I am pretty sure they are meeting the 28th in the evening. Ms Monfort said that she would be making calls that night. But if it was too late then she would call the next morning. Good luck!

I interviewed 12/12/14 and still have yet to hear 🙁. I think they grouped more interviews for todays committee meeting since there was Christmas break!

Oh wow, hmm. I wonder how many interview groups there were between your date and mine. How many students do you think they accept every time? Can't be many, I imagine :/
 
Got an email, alternate list, anyone else got this email? what does this mean? is this a waitlist? is there an accepted alternate list?

When did you interview? I think I remember them saying most interviewees are placed on a wait list/alternate list? It seemed like they go through a lot of the wait list so I wouldn't think its necessarily a bad thing!

I haven't received the email yet, but was told we were basically interviewing for waitlist/alternate list positions at this point. They seem to take a lot of the waitlist so I wouldn't worry too much 🙂

My interviewer told me and a 1st year med student...although I'm sure they'll accept some if ppl drop...but they don't accept past 64 at any given time.

EDIT: they also said we would hear on the 11th and that didn't hold true so...I don't know lol

I interviewed on the 6th and will hear back on March 11th. I am super excited. They use a numerical ranking system and will not divulge exactly how they decide but suffice to say: if your app is strong, then you will get a seat. If it is mediocre, by their standards, you will be waitlisted. Anything else will be a rejection. But they interviewed 360+ applicants las year and accepted 260+...this includes the waitlist of course. So, if you got an interview....you are almost golden.

Is there an "accepted alternate list"? Or is it just the alternate list?

What exactly did your email say? Mine said...

Dear Applicant,

I am delighted to confirm that the Committee on Admissions completed their review and has voted to place you on the Alternate List. The list is ranked and I will personally notify you as soon as a seat becomes available.....blah blah blah

It said the same thing word for word. And it ended with "Congratulations and welcome to the Charles e Schmidt college of medicine family"

Weird - mine just ended with "Thank you and have a great day!"

Probably looking too far into it...

I think if you are placed high on this alternate list they just consider that an acceptance regardless since it is almost guaranteed that they will go x amount into the list, but if you're farther down the road seems more murky?
Last year people were thinking there were two lists - accepted alternate and just alternate, but I think one of the admins said there is just one list and the position on it is what matters.
 
Hi everyone...loooong time lurker here, first post. Always could find the answer to my questions by scrolling through the threads, but here's an original! (I think)

For those of you waitlisted, what's your official status on the portal? Mine is simply "Alternate List." Wondering if there's an accepted alt list, etc. I remember them saying there are 3 alternate lists (A,B & C), each one ranked. Trying to decipher the shapes in the clouds to figure out where I'm at...an exercise in madness, no doubt...
