WOOOHHOOO no call! Must have gotten wait listed.

Woohoo! Congratulations everyone! I'm excited to hear that people are getting some good news!

Yes. TC. And apparently they called people for acceptances today and I didn't get one.

Don't loose hope Jlescher. I interviewed with you ( I think) and I received my waitlist letter 1-2 weeks ago. The fact that you haven't heard anything while others you interviewed with have is probably a good sign. 🙂.

Yeah I wouldn't worry too much, I doubt the admissions committee does things exactly in order. I also interview with you that day, and haven't heard anything.

Maybe there is hope, thanks for the encouraging words. Did you interview on oct 22nd?

Accepted!!!!!!!!! Got the call an hour or so ago. Twin cities, in state. Interviewed 10/29... was not expecting this!! 😍 😀

Your avatar is hilarious. It made me feel better.

Next year, we should get a separate thread for Duluth and another one for TC.

ACCEPTED! 2:30pm! IS, interviewed 10/22.

Just gave the admissions office a call and they confirmed that the admissions committee does not necessarily look at applications in order. Though I wouldn't mind it if they did haha.

Just emailed the admissions office - they said my application was reviewed last week and I should be hearing back by the end of NEXT week. I interviewed 10/18

Hmmm...idk. You'd hope that they would have just told you if they already knew waitlist.

Right. I'd hope that they would have just told me if they already knew I was accepted too...

Patience bud. I'm sure they don't want to tell you immediately as they want to make sure everything is finalized before giving you an official decision. Nothing would be worse than hearing a decision then having it change on you.

Hey everyone! I hope admissions are going well for you all. If you haven't heard back yet, sit tight. You may hear good news soon =)

If you have gotten accepted, congratulations! If things just didn't work out for you, don't lose hope because you will still have other (good) decisions coming out soon!

I am a new member to SDN but I have been lurking on the forums for a long time. I decided that I would make an account when I receive my first acceptance and here it is!

I got accepted to the Twin-Cities program and am definitely excited to possibly attending next year! I am still waiting on two more schools to roll out their decisions before I make my final decision. I am stoked to possibly meet all of you in less than a year! =)

Congrats!! When'd you interview?

Accepted to TC 2 days ago via phone call! OOS, Interview 10/29, pretty excited as I went to undergrad here!

Congrats!! When'd you interview?
I interviewed on 11/19 and received my offer of acceptance earlier this Tuesday. That being said, I didn't have a standard interview. At the Twin-Cities campus, I specifically interviewed for the MSTP. I am still stoked to possibly meet you all since the first two years are identical for all of us.

I, too, am exicted to meet everyone! Definitely wouldn't mind getting together for drinks/happy hour or something before orientation in the spring...

Finally got the big envelope in the mail today... After three years and about 40 small envelopes, this one feels great. I'll definitely be having a Medical School Rejection Letter Burning Party Bonfire in the spring... Maybe read a rejection letter out loud every few minutes and burn each individual letter... 👍

Burning documents always brings a party to a new level of greatness.

Called the office today and she said I should get an answer next week.

For UMD, there's a committee meeting on 12/11 and 12/18, but the 12/18 meeting might get cancelled. If its cancelled, then the next committee meeting won't be until January. And because they accepted 3/4 of the class already, we might not get an official acceptance or rejection until April.

They fill the class until its 3/4 full, then they put the ones they want on a high priority wait list and then pull people off the wait list and into the class in April. If you're high on the list at that time, you'll get a spot. If not, you get rejected.

Just curious: any OOSers get II's lately who submitted the secondary in early Oct? I have found myself suddenly doing research back in the Cities and have strong ties to the state.

Good luck to those interviewing tomorrow! Hopefully the past 20 hours of snowfall don't cause too many commute problems!

Nice, thanks for the info. Interviewed 10/22 with you, hoping we both hear some good news.

This is making me so anxious! I interviewed with you all on 10/22 and still haven't heard anything. I guess no news is good news though? Right??

I interviewed with both of you and have heard nothing also. I have never checked my mail or phone more!:scared:

I know, but you can relax today. Wednesday seems to be the day for calls. Hopefully we will get good news. If you haven't called admissions yet you might want to. They were nice enough to tell me when I should expect an answer.

Waitlisted today. II 10/22. IS. Little bit surprised because i thought the interview had gone well, 3.9+, 35+, pretty good ECs.

I feel like such a schlub. I'm IS, but I submitted my secondary really late (10/23). I'm so nervous waiting and seeing all of the acceptances!

Nice stats. That's a pretty odd waitlist if true. Good luck!

Did you get a waitlist call or letter? I called them today and Lola said they were meeting on 12/12/12 and that my application would most likely be in review then. I should hear by the end of the week. I'm not going to sleep.

my stats aren't as outstanding as yours but i felt the same way and felt i had really solid EC's. here's to hoping theyre doing an extensive waitlist this year and we'll be accepted immediately on the 15th of march. fingers crossed for ya! :xf:

The letter came in the mail today.

Best of luck to everyone waiting to find out! I feel your pain.

Sorry to hear that. Now I'm nervous because I didn't check my mail this morning. Then again I live in D.C. so it might take a few days to get here if we share the same fate... I hope you get a good WL number! Did we eat lunch together at the small table on interview day?

I ate lunch at the small table on 10/22! (if that's the day you're referring to).

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the acceptance packet to arrive in the mail? I was accepted early last week, just curious about how long I should anticipate waiting.

No I was at the big table. Yeah hoping for a good wait list number...when do they rank everyone? End of April?

Yup! I remember you. I was wondering if the falcon was the other guy we ate with. Congrats on the acceptance. I've been shadowing an Internist at USUHS, it's pretty awesome over there. Do you think you will still go there after getting in at MN?

At least 1-2 weeks. Fortunately they ask you to respond within two weeks of the DATED letter, not the phone call, so even if you got the packet 3-4 weeks later, you'd still have about two weeks to respond. 👍
