There's this awesome countdown site created by a Yale-hopeful. I wonder if it's possible to create one for Penn as well. And yes, it's March 15th 150% sure (I recall from the interview). This could make or break my weekend. Yikes! :scared:

NO don't jinx it like that hahaha. A lot of schools have surprised us a day early this year (Columbia, Yale) so I hope Penn follows suit 🙂

hopefully!! i find it easier to keep myself sane though by expecting it to be on friday- that way i don't have a heart attack each time i get an email 🙂

Wouldn't it be horrible if they sent us one of those admission emails today? Haha

Out of curiosity, why the attention to today? I've always assumed that "by March 15" means "on March 15." No incentive to do so earlier....

Last year it was March 14th. The incentive is...umm, appreciative Penn interviewees? 😛

Exactly. Last year was Wednesday, March 14th. So maybe this year it'll be Wednesday too, because why not? Columbia and Yale both released a day early. It's just optimism/slightly pointless speculation but that's the reasoning behind it.

And Cornell too

Not to freak everyone out... but... the admissions portal now says: "The PennMed Admissions application software will be down for scheduled maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

So I just checked last year's thread. And when the site went down, after about one hour people got their decisions...

the site was down for me for a minute, but now it isnt, and my status is still interview completed -- is the website still down for other people?

I literally just read last years forum and saw that decisions came out after the maintenance....my heart has officially stopped.

OMG ACCEPTED!!!!! the run of bad luck rejections and waitlists has ended. This is a dream come true !

I'm guessing since both acceptances and waitlists have come out, that all that's left for those who haven't heard back (me included) were rejected 🙁

This has been the worst application cycle ever, 0 acceptances, promised by my premed tutors that my application was a shoo-in, but now, bye bye med school?

Wait and see, don't jump to conclusions yet!

Accepted as well!!! I was having the worst run of rejections and waitlists as well!!! TOP CHOICE!!!!!!!

Did you check the status page? All of us I think did. I didn't get an email yet.

My status still says "Interview Completed"...this cannot be good

obviouslyteal, yep I checked my status page, and just like Tots it still says "interview completed" I bet rejections come out the day after waitlists and acceptances

But it's been really bugging me that this admissions cycle was all one big blackbox, no idea what they're looking for in an applicant, the traditional path of high marks seems not to be a benchmark anymore.

Congrats to those accepted, though! I am really happy that you don't have to go through the disappointment I am going through. I guess I'll wait out my two waitlists, but the chances don't look good since they're really competitive schools :scared:

Yeah. They're probably drafting the rejection email right now for the rest of us!

Man, three waitlists in two days does NOT feel awesome, haha. but really 🙁

I totally feel you, this is just a lemon in life though, I think in the long run, we can look forward to making lemonade 🙂 There's always more options out there :luck:

They were probably updating everyone's status in batches. After they are done with that, they will probably then send status update via email to everyone. I'm guessing SDNers who checked their status before all the batches were finished got their statuses first and made everyone else think they got rejected.

+1

obviouslyteal, THIS is why I didn't want to hear today 🙂 Now I have to spend the whole day frantically hitting "refresh" while my heart beats loud enough for my coworkers to hear it haha
