Did those who got accepted get a confirmation once Penn State received the Acceptance Form? How do I know that my letter was received by them?

Penn State does indeed send you a confirmation regarding your deposit once you send it in! It's an email.

Thanks! Acceptance took a week to get here and now I have a week to send in the deposit and form. Just wanted to make sure I didn't lose my spot. Super excited about the acceptance.

Just got the hold email. Interviewed the first week of October.
 
Interviewed week of October 12, no news yet. Looks like their process is random, timewise

TxC...not sure if you remember me from earlier posts. But I'm the one who had the second look tab in late-october and assumed I got in..... wellll... I still haven't heard a thing. I interviewed late September... 3 months?! Anyone else interview around the same time and still have silence? I checked my junk email and everything...
I called admissions and explained.. the woman said they hired a new group this yr and they didn't know they weren't supposed to put up the second look tabs this year. Sooo... I have no idea what that means. Doubt I got in though now... who knows.. but if they did put the second look tab up on my app on accident that is a hugeeee mistake. I'm not even sure how someone would make a mistake that big, but I am pretty sure that is what happened now. My app must be sitting in circulation ...

Wow......I cannot imagine a school making a mistake like this.

I am so sorry to hear about your situation. I really hope it was not a big mistake.

I interviewed September 26, and haven't heard a thing. I did not get a second-look tab as far as I know. I called last week, and they told me that "if I hadn't heard anything, they hadn't made a decision yet." At this point I'm wondering if something got lost in the mail/wasn't delivered to my email, but they hurried me off the phone and told me to be patient (didn't even ask for my name to check, which I thought was odd).

No need to feel sorry! Three interviews so far, so I'm pretty confident in my chances, mate. I'm pretty new to sdn, so enlighten me as to the term "URM"? Thanks for the good luck thrown in, love!

URM=Underrepresented minority (from your MDApps page). Generally, sending a secondary in at this point of time is deemed to be a waste of time and money.
 
Woahhh is this a complete email? I submitted wayyyyyy back on 8/6 with all of my letters of rec, transcripts, etc ready to go and never received a complete email. I emailed them about a month ago to see what the deal
was and just received this response:

"Thank you for your email. Our records indicate that your Secondary Application and Letter(s) of Recommendation have been received. Your application is now in the queue and on line to be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. It may be several weeks from the time of the submission of your application before the Committee receives it for review.

Please let us know what else we can do to help, and thank you for your interest in Penn State College of Medicine.

I interviewed the second week of October.
Also, does anyone know the grade requirements for Penn State after being accepted/before matriculation? I am anticipating a B-/C+ in one of my classes because the few exam dates for the class always conflicted with my interview travel days -__- Its not a pre-req btw. Thanks!

Congrat!!! I don't think anything above a C will be a problem. I am pretty much in the same situation for one of my classes haha.

II today!! OOS 3.63/32. Complete mid August. Scheduled for mid January (no dates being scheduled after that currently).

I know I'm late to respond, but watch out for the cabs. I live in Middletown literally 5 min from the terminal. I've called for cabs and have NEVER been able to get one. Maybe I'm too close, but I still don't want to pay for parking when I have to.

Quite annoying. Not trying to scare anyone, but cabs are rather unreliable to/from MDT (Harrisburg). If you can set it up in advance, definitely do it.


Late to the game here, interview is coming up. PSU grad, fingers crossed.
That said, if anyone has any specific questions about PSUCOM or HMC, I'm very familiar.

Congratulations Everyone!! If you're still waiting, hang in there. My dates are exactly the same as yours except I believe I was complete 8/25. Some other details for the extra analyzers.. I'm IS and Lizzy M ~64-68.

It was in the acceptance packet of information. Apparently they want you down there July 14th for orientation and a precursor 2 week course before class actually starts in August. Think the white coat ceremony is at the end of this two week course and before classes actually begin!
 
Penn State does not accept update letters even after you interview, right?
 
Did you guys also receive the acceptance via email or did it only arrive in the mail?

Not until May 15 per the portal's document upload tab. You can update the portal with transcripts at least.

Acceptances are only sent out via snail mail. Most other communications are by email, but I am not sure about post-interview rejections.
