How long after interview do most people hear back? I know they said 4-6 weeks but I was wondering if most have a different experience

I got my acceptance email within 4 weeks, 3 wks and one day to be exact. Good luck!

Thanks for the info and congrats on your acceptance

I don't think this has as much to do with stats as it does the interviewer figuring that I'm already holding acceptances. My stats are on my mdapps profile… Both interviews went well. I loved the school. I love Philly. But I had a feeling that I would be waitlisted regardless. My interviewer literally asked me why I was still interviewing since he thought I'd definitely gotten in to other schools.

Does Temple provide laptops for their incoming students. If not, do you think they recommend a certain type of laptop?

Thanks for the reply. And the insight. I got a similar vibe with my interviews they seemed to be focused on whether I would actually end up going there rather than anything else caught me off guard a bit as it was my first interview.

They certainly didn't for our class. We had people with Macs and people with PCs at lecture. Occasionally there would be some problem with Macs but once it was discovered it usually got fixed or someone figured out a work-around. I have some friends that just brought tablets to lecture as well.

Nope! You can check out laptops from the library to use while you're in the building though. I would go pc if you can because some things they provide don't with on macs. If you want a mac though you'll be fine.

Yeah it's a shame - they seemed to have preconceived ideas about my candidacy that did not change throughout or after the interview. I'm trying not to be bitter, but I really loved the school and probably would've gone if accepted.

I hope you hear something something (positive) soon!

Hi everyone,
Just a couple questions regarding Crozer-Chester campus for the 3/4 year.
How exactly does this work? If accepted into this program can one elect to come to Temple their 4th year and do certain electives in Philly or are the 3/4 years solely out in Upland, PA. The acceptance letter mentions something about being allowed back at Temple for 4th year.

Working in the city and being exposed to that patient base was a principal appealing factor of Temple Med to me. Any input on what the Crozer-Chester campus is like or thought off by residency programs? What percentage of the class goes off to secondary campuses vs remaining on Temple main? Finally what are the chances/does it even happen that people who are put into a secondary campus but selected Temple main as their primary are later allowed to remain at Temple or sorted back into their primary choice? The letter mentions this too but I am not sure how common that may be.

I apologize for all the questions but would greatly appreciate some input. Thanks!

I know Temple usually fills up so it's harder to transfer into main campus than out. About 50% stays at Temple I believe.

admissions committee meets today!!!hopefully some good news. i feel like im losing my mind waiting for responses 🙁 :boom:

I can't answer most of your questions, but I knew a fourth year at Geisinger who was doing a rotation in a Philly-area practice. So I don't know what the limitations are, but there seems to be some flexibility.

About 50% staying at Temple sounds about right. I know about 30 people went to St. Luke's in my class and I always assumed the other clinical campuses got about the same number of people (though I may be wrong about that). Crozer for my class is part of Temple main so that's about 90 people going to the clinical campuses out of a class of ~210. With Crozer being it's own campus, assuming the rest of the numbers are right and your class is the same size as mine, that'd be 90/210 going to main campus. Close to half.

People do move but you're right that it's harder to transfer to Temple main that from it. I think you have to keep in touch with whoever it is that okays your move and let them know you're interested. People do switch from Temple main to the clinical sites occasionally for whatever reason, so at least a few spots should open up. I honestly couldn't tell you how many people have switched in my class. And I don't doubt that people can come back for some 4th year stuff.

How long after interviewing have most people found out about their decision? I interviewed mid-December, and my status still says "Interview Complete." I'm starting to worry...!

Not sure if this has been asked already, but any recommendations as far as flights/hotels/car for an OOS applicant interviewing at the St. Luke's campus? My interview is for 02/04 and I'm a little late on confirming travel plans. Already, flights seem much cheaper flying into PHL than ABE, but PHL is 80 miles away from the campus.
I go to school at Mississippi State right now, so I had to do a pretty crazy flight in haha. I began my flights the day before my interview and flew into Philly at 1:00 am the morning of my interview, then drove up to Bethlehem that night/morning. I think I got there at 2:30ish. It wasn't too bad since everything didn't really start until noon the next day.

I loved the area and the interviews weren't too bad. Good luck!

II 1/31. Complete in August sometime. 3.9/31 non-trad. Withdrew my interview just now based upon other acceptances. Good luck to everyone still in the running!

if i may ask, are you a PA resident? thanks

Just got an II on 1/31 (Friday)! I didn't expect to get another interview, but I'm really excited. I have no other acceptances yet (still waiting on two post interviews), so I'm thrilled for a chance at Temple!

If you still feel this way, may I suggest writing the adcom a note explaining as much. In my experience they take those letters seriously.

I might… but might wait a little. My pre-med advisor told us to wait until March/April to contact schools regarding waitlists because most schools don't consider waitlisted applicants until then or May… is that true?

Far be it from me to tell you to go against your pre-med advisor or dispute their advice. I emailed Temple several letters and had current students write on my behalf last year between March and May (I work here), but my interview last year was much later in the season. Whenever you do write, just make it clear how serious you are about attending and I wish you luck!

Do they send out pre II rejectioin? Has anyone received it?

When were you complete? Thanks!

I was complete on 11/10, so relatively later! I feel like they've still got a long way to go. There were tons of slots left for February, and they are only scheduling February interviews right now. There should still be slots in March as well! So good luck if you haven't heard back yet! There's definitely still hope. 🙂

What was the earliest interview date available?

Anyone know when we might expect acceptances to be sent out

Can anyone clarify something for me? Is it okay to send a letter of interest pre-interview? I heard that if you're stuck in the pre-interview position, you should only send update letters with updates to your grades, activities, etc., and send letter of interest/intent only AFTER your have interviewed there.

Mine was a combo LOI/update, I mentioned my grades and was pretty "aggressive" (for lack of a better term) about my desire to go there and belief in their mission.

I never got an email back, but I did receive an interview invite shortly thereafter...so it's your call, but I would pull the trigger!

It could make a difference, it could not. However, an hour spent banging out a letter and sending it is nothing when it brings the peace of mind that you're doing everything in your power to be successful. At this point, apps are all in, people have been accepted/rejected, etc., and it can feel like it's completely out of your control...but sending a letter to confirm your desire to attend is totally within your power!

Good luck!!!

anyone know if temple does post-interview rejections?

Just got the second look email. It will be on March 28th. PM me if you plan on going. It would be nice to get to know some of you beforehand.

Thanks
Also how long after your interview did you get an acceptance I interviewed several weeks back and I know the committee meets every Friday so was trying to gauge how long more if have to wait

Any recent wait lists or acceptances?

Hey Guys,

ACCEPTED! Just got an email on Friday. I interviewed back in October, I thought for sure I was in the post-interview rejection pile. To those still waiting all I can say is be patient, the wait is a killer. Excited for second look!

Congratulations!
