Not for me at least. I know the committee met today, so hopefully calls tomorrow and Friday!

I called the office and she said there weren't any acceptance calls yesterday because the scholarship committee still needs to meet. The next round of calls will come next week.

anyone near 11/12 has heard back yet?
Will I possibly hear back next week?

Good to know! Thanks!

This school is going to give me a stroke! So I guess every day I don't get a letter I'm one step closer to getting that call next week.

It is a good thing we plan on being doctors...I'm going to need one to fix the ulcer I am developing from all this stress!

Hi all, quick question: how long should I expect to wait between submitting the secondaries and hearing back about an interview? Thanks!

Hi all, quick question: how long should I expect to wait between submitting the secondaries and hearing back about an interview? Thanks!
I submitted late-october and haven't heard anything back yet. I'm expecting to hear something back soon as it sounds like some people who submitted mid-october have been receiving interviews. Someone else out there might know more about the situation.

Painfully slow.... so do interviews continue through March? Does anyone know when the last interviews are conducted at the U of M?

Be patient guys and gals... Interview season for most schools stretches well into the spring... The first year I applied I had submitted my secondary by the beginning of August and got an interview mid-December. I guess I can't comment on the specific timeline for the U, but I'm guessing it's similar! If you haven't been rejected, you still may receive in interview!

Complete Aug 8th and II Sept. 22nd.

No call today. But no letter either, and considering I could actually hit the campus with a paper airplane (providing some decent wind) I feel like that is a good sign!

Got my letter today. The wait list moves so I guess it is what it is for now. Good luck!

Still no mail today. Good sign! Each day is one day closer! Good luck to you as well. I'm sure my letter just got lost in the 10 blocks, so let's not hold our breath!

What time are we supposed to be expecting these calls? I'm going to be on the plane for the most of today. I sure don't want to miss it! Although I have a feeling that they're gonna reject me.....

Don't stress, they usually do their calls later in the week. I don't think the U rejects people post interview, just moves them to the wait list. 🙂

If you're in-sate, the odds are on your side :xf: 81% of those interviewed are accepted but that includes those taken from the waitlist.

For us OOS, the number drops to 57% of those interviewed accepted either outright or though the waitlist.

I wonder what percentage of OOS applicants are accepted initially; excluding those accepted later off the wait list. If they are conservative about accepting people right away, say 20-30%, I would feel better about being wait listed.

I'm also curious if they give significant priority to ISers when they rank the list?

They rank IS and OOS separately. In another word, there will be two waiting lists.

Hmmm...I called and asked them this when I was wait listed and they said there is only 1 list?

I guess in the end it doesn' it matter.

hmmm, I'm going to trust the person that called. Damn.

Have any IS applicants complete in early October heard back concerning interview, yay or nay? I'm getting antsy.

Well at least some schools do the two lists. It's easy to keep the pre-defined percentage this way, say 70% IS and 30% OOS for a state med school. With one list, don't know how they keep BOTH ranking and percentage when a withdraw comes randomly from a IS or OOS.

I called to ask about that and the response was, "I don't know" for almost everything I asked.

Accepted yesterday UM-Duluth when I called to ask! OOS, interviewed 10/23.
Class of 2017! So excited! Good luck to everyone still waiting! I know it's a tough wait.

IS, URM, Interview 10/25, Accepted 12/5!! Best of luck to everyone!

Does anybody know if there's a facebook group yet?

You'll have to be more specific--which school?

(I don't know the answer to either school)

If there isn't one for the U, is that something the school handles, or is it usually created by incoming students...? I would be willing to make it happen...

Accepted! Got the call about 20 minutes ago. In-state, interviewed 12/3.

Twin Cities. I think the school typically handles it but I'd be down to get a fb group going until whenever that happens.

Ladies and gentlemen...I was just accepted to the University! Thank you, thank you. (picture me standing on my dumpy apartment's coffee table, announcing this at the top of my lungs in a British accent to nobody)

Awesome, congratulations to everyone getting the call! 👍

Accepted at 3:19 this afternoon! Had to compose myself enough to go back to work for an hour. Instate. Interviewed 10/22. Aaahhhhhhhh!

MisterA! MisterA! (nervous reporter pause)....Indeed the implications are grand, but what specifically does this mean for the University, the great state of Minnesota and humanity as a whole?!?! Where exactly will you be leading us?

The lady that called me told me she hoped they were on the top of my list. I was like, lady, listen, I'm going to spend my entire break at work tomorrow calling schools to withdraw applications.

I'll see you all in August. My family would hate me if left now.

Bahaha... Solid... If I had had words at that time, I probably would have said something similar. Instead, when she said that, I said, "Uh, well, I don't know what else to say but thank you, and you made my day."

Hey I interviewed 10/22 as well, and also was accepted haha. Yay for U undergrads! Congrats everyone.
**I wish I remembered who you guys were!

Lol, I was talking about you and Urca. I remembered you two because you were the undergrads from the U.

I was wait listed so depending on how that all pans out, there is a good chance I'll be going to med school in a different part of the country.

Congrats!

There aren't a lot of schools like the U. 🙂

I knew posting about my impatience would help...II received this morning, finally!

I remember you. I was the funny brunette.

What? 12/3? Ur application must have been amazing!
I interviewed 11/12... Got the email saying they viewed my application but didn't have time to make decision so they're gonna meet in early jan to make my decision....
Tell me guys.... Does this mean I got rejected but they're kinda nice and don't want me to be sad for the holidays so they're gonna let me know in Jan?
Am I thinking too much? Did anyone else get this same email?

Oh jelliebeans...I'm sure you are just fine. Your interviewer probably took off early for the holidays or something

Did everyone else get an email from their interviewer saying congrats on acceptance? I wasn't sure if it was a "personal" thing or something more standard lol.
