the best of my knowledge. As for online status updates, I honestly never checked; I just called the office. I would say call Kim on Monday to ask her. That way you get to find out about your status and also show you're really interested in the school.
By the way, are you early decision?

I was not early decision. I interviewed the same day as the last group of early decision. They said Oct. 15th was the first day the could release regular admission applicants.

Confused... why would they call on Friday.. I thought earliest they're allowed to release results on Monday, October 15th?

They could have called Friday if I had been an early decision candidate. Once Oct. 15 passes than most UK applicants will find out on Fridays because the committee usually meets on Thursdays.

Sorry, that was my oversight. After the 15th, accepted applicants will usually hear back the Friday after their interviews.
All the best tomorrow!

Can you or any current UK med students comment on life outside of the classroom/studying/etc.? Do you enjoy living in Lexington? Get along with your classmates? How often do you party? Think you picked the correct school?

A lot of your life is going to be all about studying, but there's opportunities to go out and party a bit. Most people like to hit up the bars after an exam, others just like to hang out in other ways like going to the movies or a play or the opera. We also have social chairs who handle the fun stuff.
For me personally, Lexington is a big change because I used to live in New York and then Philadelphia so I find it to be really quiet here, which I like because I can focus on studying. Also, people are really friendly, which is nice.
I get along with all my classmates and I definitely think I picked the right school.

At least I'm not the only one. So honestly, how many times did you check the status page? 😳

What status page are you talking about? All I see is :Admissions Committee Review Completed "

I just called. Apparently they have revised their interpretation of AMCAS rules and will not be revealing adcom results until "after October 15"...which means tomorrow, Oct 16. So that's neat.

That's what I was talking about. I was hoping they would update it.

I hope you are kidding.

Ok everyone, I got up the courage to send an email to an admissions person and they responded very quickly. This is what they said, ".According to AMCAS traffic rules, we are unable to release that information until after October 15. If you want to call back tomorrow morning, that would be fine."

Very disappointing to have to wait another day, knowing about all the schools who released that info today. 🙁

"3. Each school notify all applicants - other than Combined College/M.D., Early Decision Program (EDP), and deferred matriculation applicants - of acceptance to medical school only after October 15 of each admission cycle. It may be appropriate to communicate notifications of decisions other than acceptance to medical school to applicants prior to October 15."

This must be the reason for the new interpretation.

I know I'll remember it, but I am terrified it may be a bad memory.

Hopefully we'll both laugh it off at orientation in July 😀 I have my fingers crossed we both get in whoever you may be lol... I feel like im becoming neurotic by playing out scenarios in my hand if i get accepted/otherwise!

Yeah, the class of 2016 has one.

Last night of restlessness for us I hope!

I just got an email and got a mini heart-attack thinking it was an update or something! Turns out it was an email to join some organization on campus 🙁 I really look forward to hearing back from the school tomorrow!!

Does Kentucky actually scan your primary app before giving you a secondary? I got a secondary from them on Friday and I finished it and submitted it.

I'm not only OOS but international from Canada and my stats aren't even that good (3.6 cGPA, 33R MCAT, doing some prereqs in senior year, no state ties whatsoever but I do want to practice in an underserved area).

They do check OOS applicants before they give out secondaries. So you met their minimum requirement, whatever that may be.

At this point you'll be interviewing for waitlist spots if you do.

Unfortunately yes, and as far as the email, I had almost the exact same thing happen. A professor sent out an email about class at 11pm, grr.

Hahha seriously, who sends an email at 11 pm for a class? Seems odd!

Oh boy, I'd hope to get an interview for November :/

Good luck to all of you getting potential acceptances tomorrow! Hopefully I can join in the fun in December or next year if the late application doesn't put the nail to my coffin.

Thanks! Try to get an earlier one once a spot opens up because I remember hearing that all slots are booked till Jan.

I'm scared to call, I think I will just wait for my phone to ring.

I interviewed the 15th, what day did you both interview?

You and me both Jas haha, I guess we'll wait on letting adcom have their morning coffee
