2014-2015 Loyola University Chicago (Stritch) Application Thread

Meh, I'll take some sloppy seconds as opposed to no interview invite. At least sloppy seconds means a chance at an acceptance. I might change my mind on that though if I am accepted somewhere else first.
+1

My recent take away from this thread:

Who here has been "under review" for at least 3 months?

I believe so. Most schools begin wait list movement in May. Normally there are very few schools that have movement throughout the interview cycle.

same I also got put on the alternate list. Do we really have to wait until may to find out if we are accepted or rejected?

When you guys sent in your acceptance sheet, did they acknowledge receiving it at all? One of my other schools that asked you to mail something in emailed you when they received it. Thanks all!

For those of you still waiting, I remember being told that Loyola interviews way into February/March, and my interview was <2 weeks within my II, so there are still many opportunities left.

Whoa, II earlier this evening, after being under review since early July! Didn't even have a chance to send in an update yet.

No II for me, but I think my status changed from "under review" to "has been reviewed" in the past 2 days. I sent in 1 update in early Nov.

Darn, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope they re-review your app - I thought I remembered some applicants getting interviews after that status?

I'm not worried about it. I had a great experience at SLU this week and I recently got another II. I find it a waste of energy to stress about one specific school's status. I'd still love to visit Loyola if given the chance. But, being on hold isn't a dealbreaker for me anymore.

That's great to hear! I had a great time at SLU, too -- I hope we get to meet up there at some point next year! And congrats on the other II!!

For those who were accepted, was the number that called just the admissions office phone number? Not sure if you can give out the actual number, but maybe someone could post the area code just as a heads up tip?

I remember being told the only notice of acceptance was going to be a physical letter...didn't realize Loyola also called accepted applicants.

Your interviewer(s) call you, but they don't have to, so I think some people get one call, some get two (I did) and some get none. It's not the admissions office notifying via phone but the office will send you a letter and update your status on the portal.

It can also be a dean who calls you, not only interviewers.

I was called by a dean, whom I had never met.

That is quite confusing. Thanks for the heads up even though in the end I still don't know what to expect. I was also told I wouldn't be notified online at all (just a letter in the mail)...

Today's the day, right? I'm pretty sure on my interview day they told us the adcom meeting was 12/15 and we should expect decisions within a few days after that. But I'm assuming phone calls could possibly go out tonight?

That's what I remember too, so I've had my phone volume all the way up today.

Just received an interview invite! For people still waiting, I've been complete and under review since July (not the "has been reviewed" hold status) and I never sent an update
What were your stats if you don't mind me asking and congrats!!!

Got an II today! Was not expecting this at all so I feel very honored. I have been "under review" with no further status change since mid July, Sent an update about 2 month ago. For the people still waiting, don't lose hope, just keep calm and continue waiting 🙂

Congrats! Still waiting here and just sent in an update today.

What dates were available?

Got the call last night! Didn't even have to worry about checking the area code since it showed up as Loyola on my phone (thanks Google).

Funny story: received II from Rush first, sent an "in-the-area" email to Loyola, received II from Loyola a few days later, interviewed at both, rejected first by Rush, then accepted by Loyola. Getting rejected stung, but if I hadn't gotten that first II to Rush, maybe Loyola would have never given me an early II...who knows! Just grateful.

II about an hour ago - my first Chicago school, very excited!!

Lizzy M > 68, complete early August. Looks like there's been a burst of activity, so hang in there guys!

Cool. Were you "under review" or "has been reviewed?" When are they scheduling interviews for now?

I believe I was under review the whole time, but haven't checked in the past couple of weeks. I'll call the admissions office tomorrow morning to schedule a date and let you know what they offer me.

Edit: mid to late January!

Under review since submission, recently placed in "has been reviewed" category. So long Loyola, but good luck to everybody else 🙂

still "under review" since September 4, really hoping there is an II on the horizon!

II here just now. I was complete early August, LizzyM ~69. Have to call and schedule it - I'll let you all know what kinds of dates they have available when I find out.

Anyone have an idea when SSOM shuts down for break? Could we possibly hear something next week?
