I don't know about calling Norfolk "beautiful"
OOS but I have a decent link to VA... what do they look for in OOS residents if they aren't "exceptional"?
FYI the school is located in norfolk (and if you care about local pronunciation, nah-fuk) , not "northfolk"

This is what i'm wondering, I received my secondary and was surprised to find out about the screening.

I got a call today saying that my science GPA is well below what they usually accept but since I'm doing a post bacc that they will put me on a grade hold until after the first semester of grades is received before sending me a secondary. So if anyone else is in a similar position, you won't receive that yet.
if you don't mind sharing, what is your sGPA?
2.69 science 2.94 cumulative. Very non-traditional applicant. :/
I'm doing an SMP-like thing at VCU with similar stats. Did you email them to let them know you were doing a post-bacc? Thanks and good luck!
It would be good to know how heavily they screen for sure. Are they weeding out the sub 25 MCATs and sub 3.0 GPAs or is it more in depth. We'll probably never know haha
Received EVMS secondary today right as I got off work at 3:30pm CST. Due in 30 days after receipt, which is awesome considering WVU and Loyola both have monster secondary essays that will take awhile to answer adequately...
FWIW, I was rejected pre-secondary. Congrats and good luck to those who passed the screen!

Email - pretty generic, "we wish you well in your future endeavors" sort of thing.
Sorry to hear about that. I called admissions a few days ago and they told me that for OOS students they want at least a 30 on the MCAT this year to receive a secondary.
For OOS Students you need at least a 30 MCAT...thats what admissions told me over the phone a few days ago...

Yes. Received mine earlier this afternoon. I would just wait.. You have really good stats for being IS. You should be getting one soon. Prewrite so that you can submit ASAP

No. I am OOS with a 3.25 uGPA and sGPA and a 3.96 SMP GPA. MCAT is 31(PS11/10VR/10BS) and very strong ECs
I have friends who were IS and applied with stats lower than yours. They got accepted but chose to goto another school. Don't worry, you should get a secondary. Will till the end of the week and maybe then call and inquire about your application

Yep! I was verified 6/6
I suggest wait till the end of the week and if still no secondary then call...
I had to use a picture resizing tool I found on Google (www.picresize.com) and manually set it to 144x144 pixels. Hope this helps!

Would you mind sharing stats? I'm waiting on a secondary OOS.. although I do go to college in the state
mcat <30, GPA >3.44 . I think if you have both at or above their averages you're good.
I'm confused about why they called me then about my GPA... I have a 28 MCAT and am OOS!!!
OOS applicant with low numbers. haven't received a secondary/rejection yet.
