WL as well (by email)
Damn, I really did fall in love with Buffalo. I got free bakery from the owner at a bakery shop, got lost and got a ride from a dental student from UB. Such nice people in Buffalo.

I believe the three options are Accept, WL, Not Accept. So yeah, I think some people do.

I think so, according to past years. At least we have some company and we're still in the game!

WL by email

Number 1 too 🙁

Really wondering if any one received "not accepted" (They said they don't like to use the word reject). Anyways, it seems like everyone (except for people with crazy stats like Lizzy 74+) was just put on the WL.

lol I'm a lizzy 74 but i was waitlisted as well.....+pity+

I'm pretty sure that UB tends strongly to waitlist rather than accept. I have heard that in past years there are very few acceptances until later in the cycle, so keep your heads up folks.

ACCEPTED! I'm excited about this acceptance but guys, does signing the acceptance form permanently commit us to attending SUNY Buffalo? There's a paragraph in the acceptance offer that says that accepting the offer indicates that we are committed to matriculating at SUNY Buffalo but I would like to wait for my finaid packages first before committing myself to attending the school...

No I think it's that you're not permanently committed until officially matriculating in August... the letter does say, "It is our assumption that acceptance of this offer constitutes a commitment on your part to complete your medical education here after you matriculate." So I think to reserve the seat you still have to fill out and return the form, but it's not "binding" since you haven't matriculated yet (the deposit is also refundable until May).

Also, I called admissions to say I was accepting the offer and they said I was going to receive a Person No. by email within a couple of days so that I could make the $100 deposit, but so far it's been 2 days and haven't received a Person No...has anybody received the Person No. yet and paid the $100 deposit?

Thank you for your response! :shy:. Just wanted to make super sure! I haven't received the email either.

Same here, I am waiting for the UB person number so I can pay my seat! did you sign and mail the attachment yet?

OK, so just received email with a link to the UB "Gradadmit" website and a login name and PIN number, which I used to create an account. Under "Check status" on the Gradadmit portal, they give you your UB Person Number, which I then used to pay the $100 deposit. The payment seemed to go through for me, so I hope that that officially reserves the seat and confirms things!

Buffalo is increasing the class size this year correct?

Congrats for those who got accepted! For those who got waitlisted, don't worry and send letters of update/interests in May/June next year. I was waitlisted as well, and don't lose your hope yet! There are many of us in our class who were initially waitlisted.

Last year, I think the top and middle thirds of the waitlist got eventually accepted.

Haven't heard anything yet after my secondary that I completed in late June/early July...

Hey guys! Hope interviews and applications are going well for everyone! Any sub-30 interview invites/WLs/acceptances? If so, when were you complete and what were your stats? Thanks for the information and good luck to all applicants!

Can we ever inquire about our position on the WL (like in May?)

I'm a sub 30. Interviewed on the first day. WL

Usually they won't tell you about your position in the waitlist, even if you ask. This year might be different, but I probably doubt it.

I have a 29 MCAT. I interviewed there mid September and was waitlisted

II yesterday, but I'm withdrawing (not a geographic location for me). Good luck to all! BTW complete back in mid-july, LizzyM 70-74.

Does anyone know if they pull from the waitlist as the year goes and they get a feel of their rankings or are acceptances only given by interview dates and then the waitlist is pulled after April 30th?

I was told on my interview day that there can be continuous waitlist movement, it doesn't necessarily have to be after April 30th.

WL as well. As indicated by the WL e-mail, they will be giving us a sense of our ranking on the WL, I just don't know if it'll be a concrete number or a grouping (top 1/3, etc.). Furthermore, I did hear that UB is known for waitlisting more than other schools and that a hefty number end up getting accepted which is reason for optimism.

I won't ever understand UB's random review process :sour: I want to send an update or something, but they don't seem to accept those. Too bad it's on the top of my list!!

The fact the Dr. Severin told us that we would be given an indication as to our position on the WL, as well as the WL e-mail from Mr. Rosso stating that they can't provide any information regarding our position "at this time". It will come.

Have an II in mid November. Any Buffalo students can chime in on the odds of a notorious lake effect snowfall that time of year? I would imagine that Buffalo clears out the airport fairly quickly.
