In my eyes, UMiami is a great school and I'd definitely go here if I get that phone call on dec 11th!!!!!!
 
Do our statuses have to change to "decision has been made" in order to receive a phone call or email on the 11th? My status is still "interview completed."

I think the way it worked for most of us waiting to hear on Nov. 20th was that our status changed to decision made before we heard back. The status for almost all of us changed only a few days before the given date, so hold on tight, yours might not even change till the 11th itself. Best of luck! 🙂

I interviewed at the end of October. Was waiting on 20 Nov but didn't receive a call and my status never changed. However, last week my status changed to "decision has been made." So, from my experience, if your status doesn't change you won't get a call.

Wow, I really hope that's the case. I interviewed mid November and they told us we will hear back by Dec.11th. Hopefully, there's no delay! As of now, my status is:

"Your Interview has been completed and now your AMCAS and Secondary Applications and interview report are currently being reviewed a final time by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Decisions are usually made within 4-6 weeks of the interview. You will be notified by cell phone, e-mail and/or standard mail."

Also, when you say a "few days before the given date", does that include Monday/Tuesday? I know they meet on Wednesday to send out decisions but Idk if the committee meets other days to make the decisions. Thanks!

EDIT: Nvm,went back to previous posts and many people did get a status change the Monday before that Wed.. which means I'll be checking my status neurotically tomorrow. Haha!

My status is still at "Your application to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee and selected for an Interview. You should have received an e-mail and selected a date for the Interview." I interviewed early november, and it never changed to "interview completed". Anyone else experience this? I hope it's nothing to worry about
 
I never completed this secondary but am thinking about doing it now. Do you guys think it's worth it at this point?

Anyone get a status update from interview complete to decision made? I'm getting really nervous here. Was really hoping to hear back by wed. Or else I would have to wait until jan 22. 🙁

I interviewed Nov. 25 and 26 and was updated to "Interview Complete" yesterday for both programs. I'm with you sunnysideup3 !
 
Did anyone else get the email from Dr. Weisman about decisions being delayed due to the AdCom not getting a chance to review the files?

I did also. So bummed out. I feel like we should all give each other a big hug. The next acceptance date is Jan 22, which is almost a month and a half away which really sucks. 🙁

I too am bummed out. I was so fixated on December 11th.

Now I know how Mario must feel every time he has to hear "Sorry - but the princess is in another castle!"
 
What did the email say? Was this only for people who just recently interviewed?

I assume its for recent interviewees (I interviewed on late November). Basically said the AdCom couldn't get to the ballot that had my name on it in time to make a decision on the 11th, and we should hear back on the next acceptance date (January 22nd).

My status did change though... from "Your interview has been completed. Your application and interview report will be reviewed a final time by the admissions committee. It usually takes 4-6 weeks etc..." to "Your application and interview report will be reviewed a final time by the admissions committee. It usually takes 4-6 weeks etc..." Don't know what that means though since the meaning didn't change..

Same here, but I think they just updated the system a little bit. If I'm not wrong, I think previously they didn't have one of those green check-marks for the "interview complete" thing they do now - since they added that in, the "Your interview has been completed" part probably became redundant. I mean, like you said, it means the same thing.
 
so there are admissions calls though today, i.e., earlier interviews and waitlist?
 
Hope you find out soon! You didn't receive any email about a delay in adcom decisions, right?
 
This is odd. From what I've heard, Miller is usually on point with their post-5pm calls.
 
I have heard nothing but my situation is unique as I still have the "Will be reviewed a final time....Wait 4-6 weeks...." BUT I did not get the email indicating that I will have to wait until Jan 22.

Blood pressure = rising

Yea I have had the final decision status for 6 days and I did not get any delay letter.

i'm pretty sure you're waiting until jan 22....
 
earlier someone who interviewed 11/15 said they were waiting until Jan as well.
 
I remember Dr. Weisman mentioning during my interview day that the AdCom meets on Wednesday (in the same boardroom we waited in) to finalize their selections and they make the calls as soon as they are done. I am assuming they haven't notified anyone yet because ... they are still in the meeting?
 
I only applied md. Interviewed 10/19 and had final decision status six days ago.

I interviewed on Oct. 18th, Weisman told us we'd be notified on Nov 20th, but I didn't receive any updates. My application status recently changed to "decision has been made" and today, December 11th, I got the call a little after 5 pm.
