I have to add support for the calls, Just received mine from Pat in admissions saying an offer of acceptance is on its way. Rochester was my first interview and first acceptance, good luck for everyone else applying and I hope you hear good news soon!!

Looks like they must be going down the list if interview dates! When did you interview?
 
Hi All! Congratulations to all who have received acceptances so far! Everyone else, hang in there! I just wanted to introduce myself to some who may end up going to UR next year. I will also be joining you in the Class of 2018, but my path was quite non-traditional. I applied last year and was wait-listed at UR, my dream school, until I was given an opportunity to do a postbac in Buffalo through the Associated Medical Schools of NY. I basically have a contract with UR, and once I'm done with my post-bac year I'm automatically in 🙂
I would love to meet some future classmates! I also have lived in Rochester most of my life and went to UR for undergrad and grad school. So if you have any questions, or are going to UR send me a message and we can chat. 🙂
 
Anyone who interviewed 9/25 or later get accepted yet?

Wait listed too. I interviewed 9/12. I had a very strange second interview so I assumed this was going to be the case. Congradulations to everyone who got accepted and good luck to those who are still waiting!
 
K- I'm a wee confused.

I called admissions just barely and they said from this point, they randomly select applications and review them and all interviews will then be in Feb-March... So I wonder those who were interviewed- are they in the 'Early Admission Program' folks? If not, can somebody clarify what Admissions meant by that?

My application (LORs, secondary, etc) was complete over a month ago, if that helps.

Congrats to all who got accepted! I envy you all!

No, Rochester's regular interview dates started in late August. I'm not sure what exactly they meant. Perhaps they may have filled up all the available dates before February. Although, I'd be surprised to hear they're randomly selecting applications to review.
 
I got a voice mail message! Accepted!!!! My first interview and my first acceptance! I am ecstatic! Congrats to all who got good news, everyone else hang in there!

I am officially going to go to medical school now!!! Wow oh wow!!!! 🙂

Submitted secondary mid/late July.
 
I'm with you, His. Complete in July and no interview yet.... If I don't receive a rejection email in the next few hours, I will be confused!
 
Complete 8/10, OOS nontrad, rejected today by email. Not bummed. Good luck to everyone else still in the running!

Rejected today post secondary. 31/c3.45/s3.61/IS. Would have loved another interview at NY but I wasn't surprised by the rejection. I certainly appreciate schools like Rochester that doesn't waste your time and string you along for the rest of the cycle.

Surely they can't be serious!

I was verified by AMCAS on Day 1, but added this school very late. Basically, I had a neurotic "let's add every school that doesn't require a secondary!" phase. I'm sure they saw right through me, haha.
 
rejected pre-interview

complete around 3 or 4 days after the secondary came out.

i thought it was from another ny school i was waiting on and almost yelled out loud in anger in the university library.

I always wondered if schools care about this sort of stuff. I added a bunch of reach schools late, but only because my confidence was a little higher after I started passing screens at places like Vandyh, UCSF, etc. I hope schools don't see late additions as a sign that you don't like their school.

How are they able to see that you added their schools after your submit date?

Schools can see when you submit your AMCAS and when you submit your secondary. So if you submit the secondary over 2 months after primary submission, especially if you were verified early, it might raise eyebrows.

Also rejected pre interview. 3.93 cGPA/4.00 sGPA/36/IS/complete 7/27

Rejected pre-interview via email today - completed secondary mid July.

I pretty much figured this was coming once two months went by with no news, but I'm not bummed since I've been having pretty good luck with the application cycle thus far.

Congrats to those accepted though ! & for those in the same boat as me - we are going to all end up in great schools anyways ! 😀

31/3.85/IS/Non-trad/complete end of july

Only applied 'cuz of the easy secondary, but still, hurts that they interview 20% of IS applicants and dissed me summarily. Doesn't bode well for the reach schools I actually do want to attend...

As an aside, to all the "accepted!" and "rejected!" people, very happy and sad for you respectively, really I am. But, just indicating your status doesn't really help anyone else...I'm just sayin'. Add some stats or something please 🙂.
