There is a list of the scholarships they offer somewhere out there...a lot of them are reserved for NC residents or students who are pursuing a particular specialty. I'm OOS and didn't indicate a specialty on my need access form...but I was still hopeful I might get something.

Are we sure the scholarship recipients don't get announced at a later date?

Agh, I knew I shouldn't have said I was considering surgery. That will probably screw me over at every school :/
 
There are already 120+ people in the class of 2017 Facebook group. Does that mean everyone who is accepted planning on attending?

There are several people in the Facebook group from the class of 2016. I also doubt all accepted people in the group will be attending so don't worry!

Weird, I haven't received anything. I was accepted back in October and completed my FAFSA/Need Access early... Has everyone else who's been accepted received a financial aid offer?

*Edit* I just called the financial aid office. They are working on getting the emails out to everyone by tomorrow. These emails include all scholarships and loans.

Yeah, I would say a good 70-80 of the kids in the facebook group our 2016'ers, and also, people leave the fb group all the time if they get in somewhere else, happens all the time!
 
Hey all,
Welcome to Wake! I have a 2BR house very close to campus (<0.5mi) and I'm looking for a roommate to start up a lease when you guys get here. I am the owner of the house, so it makes payments super easy (my last roomie who is in the 3rd year class paid me in 1 installment for 6 months as the loan money came in, worked out great). As an upcoming 4th year I will be out of town on interviews/away rotations so you will have the place to yourself for a lot of 1st year. Asking for $500/mo. Shoot me a message if you're interested
 
Shouldn't waitlist movement be starting to heat up now? I know that AMCAS dictates that the last date at which applicants can hold multiple acceptances is May 15th, but I think I read somewhere that the date is May 1st for schools that begin orientation prior to August 1st, which applies to Wake Forest. So I would think all the waitlist movement here would start happening soon, if it isn't already over.

You're right about May 1 for Wake but as for WL movement.. definitely not over. If anything, it's just beginning - and the majority of movement should happen in the next month or so. best of luck
 
Does anyone know if there is a way to check application status since the update?
 
Wake has a couple big moves, 1st is May 1st, because of the deadline thing. 2nd is May 15th, when people get into other schools and withdraw from wake forest. 3rd is early to mid June, still cant figure out why, but a large number of the admitted class got in after May 1st. Idk if they told you this at the interview, but wake doesn't like to have many more acceptances floating out there then they have seats, so be prepared for some serious movement, hang in there guys

Last year, a few acceptances went out at the end of April. Maybe we will hear something next week. :xf:
 
I talked to someone in admissions and they said that the admissions committee has ranked who they want and given the list to the dean who will pull from the wait-list as the withdrawals come in.

What about the withdrawals that already happened? Is there going to be any movement in the next few days since there should be the most people withdrawing now?

And I'm guessing they don't say anything about waitlist position?

They didn't say anything about the withdrawals already. All they said was that the dean would periodically pick people off the waitlist.
 
If May 1st is Wake's deadline, then we should hear back this or next week regarding wait list right? After that we can assume we are rejected?

May 1 isn't the actual deadline; May 15 is, just like it is at all other schools. However Wake won't refund your $100 deposit if you withdraw after May 1, so most students would probably withdraw before May 1 if they are planning to do so, unless there is some exceptional reason for them to wait until the 15th to make their final decision.
 
Even after the "deadline", Wake will not mass accept from the WL or else they may risk over-enrolling. Like other schools, they'll likely trickle their offers day-by-day and some people who get accepted off the WL may decide to not attend. Also, students that are holding offers at Wake (or any other school) past May 15th may get off the WL at one of their higher ranked schools and choose to go there, thus freeing up another seat at Wake. So I would expect everything to be a trickle and in constant flux throughout the entire summer up until orientation starts, just like any other school.

Thank you! My stats are:

MCAT: 30R
GPA: 3.95, NC State Undergrad Double Major in BME & CH
Lots or research experience
2 years post-undergrad work experience

Good luck to everyone still waiting! I know it's tough.
 
I was accepted today. The email was sent at 12:41 pm and I just checked my email now. This is my first acceptance and I will definitely be matriculating here. My stats are in MDapps.

I'm so excited to be a demon deacon!
